We have spent alot of time in the Lake District and we have our favourite places which now Limefitt Park is one of them.

We have had a very relaxing time and done some lovely walks despite the weather (typical lakes). Lodge facilites fantastic, weather ok, views from the lodge - priceless ! (will miss them).

Thanks for a great holiday. Have a feeling we may be back..

A peaceful, relaxing & tranquil weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved the lodge, such a lovely place the stay. Everything had been thought through and taken care of and made our stay that bit more enjoyable. We arrived on Friday afternoon and was greeted by lovely staff on the reception to receive the fob & directions. When we arrived at the lodge, Bash & Donna had left a small box of chocolates and lovely note to wish us a happy stay. This was a really nice idea & made us feel very homely and welcome.

The lodge was very well set out and spacious leaving us plenty of room. There was 4 of us staying in the lodge and didn't feel at any point cramped or squashed in. The master bedroom had its own en suite which was handy as 4 women getting ready can be abit of a pain. We could of just benefitted from a couple of extra mirrors near the plug sockets!!

The kitchen/dining area was great too, with plenty of utensils and everything we needed! We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony as the weather was lovely & had amazing views!!

We would definitely recommend this lodge to anybody looking to stay here. We are about to book our next trip as we speak!!

Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Comfortable Accommodation in a Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently spent a very comfortable week at the Lodge. Everything was just as described. The property was clean and all of the equipment worked. Although we did not meet the owners, they ensured that we had all necessary information for a trouble free break and we appreciated their helpful e-mails and texts, which reflected their desire to give good service. There are good views from the lodge across the valley, the location was peaceful and the Haybarn Restaurant on the site was fine. We often saw badgers near the lodge and spotted a deer too.

There is lots of good walking straight from the doorstep and we only used our car on two out of the six days of our stay. We spent a day on the mountaintops, explored Troutbeck on foot and walked to Holehird Gardens (suberb!) We also thoroughly enjoyed Town End in Troutbeck and Blackwell Arts and Crafts House, south of Bowness. Also, Matthew's Bistro in Ambleside was good, particularly before 7.00 pm, when it is cheaper.

We are very much hoping to return to the lodge and thoroughly recommend it. You had just better not book when we want to go!

Fantastic holiday in a lovely lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic family holiday at Fellside Lodge. The lodge is well maintained, very clean and had everything we needed and more. The views are stunning and it's very easy to use this as a base to see lots of places in the Lake District. We even saw badgers at night next to the lodge!

The owner was very efficient and helpful. We hope to go back again in the future.

Comfortable, relaxing, romantic

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Bash and Donna's lodge in January. The lodge site was easily found from the road and there was a parking spot right outside the lodge that fit our Fiat Panda perfectly. The lodge was fully equipped to ensure our stay was as confortable and just like home as possible. We felt very relaxed the entire time. I would recommend to anyone to stay here, it was perfect!

Ideal family lodge

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic lodge set in a lovely park. All amenities and facilities you could possibly need for a short break. 10 min drive from Windermere, 15 min from Ambleside. Breathtaking views across the fells towards Troutbeck. Hosts so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Perfect for a family of four. Can highly recommend.

Whatever your age, whether you want to enjoy the many attractions that the Lake District has to offer. This is where you come to get away from it all! Wordsworth was born here and it’s not surprising that the treasures of these lands inspire a little poetry in us all!

Designated as a National Park in 1951, South Lakeland has something to offer visitors at all times of the year, in all seasons. Autumn and Winter provide snow capped fells, spectacular scenery and numerous possibilities for the outdoor pursuits lover, whilst during the spring and summer months the area blossoms fully into life with many country fairs, attractions, events and shows.

Countryside Activities

There are plenty of ways to see the local countryside. Hire a mountain bike and explore the lakes on two wheels, or why not take a trip on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where working steam locomotives and comfortable coaches roll through the beautiful Leven Valley to Haverthwaite and back.
