A haven of peace and great beauty

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at 'en croup bas' several times, and hope to repeat the experience. This is the perfect destination when I am looking to have a completely relaxing, stress- free true holiday. The house/gite are beautifully situated, with open views, very private, yet close enough to town and supermarkets to give easy access to both. The accommodation is spacious and immaculately kept, as are the pool and gardens. Suzie and Mike are the perfect hosts, helpful and friendly, and should you choose to have them prepare your evening meals, you can't fail to be impressed. There are many places to visit in the area, but you will need a car.

This was our 5th stay at En Croup Bas. Superb!

  • 5 of 5

The gite is so well appointed and comfortable and if you do find that you need something, Suzie or Mike will soon find it for you. This time, we were spoilt with the most wonderful weather - between 28 and 40c for our 10 day stay - it couldn't have been better. Most mornings were spent returning to favourite haunts but we also managed to find new places to visit. A list of our most enjoyable places to visit would include: Puycelci, Les jardins des Martels near Giroussens, Cordes sur Ciel, Revel market on Saturday mornings, Albi, the Chateaux de Lastours and many of the local little villages. This year we went to Carcassonne. It is a stunning place architecturally, but to avoid the crowds (it is a magnet for tourists from all over the world), our advice it to arrive there very early in the morning. Most afternoons were spent lazing by the pool (or in the pool!) with the occasional cuddle with Louis, the most affectionate cat I have come across. As always, we had a most wonderful meal cooked by Suzie and also this year we had a superb meal at the Cap de Castel hotel in Puylaurens. Well worth a visit! This may have been our 5th visit, but we still found so much to do and the hot weather was such a welcome bonus! Thank you Suzi and Mike for making us so welcome and being the perfect hosts....again!

A Happy Return

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Suzie and Mike's wonderful place. After our first visit we were eagerly looking foward to our second trip - and we are not disappointed. The house is most comfortable, well appointed and if by any chance you can't find what you want ..... Suzie and Mike will have it. Don't miss the chance to enjoy Suzie's excellent cooking when you're needing a break from the kitchen. She and Mike are excellent hosts and make you feel so welcome. They are full of information about places worth visiting. The pool is a great attraction and for those who don't swim there is plenty of shade under the sun umbrellas and comfortable sun loungers. A not to be missed experience!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We agree with everything that's been said in the reviews and would actually like to give it at least 6 out of 5. We were looking forward to a relaxing pleasurable holiday and it was all that and so much more. The pool is a joy and then to relax beside it with beautiful views was great. Suzies cooking is delicious we just couldn't manage all the courses as the portions were so generous (well some of us did!). Suzie and Mike's helpful tips and suggestions made travelling about easier - so much to see and do we are booked to go back to this beautifully appointed gite. Book early to avoid disappointment!!

Idyllic Rural Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had the most lovely family break staying in this wonderful property. The owners, Suzie & Mike are perfect hosts who ensured our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The gite is perfectly clean and well equipped. It looks out over a stunning view of (whilst we were there) sunflowers fields to the Pyrenees beyond. We used the pool most days which was a perfect size and tended to every day to keep it clean and tidy. We cant wait to go back as our holiday was so lovely. Thank you Mike & Suzie!

Brilliant holiday

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic holiday in wonderful accommodation . Lovely hosts who made us welcome and were always on hand with help and advice. Weather was kind for April, and the views to the Pyrenees were stunning.

Lots of places to visit, super local markets and interesting towns and villages. Would really recommend for those looking for somewhere to wind and chill out for a week or two.
