Poggio il Sole lies in a top hill location with a beautiful panorama only 2 kms from the small charming village of Rigomagno, between Siena and Arezzo (both cities are around 30 Kms far away). It's a very quiet location. The house has a large garden with pool (13,5x5,5 meter), whole for private use of the tenant. It is suitable for max 8 persons. There is 1 bedroom on the ground floor (2 single beds that can be joined on request), and 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor. 2 double bedrooms (one with small en-suite toilet/shower, the other with toilet that's accessible through the balcony), 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. All the bedrooms on the 1st floor have air conditioning. There are two terraces beside the house. One is equipped with table/chairs to eat outdoors, to cook also at disposition a stone oven/barbecue. The other has a very comfortable Unopiù garden furniture and is very appreciated by all our guests. It is an ideal point of departure to visit Tuscany & Umbria. From the property in only 15 minutes driving you are on the highway Rome-Florence and in only 10 minutes on the speedway Siena-Perugia. There is a trainstation available in Sinalunga, the train brings you in around 2 hours in Rome and Florence. Shops are available in the town of Lucignano (7 Kms from the house). Lucignano, 414 above the see level, is a small town that represents one of the more extraordinary examples of medieval urban planning for its system of elliptic rings arrived intact over the centuries. There are 6/8 different restaurants in the historical center of the town. The nearest restaurant is at 3 kms from the property “Ristorante Pizzeria Scroccazucche”. There are a couple of large supermarkets near Sinalunga, 11 kms from the property. The COOP one at the shopping center "I Gelsi" is sometimes also on Sunday open. There is a large outlet & shopping center at 15 kms near the highway exit (Outlet village Valdichiana). There is a 9 holes (par 34) golf course 12 kms far away near Bettolle.

The property is really beautiful, located on the hill with the stunning view over the picturesque countryside and the medieval town of Rigomagno. There is a large swimming pool and a lovely garden, however the house itself could do with a bit of 'tender loving care'. It is a nice traditional farm house but neither well maintained nor cleaned properly, although additional cleaning fee is collected.
The description of the house was a bit misleading. The property was listed as a 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms house, while one of the bedrooms was certainly not up to the standards with mould on one wall, electric wires sticking out of the other one and a noisy water boiler inside of the room. The bathroom downstairs was very nice but the second bathroom upstairs was just a small toilet with a shower head, and can be accessed through one of the bedrooms only.
It was rather inconvenient that we had to deal with 4 different people. We booked through the travel agent who we talked to before. The check in and check out was handled by 3 different people. The owner and his son who did the ‘meet and greet’ were exceptionally nice and helpful (they gave us a lift when our car broke down on the way to the house). Sadly, the woman who turned up to do the check-out was quite opposite. She was unpleasant and her attitude was unacceptable. Clearly not a proper approach when one works in hospitality business.
The overall impression was that, although the estate is big and beautifully situated, the rental was not a good value for money when compared to the other rentals in Tuscany.
Restaurangen Scroccazucche i närmaste by kan verkligen rekommenderas.
We had a lovely few days at the villa. It's private and the grounds are beautiful. The views are amazing, especially from the pool! The BBQ was well used and the closest restaurant Scroccazucche (a short drive away) comes highly recommended!
We stayed wih 4 adults and 2 children. The location is perfect. Beautifull views from the pool area. Very central towards Siena, Arezzo en Cortona. Going down the hill you will find a very good ristorante Scroccazucche. The house is very cosy and is very practical. The second bathrooms in one of the bedrooms is better usefull is more a big toilet then a bathroom. We loved it here.
Tuscany is a region on Italy's west coast, on the Tyrrhenian sea. It is one of the most popular places to visit in a country that is itself one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. The first-time visitor to the lands of Tuscany can not but be amazed by the natural symbiosis between landscape and culture, history and the expressive means of architecture and town-planning, the urban and rural dimension, and its patrimony of art, architecture, monuments and museums. There are several reasons to visit Tuscany: some of the most important ones are visiting beautiful cities like Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Lucca, Pisa or charming town as San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, Montepulciano etc., eating Tuscan food and tasting the excellent local wines. Most of the important traditional wine producers are located along the axis formed by Florence and Siena. The most famous region is Chianti along with neighboring Montalcino and Montepulciano. Besides there are many other things you can do, for example, cycling, trekking, golf or go to a health spa. The Tuscany inland is characterized by hills, cultivated fields, farms, parish churches, castles, medieval hamlets. Tuscan mountains: in the Apuan Alps you will ascend into marble cathedrals, but you will also discover the kingdom of Lunigiana, full of enchanted caves and castles. The dazzling white of the quarries on one side and the wild, green valley of Garfagnana on the other. Go to the Casentino forests to discover their monasteries and hermitages along the way where nature is not the only thing to discover. You can be overcome by the triangular heights of Monte Amiata, so lonely, but at the same time full of roe and fallow deer, by mountains embraced in the world's most famous vineyards or by the wooded Abetone which transforms into pistes for ski lovers in the winter. There are miles and miles of pathways for trekking, mountain biking, skiing, but also for absolute rest. From southern Tuscany you can also easily visit Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy. Tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature & historic centres (the landscape is dotted with many picturesque medieval villages). Main places to visit: Perugia, Orvieto, Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Gubbio but there are also many charming little towns and villages. The climate in Tuscany is very mild. The most beautiful season is May, September and October. So the main season to travel in Tuscany is spring, summer and autumn, especially because the landscape at that time of the year is very beautiful. Usually the summers in Tuscany are warm and without rain.
