Quaint & Quiet
The apartment was just as advertised. Bedrooms were spacious with nice bathroom. Open concept kitchen, dining area & Great Room. Delightfully decorated, in a beautiful wooded setting. We traveled to SC for our grandsons graduation from medical school, this apartment was just the right fit for us. Danielle was very nice & we didn’t know they were living upstairs. We would stay again if in the area!
Quiet and private
Things we loved: rural location, quiet, mixing bowls & measuring cups, baking sheet, spray oil, foil & plastic wrap, paper plates/cups/flatware, private patio with a table and ample seating, overall cleanliness, comfy couch, nice decor, coffee maker and variety of beverages. I really loved the decaf fruit teas (I bought some at Lidl to bring home).
Things that need improving: there is only 1 bedroom and a second room that has no closet, window or dresser. My traveling mate had to literally lay her blouses out on the floor, and live out of her suitcase for several days. No air circulation in that room, as there is no A/C or heating vent in the room. We had to place a fan on the floor of the living room and point it at her bedroom at night, leaving the A/C on, for her to be able to sleep.
I know this was a fluke, but the refrigerator was not broken. Danielle said it had been out for a couple of weeks, and they had hoped to have it fixed before I arrived, but it didn't happen. I would have appreciated a heads-up about that, with an option to go elsewhere, since I purposely look for rentals with full kitchens so I can bring in groceries. She had a small and very inadequate dorm fridge, and brought down an insulated cooler bag for the overflow groceries. But we had to stop at the store twice during my stay for large bags of ice to keep the food cold.
We contacted the property before booking to ask about accessibility and stairs into the apartment, since both of us have mobility issues. We were told there were no stairs. But when we got there, we found there are 4 stairs up the slope from the parking area, with no handrail. The option is to go up the slope beside the parking area, which was hard for both of us -- I had on a walking boot due to a foot injury, and my friend uses a walker. There is no grab bar in the tub/shower combo. People with mobility issues should be aware of these things.
Some things that would be helpful: shelves in the pantry so we can put food away, a small cooling rack, fix the front entrance door so that the dead bolt aligns and can be used, ditto on doors to patio, some outlets have no cover plates, didn't see a hair dryer, beds could use a foam topper (they're pretty firm).
Be aware that gps misdirects you, and you'll miss the driveway. Watch the mailbox numbers on the street to find the driveway.
Overall, Danielle and Matthew are very nice, and we appreciated their help when needed.
Exactly as advertised
The space was very comfortable and exactly as advertised. My wife and I used this as a base of operations to scout the area and it was exactly what we needed. Basic amenities plus a ping pong table and a nice view. I would definitely stay here again if I come back through the area.
We had a very nice stay in this spacious basement apartment. It has enough space for a small family and the kids loved the ping pong table. Danielle is very nice and accommodating and helpful with recommendations. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.
Great Place To Stay
We had a great time! Danielle was very nice and accommodating. Kids really enjoyed the ping-pong table, tons of space and the wild turkeys :-).
Danielle was kind and a pleasure to do business with. Thank you for all your help.
