About Shane Quimby

Hi! My name is Shane Quimby and I am the proud owner of 'The Quimby Cabin'; that's a picture of me building that deck out back. Originally from a small farm town in Illinois, I have been involved in the Yellowstone area for the past nine years and it's been my home for three years. I am a craftsman with a woodworking business in Gardiner, MT called Badger Creek Rustic Furniture. I have put my whole heart and soul into restoring this home and have tried to create a space that mirrors what I feel in this area: peace, tranquility, and happiness. I have decided to open my home up to people from all of the world. I do hope you'll come and stay awhile, just soaking in that morning sunrise.

Why Shane Quimby chose Gardiner

This property has the best view in all of Gardiner. The cabin sits above the Yellowstone River and looks directly into Yellowstone National Park with views of the Black Canyon of the Yellowstone, Rattlesnake Butte, and Mount Everts all from the kitchen window. Wildlife including elk, bison, bighorn sheep, mule deer, marmots and other critters have been known to walk around the property, even bed down in the back yard. Other animals spotted in the surrounding hillsides includes black bear, wolves, coyotes, foxes, waterfowl, and various song birds. This property is also within walking distance of the best restaurants in town and a short drive from the North Entrance. It's convenient, comfortable, and cozy.

Great way to spend a Fall weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Shane's house is welcoming and feels like a home.

We had a wonderful trip. So close to YNP you can yell over to it.

He stopped to answer any questions or help with advice on Gardiner and the area.

Loved Quimby Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Our favorite parts were the views and the snowfall! The cabin was very comfortable and had many amenities. It was just right for our family. We loved Shane's rustic furnishings throughout the cabin. We wish we could have stayed longer, and hope we can return again.

Quinby Cabin was just what we wanted

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was close to the park, had great views of the Yellowstone river and had all the things needed for a great stay....also, being able to get to the Yellowstone River part of the park was great-the fishing was very good and there were no other people around-not even a bear.

This is a perfectly located home for a trip to Yellowstone. Gorgeous views, well maintained!

  • 5 of 5

Well stocked home with everything you could think of. Kitchen supplies, condiments, BBQ, ice chest for day trips. Gorgeous view, we Bbqed a couple night, it made the trip so much more enjoyable than eating over priced, unappetizing National Park food. The home was clean, well stocked with homey furniture, blankets, towels, paper supplies. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of staying at this property! We would rebook in a minute!
