Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly Rental Of A Beautiful Condo, Sleeps 2 to 4 Guests
I love Cuenca, its welcoming people and culture. Like so many people who have chosen to make this place their permanent home, I am sure I have made the right decision in buying this apartment.
Joe purchased this Condo in 2015
Why Joe chose Cuenca
The view from the building is absolutely stunning. Our realtor said: "There are some apartments in Cuenca with nice views, but to get an entire view of the city and all the mountains surrounding it, this is it!"
What makes this Condo unique
The apartment is on the north side of El Centro, about 15 minute walk uphill from the Cathedral, or 10 minute walk downhill, or about $1.50 to $2.00 taxi ride. Being on the north side and on the hill, one can escape the downtown congestion, the exhaust from the buses, and the noise (honking) from the cars.

It's all right here!
Studying view of the city. This condo has it all.
Comfort and convenience with a bird's-eye view of the city
This ultra-modern apartment is essentially perfect, with a lot of thought having gone into making sure guests have a good stay. The kitchen is very well equipped, and it's very convenient to have a dryer as well as a washing machine.
The living-dining room is well furnished, and has a spectacular view over the city.
The beds are excellent, as are the showers, and the huge closets have room and to spare for your stuff. The slight downside is that there's a lot of traffic noise, but we got used to it and it didn't bother us. Being out of the centre, it's also far less loud and polluted than the centre itself.
At the same time, it's only about a ten-minute downhill walk to the Parque Calderón, and if one's burdened or not in the mood for the uphill return, taxis are ubiquitous and cheap - $1.50 from most of downtown.
We highly recommend the farmers' markets for cheap fresh vegetables and FABULOUS fruit. 9 de octubre is the closest but a bit more expensive, 10 de agosto still an easy walk and taxi home with the goodies, Feria Libre the cheapest and farthest, but the no. 16 bus is practically door to door (on the way home, stay on till avenida de las Americas and walk down, rather than getting off at Heroes de Verdeloma and having the two steepest blocks to walk up.
Finally, the information package Joe has put together for guests is exceptional, and the onsite managers, who live next door, are lovely - really nice, truly helpful, but never intrusive.
fabulous condo over looking the city. a must stay at unit.
We stayed in Joe's unit for 9 days and were not disappointed by the unit. we have traveled all over the world and are use to places not looking like the pictures. Not this place. If the real thing could look better than the pictures, this is the one. Big, open and nicely done. the kitchen is fully stocked with every thing you need. King size bed and pillows were just like home. Joe was easy to work with. He sent lots of useful information that could be used to help select places to eat and visit. we were met by his neighbor Danica and Ron who walked us through the unit and told us how to operate all of the appliances. They made us feel welcome and were there when we needed them. check in was a breeze. small building and the owners there were all friendly. we stayed busy for all of the days with things to do in and around town. we visited all of the small towns around Cuenca and had a fun time. devil nose train was worth the 3 hour trip and also visited the inca ruins about an hour and a half away. if you are looking for an interesting vacation this is the town and This unit is an absolute must for those who are seeking only the best. Thanks Joe for renting you wonderful unit to us.
Beautiful Condo, Nice Location, Great Value
We looked through all sorts of lodging and rental accommodations, and settled on this condo. We wanted to have extra space and a comfortable stay, and this place more than delivered. When we checked in, we were a little stunned by the beautiful views over the city from the very large windows. The photos don’t do it justice. The property manager was friendly, welcoming and thorough during the orientation. The master bedroom is large and has a comfortable king size bed. We slept very well. The kitchen is large and well equipped. We also really liked the strong water pressure and plentiful hot water in the showers, which felt really nice after walking around all day.
Overall the condo is beautiful inside and out. We travel a lot, and we feel that this condo ranks at the top of the many places we have stayed before. It provides North American comfort and amenities that can be missing in other highly rated places. Great value. Highly recommended.
Clean, modern, convenient apartment near old town with beautiful view.
The apartment was very nice and the kitchen is well equipped. I enjoyed reading in the office while friends watched tv in the livingroom area. The bedrooms are in rooms that face the street which can get busy from 6AM to 10PM. . .take earplugs. Only TV was in living room area. Modern plumbing was wonderful. Large washing machine and dryer was so convenient. The apartment is up on a hill providing a lovely view of the whole valley of Cuenca.
I recently stayed at the "Cuenca Vista" apartment for a 4-week visit. I can vouch for and concur with the positive comments and praise offered in previous reviews. Rather than simply repeat many of these positive comments, I will offer what I believe may be useful for others considering staying at this location in Cuenca.
First, Joe (the owner) was extremely helpful in preparing me with practical information about the location, the city, and the people of Cuenca. On all of my various inquiries, Joe promptly replied and provided me with answers to my questions.
Upon arrival, the apartment was extremely clean and ready for a tenant. It has everything necessary as a "second home", including full kitchen and cleaning supplies and equipment. The view from several windows in the unit may be one of the best vantage points in all of Cuenca. The building has a secure door at street level and a clean, functional elevator. The building is new relative to most in the city. The other tenants in the building were very quiet and there is little to no tenant related noise. The nearby streets, however are audible, especially in the early morning and at afternoon rush hour, but I did get accustomed to it within a day or two, but wish I had some earplugs which I could not find in the city. The surrounding area is residential and I felt safe at all hours inside and out of the building. Access to essential services (grocery stores, small shops, El Centro) is easily managed on foot. Most of the better restaurants are located closer to the city center. There is a formidable hill that leads up from El Centro to the building. Once I became more acclimated to the elevation, the hill became an excellent workout. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive, as are the local buses for which there is a stop within 100 yards of the building. The apartment manager was extremely helpful upon my arrival and stayed in contact with me every few days to ensure my stay was going well. The apartment is spacious and would be very comfortable with a degree of privacy for 4 people. The internet service is very good, however my connection was noticeably poorer when I was in the bedroom area, furthest from the modem. The TV package is adequate, with English, Spanish and some music channels. There are a number of good DVD titles on hand.
I would highly recommend this property for your Cuenca visit. You will not be disappointed. My stay was a very rewarding experience on every level.
