The view is amazing and the cottage was very comfortable for my wife and I. Owners were responsive as needed but for the most part let us come and go as we pleased. Location makes for easy access to downtown Seattle and the islands while not feeling like you are in the city. I would highly recommend this for your stay in Seattle.
The view of the sound was great
Really enjoyed our stay. Private, comfortable and reasonable.
Great little old cottage, awesome view.
Great little old company cottage with awesome view.
West Seattle Find
The property is very comfortable and provides an exceptional view of the Sound. Its a little hard to find and parking is at a premium in the neighborhood but the property owners make it as easy as possible to have parking and to find them. We highly recommend the property.
This property was clean & gorgeous views!! We found this quaint little cottage a gem!
My only feedback to improve this location and inform others like myself is....
1) There is a hillside deck door on the lower level that DOES NOT have a lock on it at all. It is a private area, and would be difficult to reach, but there is a ladder/steps to reach this deck for fire purposes so it could be accessed. This was very un-nerving for 2 women on a girls trip. I did contact the owner to ask about this and she kindly told me it was a 'safe' neighborhood. This did not help me feel better in the middle of the night or coming home after dark to a new place. We were quite freaked out the first night as we were going to bed and noticed this detail (did not sleep well that night). There are also strangers renting the bottom level of this property feet away from the ladder area, near the unlocked door. So, all in all ...this was a big thing for us to feel safe.
2) The cottage was listed as having wifi. It did, but half the time our phones could not even pick up the networks (on the top or bottom floor). If we could see the signal, it was so weak that we couldn't use it (too slow).
This property was beautiful, the neighborhood quaint, and the renter's were nice. If these 2 items were addressed I would have given it a perfect rating.
If you are traveling with another party or more people, ask about "The Lookout", a separate entry apartment for 2 people (in main house) located just 10 paces from The Perch.
