Owners have lived in Alaska for over 40 years and are a semi-retired couple who travel expensively in the 'Lower 48' but continue to call Alaska 'home'. During the summer they enjoy spending time on the Kenai River fishing for Alaska salmon. During the fall they enjoy the Adirondacks in NY where they have a small cabin on the Ausable River. The winters are spent mainly in Florida avoiding the cold snowy weather they have enjoyed all those years. They maintain a small apartment over the garage at said property for when they are in Anchorage.
This house was perfect for our team of five couples. Plenty of room! We felt like we were at home. If you have a large party, this is your spot! Close to everything and the house is set up so well. You can't go wrong with this house.
Our company shared the house on a recent trip to AK and were impressed how big the house was. 5 bedrooms, 2 TV lounges allowed our company the opportunity to find our own space and all come together too. The house has a great location, only a few minutes from a main area with Super Wal Mart, Best Buy and lots of restaurants and only a few minutes from the Seward Highway, the main road that runs alongside Cook Inlet to Girdwood and Seward.
This is a beautiful multi family vacation home. Wer'e long time Alaskan residents returning for a visit. Lots of rooms, we were a 4 generation family get together, there was plenty of room for cooking for every one. This house sits on 2 1/2 acres of private property, a wonderful back yard. We will definitely be repeat customers. The owner Bob was very gracious with any requests we had.
We had 4 adults+ 7children here for 10 nights. Absolutely lovely wooded setting, very quiet; and the home comfortable and spacious. Between dining room, breakfast room, living room, den, another huge den area, and a backyard deck -- there were plenty of places to spread out to read, play games, or just relax. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Owner was accessible in case anything went awry (it didn't). Stayed busy hiking, biking, seeing Anchorage -- and this was a wonderful place to return each day. Thank you!!
Truly an oasis in South Anchorage. This property is tucked into a large wooded lot that is very private. The house and living spaces are huge! Plenty of rom for a large group to spread out and be comfortable. Great location across from the AK Zoo and near some of the best hiking in the Anchorage area. Close enough to downtown- though you should plan to have a car. Bob is a consummate host and stood ready to answer any questions or fix any issues. Well equipped.
Everyone in our group of 8 adults was thrilled with our stay at this house. It was everything we were hoping for and was just as nice as the pictures showed. The owner responded quickly to my inquiries and was most helpful in reuniting us with some items that were accidentally left behind.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the Anchorage area. It was so much more comfortable, convenient and affordable than 4 hotel rooms would have been. We didn't have any children with us, but the house would have worked perfectly for them also, lots of toys and fun things for them, including the zoo nearby.
Our days in Anchorage will be a much better memory for having stayed at this house. Some of us enjoyed it so much we just spent a day lounging around instead of sightseeing!
This home sits on a two and a half acre wooded lot with easy access to major shopping, restaurants, and local Alaskan attractions.
