A peaceful, relaxing & tranquil weekend!!
Absolutely loved the lodge, such a lovely place the stay. Everything had been thought through and taken care of and made our stay that bit more enjoyable. We arrived on Friday afternoon and was greeted by lovely staff on the reception to receive the fob & directions. When we arrived at the lodge, Bash & Donna had left a small box of chocolates and lovely note to wish us a happy stay. This was a really nice idea & made us feel very homely and welcome.
The lodge was very well set out and spacious leaving us plenty of room. There was 4 of us staying in the lodge and didn't feel at any point cramped or squashed in. The master bedroom had its own en suite which was handy as 4 women getting ready can be abit of a pain. We could of just benefitted from a couple of extra mirrors near the plug sockets!!
The kitchen/dining area was great too, with plenty of utensils and everything we needed! We enjoyed eating breakfast on the balcony as the weather was lovely & had amazing views!!
We would definitely recommend this lodge to anybody looking to stay here. We are about to book our next trip as we speak!!
Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Every need was catered for, lovely location
Fellside Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. We were two couples and with two bedrooms and two bathrooms (1 en-suite), it suited our needs perfectly, although it would also suit a family with children. Very well equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Very clean and extremely well presented. Although this Lodge is on a site with many others, it didn't feel that way, with views across to the hills on the other side of the valley. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We also had wonderful communication before and after the stay with Bash (Owner). We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and you only need to look at the guest book in the Lodge to see that other visitors have done exactly that!
Tranquil Haven to Return To
This was our first visit to the Lake District. In retrospect we are very pleased with the location we chose: convenient to towns we wanted to visit (Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Sedgwick, etc.), to hikes we wanted to take (Rydal Water, Skelwith Bridge-Colwith Force, Lancaster Canal, etc.), and to historic sites (Townend in Troutbeck, Jesus Church, etc.), but itself not a town - quiet and scenic. At the end of each day of hiking it was a delight to go back to a spotlessly clean, well-appointed lodge (just as portrayed in the description) with all the facilities we needed. I contacted the owner several times in anticipation of and during our visit and he always returned to me speedily, able to graciously provide the information I needed.
We ate in vegetarian restaurants in Ambleside (Zefferelli's), at Skelwith Bridge (Chester's) and Kendal (Waterside); they were all excellent. We took the boat ride from Boness to Ambleside - nothing special. The Townend house in adjacent Troutbeck is a real treat; it is very worth while to take the guided tour. We also enjoyed the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry which is with the Abbot Hall Art Gallery in Kendal (a short stroll from the Waterside Cafe).
In short, this was a wonderful place to stay for our holiday week. I would recommend this lodging without reservation.
Perfect Lodge in a Cracking Location
Our 4th visit to Fellside Lodge. The lodge itself is immaculate, and the Limefitt site is very well maintained. Troutbeck is the perfect location for the lakes, be that close such as brockhole, or slightly further like Ullswater. Bash and Donna provide excellent communications beforehand and this, together with their lodge, is the reason we keep coming back. Thank you xx
A home away from home
This property is meticulously kept, set in the gorgeous English countryside if limefit park. The home is well appointed, comfortable, with an amazingly equipped kitchen. The beds are super comfy, tons of hot water, and well insulated. We loved the views and the hosts at limefit park. The pub, game room and laundry were all excellent. Donna and Bash were excellent hosts, communicated very well and were so kind to allow us to check in a bit early. We would stay here all year if we could and hope to return, an easy drive to many towns, hikes and of course the lakes. The only thing we would change is to stay longer. Thank you Donna and Bash, truly 5 star hosts!!!!!
Beautiful lodge, very well equipped and maintained.
As above, clean, well equipped and a home from home in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful and calm and restful.
Whatever your age, whether you want to enjoy the many attractions that the Lake District has to offer. This is where you come to get away from it all! Wordsworth was born here and it’s not surprising that the treasures of these lands inspire a little poetry in us all! Designated as a National Park in 1951, South Lakeland has something to offer visitors at all times of the year, in all seasons. Autumn and Winter provide snow capped fells, spectacular scenery and numerous possibilities for the outdoor pursuits lover, whilst during the spring and summer months the area blossoms fully into life with many country fairs, attractions, events and shows. Countryside Activities There are plenty of ways to see the local countryside. Hire a mountain bike and explore the lakes on two wheels, or why not take a trip on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where working steam locomotives and comfortable coaches roll through the beautiful Leven Valley to Haverthwaite and back.
