3-4 Bedroom Villa, 3 shower/bath room, child+pet friendly, St.Tropez 35 minutes

“Plein Sud” is a traditional farmhouse set in 6000 sq.m of land with its own private pool. This lovingly renovated Villa with its mature garden is surrounded by umbrella pines in the heart of vineyards. One can walk for miles without crossing any roads and the local vineyard can be reached on foot .

The spacious sitting room with high beamed ceilings and large wood burner has triple french doors leading to the wraparound patio, an archway leads to the modern open planned kitchen/dinner with more doors to the patios, gardens and pool. Of the kitchen a long hallway leads to two double bedrooms on either end, modern shower room and separate WC.

The first floor comprises an extensive library, master bedroom with views overlooking the Maures, dressing room, bathroom with cast iron bath (new) and separate shower room with WC.

An external staircase leads from the dressing room to the garden and pool.

The pool house with lounge furniture provides shade while overlooking the pool. A wide range of garden furniture and sun beds suits all moods from sunbathing to languishing in the shade is dotted around the house and garden. The large outdoors dinning table and a comfortable seating area with lounge chairs and BBQ invite you to al fresco dinning.

The house has british satellite TV,DVD and stereo in the sitting room and a Smart TV in the kitchen, as well as terrestrial french TV upstairs. A docking staition for I pods can be found outside in the poorhouse .DVDs are available in english.

The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, a wine fridge ,microwave and a 5 burner stove with a large oven as well as nearly all kitchen gadgets one can wish for.

Local Activities: There is plenty of information in the villa regarding local activities, brochures and maps of things to do. There is a very helpful tourist information center in Vidauban. Activities like canoeing, 4 wheel biking and horse riding are all close by. Other recreational facilities close to Plein Sud -apart from swimming in the private pool- include swimming at the beaches or at the nearby Lac du St. Croix, which also offers sailing and paddle boating. Golfers will be spoiled for choice with fine courses dotted along the coast and throughout the area. Also available within a short distance are mountain climbing and biking, windsurfing and kayaking. The breathtaking beauty of the Gorges de Verdon- one of the worlds most spectacular canyons is only an hours drive away.

Weather: The summer climate of the Provence is very pleasant with many hours of sunshine,very little rain and benefiting from both the Mediterranean and Alpine influences which can bring gentle, cooling breezes. All this is just perfect to enjoy a family holiday- either sitting by the pool or in a little cafe or bar, sampling the local rose wines and seeing the world go by.

The Var region and market towns: The department of the Var encompasses some of the most unspoilt communes in France, beautiful old villages like Tour Tour and Lorgues, La Garde Freinet and Callas,nesting in the hilltops nearly unchanged for centuries. Vidauban is a tranquil little village with a bustling sunday morning market, a selection of small shops, butchers,bakers, some very good restaurants and bars. There are 3 supermarkets and lots of vineyards. Other market towns nearby are Les Arc, Le Luc, Lorgues and of course St. Tropez which boast of 2 market days per week- Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Aix on Provence, The Carmargues and its white horses and pink flamingoes, glitzy Monaco and stylish Cannes are only a short drive away.

Wine tasting, local french markets, beaches or activities like cycling or hiking - the choice is yours.

After many years spend travelling and working on private luxury yachts it was time to find some roots somewhere. Still wanting to be close to the sea, but with the benefit of sun, warmth and a rural lifestyle Plein Sud just seemed the right place for a happy medium

Plein Sud is a lovely home away from home. Experience the real French country life in our beautiful rural and quiet setting. Owls hoot at night and frogs sing you to sleep. The mature gardens are sweet smelling with local herbs of lavender, rosemary and wild thyme. Fabulous walks lead directly from the house through the vineyards, no roads need to be crossed and the house and garden are extremely save for little people and animals.the private pool is for your use only, it's fenced in and not overlooked. The house is comfortable and a real home. The house gets only rented for two month of the year, the rest of the time the owners live here with their dog and horse. Bicycle riding through the vineyards or on the local roads is safe and fun for all the family. The local village provides all shopping one needs and the life here is slow and happy

What makes this farmhouse unique

Waking up with the sun streaming through the windows, running into the warm waters of the pool in the mornings and then having breakfast outside puts a smile on everybody's face. Sitting under our umbrella pines contemplating life or lounging by the pool- Plein Sud is a happy place to be.The house benefits from our eclectic collections of furniture , paintings and brick a brack accumulated during our time travelling the world. The library is extensive and interesting and the many cook books will inspire anyone interested to score the local market and produce gourmet meals with the freshest ingredients possible in the open plan kitchen/diner. This house is not just another rental villa, it is a year round lived and loved and lovingly home with all the amenities. Wifi, HD sky with full sports package,multiple TVs, will keep even the workaholics happy and connected with the outside world. Owls hoot at night and frogs sing in the evenings. It's a tranquil and happy place for all the family with plenty of room for individuality. The fully equipped kitchen might inspire foodies to try out local produce from the markets to be turned into gourmet meals . Otherwise the gaz BBQ makes easy work of providing a scrumptious evening meal with a glass of the local rose wine in hand and enjoying the stunning sunsets. However if one wants to go to the famous cities of the Cote d Azur , they are not far away with concerts, art exhibitions, museums and shops for every age group and taste.

What more could you want?

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at Plein Sud and would recommend the house highly to families or friends who want to get away from it all but enjoy comfortable and well provided accommodation. We were a family of four with two young frown ups in tow and we were all able to find a space of our own. The house is well appointed, spotlessly clean and easy to maintain. The furnishings are of high quality and the kitchen has every utensil you could possibly need. The garden is a joy, with something to appreciate in every corner and places to sit in the sun or shade. A particular strength is the pool area which feels very luxurious with day beds, loungers and a covered area with sofas, ipod dock etc. As you can probably tell the owner Angelika works hard to make her home the prefect holiday retreat for the two months she rents it out. Angelika was a joy to deal with, helpful, reassuring, and although close on hand when needed incredibly discrete and non-intrusive. We took our dog with us on holiday for the first time and he enjoyed it immensely due to the freedom he could enjoy and the number of friendly dogs in the vicinity. You can walk out in to the vineyards straight from the house and soak up the rural atmosphere. Easy trips can be made to the coast if required. A car is needed as there are no shops within walking distance, but in the car the low key town of Vidauban is minutes away. This is one of those occasions on which one is torn between telling everyone they must go there and wanting to keep a wonderful secret to enjoy over and over again. We loved it.

Formidable

Wir waren eine Woche zu Gast in Plein Sud und waren rundum zufrieden.

Das Haus ist liebevoll ausgestattet und es fehlt an nichts. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet mit einem großen Gasherd, Kühlschrank, Gefrierschrank, zusätzlich Getränke Kühlschrank, etc...

Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und stellte uns sogar ein Start Paket an Verpflegung zur Verfügung.

Die Lage im Hinterland der Massiv des Maures ist sehr ruhig, die Nachbarn allesamt sehr nett und trotzdem ausreichend weit entfernt.

Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in Vidauban (5km) reichlich, in Les Arc gibt es einen Mega Supermarkt - auch nur 10 km entfernt

Hervorragendes Ferienhaus

Dieses Haus war perfekt für uns als Großfamilie mit zwei kleinen Kindern.Das Haus ist geräumig mit geschmackvoller Einrichtung. Die Küche ist wie zu Hause ausgestattet.Der Pool wurde gut gepflegt und war zum Toben und Schwimmen gleichermaßen geeignet.

Die Lage inmitten der Landschaft ohne unmittelbare Nachbarn ist so, wie man sich die Provence vorstellt.

Es gibt gute Wandermöglichkeiten, Möglichkeiten zu ganz unterschiedlichen Ausflügen vom Mittelmeer bis zum Lac de la Croix mit Lavendelfeldern.Man kann in kleine Orte fahren, es gibt Märkte, Kultur und Natur pur.

Angelika hat uns herzlich empfangen und war sehr hilfsbereit.

'Plein Sud' idyllically tranquil beauty

Plein Sud and the surroundings are truly amazing. The house itself is a true 'Home from home' spotless, spacious and fabulously furnished

with fantastic views of the mountains and vineyards from every window.

We all loved every minute of our holiday and spent a lot of the time around the pool and spending long evenings at the East Terrace area.

We visited St Tropez, Monte Carlo, the local market in Vaubaun and on Angelika's recommendation the Grand Canyon de Verdon which is well worth the hours drive and is magnificently beautiful and very uniquely undisturbed.

A car is essential.

Angelika is a very warm, kind, extremely accomodating lady. We feel so privileged that you allowed us into your home and have given us some wonderful memories, THANKYOU.

Die Begrüßung durch die Hausherrin war sehr freundlich und warmherzig.

Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist super; geschmackvolle Einrichtung, traumhafte Lage im Pinienwäldchen mit angrenzenden Weinfeldern, ideal für Erkundungen zu Fuß.

Der Swimming pool ist wunderschön angelegt, sehr gepflegt, ideal mit genügend Platz im Schatten für heisse Tage.

Wir und unser Hund haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und werden gerne wiederkommen.

Schoenes, ruhiges Haus, Toller Pool

Wir waren im Juli 2015 mit der Familie zu Gast bei Angelika. Das Haus ist wie im Inserat beschrieben und Angelika ist eine tolle Gastgeberin, die sich sehr gut um ihre Gaeste kümmert. Am meisten genossen haben wir die ruhige Umgebung und den tollen Pool. Für Familien mit kleineren Kindern ist der Pool Dank Umzaeunung ideal.

Vidauban, the local market town lies 4 km from Plein Sud and provides the visitor with plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries, chemists and a colourful Sunday market. With easy access to St. Tropez and the coast Cote Azur, driving through the vineyards and Maures in the Provence is a pleasure. The lavender field of the Luberon are within easy reach and day trips to the Gorges de Verdon and the lake St. Croix entertain all the family.Hiring a paddleboat or kaijak and exploring the canyons is great fun for all the family. Local activities include horse riding at the Vidauban Pony Club or Centre Equestre, visits to Themeparks like Marineland , Aquaworld and the Tortue(Turtle) village, walking, kayaking, mountain climbing and parachuting., golf and tennis. Marseille, Monaco,Nice, Aix on Provence and Avignon are easily reached during a day trip and provide lots of historic information. Grasse, the city of Perfum is close by and one can create ones own scent. Cycling through the Camargue with its black bulls and white horses and a visit to the Chateau des Baux de Provence - one of the finest historic sites in France are a short drive away.

All bathrooms have been recently installed and updated with the latest technologies. They are spacious, well ventilated and all have windows, electric towel heaters and good light.

  • The upstairs bedroom overlooks the garden on two sides and the pool and has far reaching views to the Maures hills. It has its own large TV/DVD, very large desk and a book and DVD collection. Ensuite are a shower, WC and separate bathroom. The large adjoining dressing room has a daybed, wardrobe, dresser and an outside staircase to garden and pool. The garden bedrooms french windows lead into garden and towards pool with views towards the hills. A small desk and a large wardrobe provide plenty of storage. The Paddock bedroom has two large single beds which could be put together to create one large double bed. Wardrobe desk and TV/DVD Views of the paddock and Pine trees. All bedrooms have Mosquito blinds fitted on the outside.

Notes:
Wheelchairs can be used downstairs and around the garden area, all bedrooms are large and airy with large windows and outside shutters for privacy or security. 2 lots of French doors provide good airflow and easy access to the garden and pool areas. The garden is well kept and there are lot of shady places available if one should wish so. Sun awnings are on the pool house, the terraces and the front downstairs bedroom. Some pool toys are provided. The pool is weekly maintained and cleaned. Riding facilities are first class and lessons in dressage or jumping can be arranged by prior arrangement with the domaine-equestre close by, as well as Ponyrides.
