About Noe' Anna Bonas

I bought and cleared the land, designed the home for my large extended family to enjoy vacations. The house was completed in 2002 and I have enjoyed this part of Hawaii ever since.

Like me, many visitors have not wanted to miss out on this rejuvenating village, away from the crowded streets of town, to discover where the locals come to eat, drink and relax here at Kealakekua Bay with family and friends.

It does not take long for vacationers to soon treasure this place best known to the locals…. for its feeling of being “home”. There is no place like it…

Noe' Anna Bonas purchased this house in 2000

Why Noe' Anna Bonas chose Kona Coast

Once you are here at our home in Kealakekua Bay, on the big Island of Hawaii..

You can enjoy the sound of the ocean, birds, feel the sweet Kona air…and you don't have to get in the car to enjoy swimming in Kealakekua Bay.. walk to where you want to enter the bay…it is a delightful experience to go swimming with the dolphins in the bay in the morning..

This area of Hawaii is away from the crowds ,, no hotels…just outdoor enjoyment, in the water and out.

If you want to shop, join the crowds..hop in the car go up the road….then return..thankful that you are home again…rejuvenating, renewing being happy again.

We invite you and all who want to respect our home, neighbors, and enjoy the peace of our surroundings.

I can’t wait to return, thank you, your home is beautiful. The location is perfect. It will be a memorable vacation, for all of us for many years to come, from my parents to our children’s children. We all had fun. The house is perfect for our extended group. And the Bay..The dolphins and Kayaking was spectacular! My parent’s held hands and walked everywhere, and enjoyed the sunsets..

Heaven in Hawaii

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I (Judd and Faye) spent a week and enjoyed every moment. The house is beautiful, clean, well decorated just a few steps from the lovely Kealakua Bay beach, a short drive to shopping, the airport, town, and lots of interesting touring. There is so much to recommend about the house and nothing negative. We ate every meal on the deck enjoying the warm breeze and a beautiful view of the beach. We have fond memories, plan to return and have recommended the house to several friends.

P.S. it is fun to watch the Geckos that are plentiful.

What a beautiful experience

  • 5 of 5

I feel very lucky that we found this beautiful house to rent for the week. The house accommodated our family of 9 just fine - plenty of room, especially with the beautiful Lanai. We enjoyed all of our meals on the Lanai and there was lots of fun and laughter. The area itself is really special. To rent a home on Kealakekua Bay is wonderful as it is known around the world and is almost always listed on the top 10 things to do on the big Island. So very much to see in the area - You can see the dolphins (which is just a short walk) at about 8:15AM. You can also walk down to a very nice park anytime and enjoy the water and beautiful surroundings. There is a nice beach with white sand, which is a short distance (ask Anna about it), perfect snorkeling spot - so nice to be able to snorkel from shore and see the kinds of fish that we did. My father in law is the type of person who gets bored on vacation and is ready to go home after about 4 or 5 days, but he didn't want to leave, there is literally so much to do and see. Everyone in my family said what made the vacation so special was the fact that we were so close to the water and had access to everything that Kealakekua Bay has to offer. This location was perfect - And honestly the ease of access to the water, to the town, and to everything on the island while still giving us the option to be away from the crowds was everything to us. We felt really at home and Anna accommodated our family in every way imaginable. The refrigerator wasn't working when we got there, but she had a new one by the end of the day. You will never have to worry that you wont be able to get a hold of anyone if you run into a problem, Anna goes above and beyond and is always reachable. She is very trustworthy. There is a National Park close by, Volcano National Park is about 75-80 miles away (the drive goes fast), great Luau very close, Manta Ray dive was a big hit with my husband and nephew - If you are on the fence about where to stay you can end your search here because you have found the perfect place.

Had a great vacation here

  • 5 of 5

We spent 8 days at the house with three big families. The open floor plan of the house is great for socializing and we had dinner on the lanai every night with 10 adults and 3 little kids. You can hear the ocean from the house. The water is a short walk away and sunsets were beautiful. There are great places to snorkel nearby just a short drive. The only thing is with 3 kids under 4 years old, there was no place for them to get in the water within walking distance. We had to drive to a beach for them to be able to get in the water. Otherwise our stay was great and Anna and Catherine were very helpful.

Owner's Response: It was wonderful having you here. Sorry the waves were unusually rough in the bay. The bay is typically flat, and Manini Beach park with it's grassy area of tables and benches and view of the bay has families gathering to enjoy the inlet at the bay which children of all ages safely play in the calm waters. I myself am a strong swimmer and often snorkel in the warm clear water of the bay, however in these past weeks all of adults have not gone in. I am happy that you created a safe vacation for you and the kids in the several places nearby that are more protected calm waters to snorkel and play. Generally each morning I swim in the bay with the dolphins and colorful tropical fish. My daughter grew up playing with her friends in the bay and I felt happy that it was a safe place for them to swim. This morning there are kayaks, snorkelers in the bay... it is calm and the dolphins are jumping. Mahalo nui loa for your stay. warm aloha Anna

Retreat group from Europe had a wonderful time and loved the house.

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 11 adults who all fell in love with the house and the area. The house has great energy, is very open and light. The garden is beautiful as well with tropical fruit trees and the ocean just a two min walk. The caretaker of the house was also very accommodating. The house is well equipped and had everything we needed. The only downfall was the upper section floor being a bit dusty and not clean when we arrived. Also good to know that it is a quiet neighborhood after 10pm. The tap water is drinkable which is a big plus. We are very thankful for a wonderful stay and looking forward to be back. In the meantime we can highly recommend you to rent this house. Aloha

Owner's Response: Aloha Susanna…. I am happy you enjoyed your stay. Yes, many students of your group said how happy they were here, it was so heartwarming to hear them say they were having such a magical and meaningful time, loving the healing energy, and they want to return. The area and house have been blessed by many kapunas [elders] and kahunas [Priests] which add to its special energy of sitting within a sacred triangle of healing temples. Our home has been enjoyed by many families and groups coming to the area to swim with dolphins here in Kealakekua Bay, together with exploring other magical places on the Big Island. Thank you for mentioning that the bamboo floor upstairs was dusty, I will make sure that is taken care of more closely. A hui hou… We look forward to your return. Vacation in paradise

  • 5 of 5

We are an extended and international family, and we mindfully enjoyed one week in this quiet corner of the paradise. This is not for tourists who enjoy Disney like paradise, this is an authentic home with a kind discrete host who made sure that we had everything we needed. Anna was always available to guide us for activities, and the house even had snorkeling equipment so we could enjoy an amazing experience and swimming with dolphins (from afar so we don't stress them out)

The house has everything you need and some more, is very clean and the views are magnificent!

We enjoyed the patio the most, very comfy, right in the middle of a luxurious tropical jungle. With friendly geckos and no mosquitoes!

In the end, some of this place's peace transferred into us to carry and nourish us into our busy lives.

We told Anna that we will come back with family and more friends!

I stayed at this wonderful house in November. The first thing I noticed when I arrived at the house is the beautiful landscape surrounding the house; it's an engaging tropical paradise. Entering the house was just as engaging.... clean, airy and spacious, but the most engaging thing was the feeling of it being peaceful.

There are stairs that go from the ground level to the main floor, but the best part is an elevator that does the same... so don't worry if you have packed big suitcases and stopped at Costco on your way to the house.

At the top of the stairs is a large lanai with a dining table that can easily accommodate ten. The lanai is also a wonderful place to sit on the lounge chairs and just enjoy the surroundings. The high ceilings and windows in the open kitchen and living room provide a feeling of openness and light. The kitchen is ready for those who only want to make a cup of coffee or cook a full-course meal. Or you can bbq on the large, covered lanai on the ground level. The three bedrooms on the main floor are well situated and can accommodate six people with a feeling of privacy and space. But, my favorite part of the house is the upstairs bedroom/great room. There is a feeling of openness and light and space. There is a sliding glass door to a lanai that opens to the mountain side of the house and a sliding glass door to a lanai that opens to the ocean side. From the room, you can see Kealakekua Bay... a beautiful and tranquil sight. And, actually, you can hear the ocean from both the main and top floors. The top room is a wonderful place for children or young adults to have their own space away from the adults, and is arranged to easily and comfortably accommodate another five adults or children.

The house is located just a couple of minutes walk to the bay, so no need to try and find a parking place! And, if you don't know... this is the bay where people come to swim with the dolphins! Oh... and the house comes equipped with kayaks!!

It's very common for Hawaiian houses to not have air conditioning, but there can be a concern about whether a house has enough air circulation. Not for this house however! High ceilings, lots of windows, sliding glass doors and ceiling fans keep the house at a very comfortable temperature.

The owner is a wonderful person... no need to worry about making your reservation and knowing everything will be what you expect.
