When the owners purchased this Unit, they had the pick of the complex. They chose this Unit for the following reasons:
- Just steps to one of the 'quiet' pools
- Lovely ocean view
- Walk out onto the wide expansive green belt
- Private location

Wailea Resort is a 1500 acre, master-planned resort located on Maui's sunny, southern coast. Nearby are Wailea's many amenities, including superb fine dining experiences, championship golf courses, tennis facilities, shopping, and pristine, white sand beaches.
Owner is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Hawaii. Tax license for condo is GE/TAT-041-081-2416-01 The family have been residents of Maui since 1972 and chose this special apartment for their Maui beachhome in 1975.
Helen MacArthur purchased this condo in 1975
because of its midlevel location, the apartment has a lovely ocean
view and enjoys a garden like grassy area above one of the quiet pools. There is also a paddle tennis court nearby which has been enjoyed for the more active guests and their families.
We had the choice of many properties in 1975 and chose this location for its ocean view and proximity to paddle tennis courts and to the pool while enjoying the grassy lawn area in front to afford a more residential atmosphere.
Ekahi Village was the perfect stay for our family with small children. The pool was a short walk but pleasant walk from our unit with convenient access to the beach. A little uphill on the way back, but easy to do. The gardens are beautiful!
Out unit was clean with a well equipped kitchen and overall exactly as listed. The dining and living area is carpeted which is a bit worrisome with messy eaters. Luckily the the lanai also has a dining area and we preferred to eat outside.
Helen (the owner) responded promptly to emails and accommodated us on a late check out and also recommended a company to rent a baby crib and high chair from. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives!
We stayed for 9 days in this fantastic condo in Wailea. It was a beautiful space, very clean with modern updates and had everything we could possibly need.. a full kitchen, a great patio with bbq,and came with its own beach chairs, boogie boards, etc... It is located in the gorgeous Wailea Ekahi Village which is family friendly and has beautiful grounds. Walking distance to the beach and several pools. We will definitely plan to return here again!
Stayed for 10 days in January, 2015. The unit was very nicely renovated. Great, well stocked kitchen and outdoor grill, which made eating-in a very pleasant alternative to going out all the time. The only downfall was this unit was so spacious, beautiful and in such a great location that the rest of the family spent all their time here! A few tips:
-- The "quiet" pool right outside the door is not heated like the beachfront.
-- The gate from the pool to the greenway locks at night with no way (that we could see) to get back in. This became an issue when we walked down the beachfront path for dinner or drinks at one of the hotels. Maybe there is a better way to do this and open the inner pool gate but we couldn't figure this out.
-- If you plan to use the charcoal grill by the beachside pool try to get there a little early to stake out your part of the grill and tables. As someone mentioned there are refrigerators which is helpful.
-- The shower in the master bath sprays out a little on the floor; no biggie but just don't leave anything dry there when you hop in the shower
-- By all means walk up the path to the Andaz and have a drink at the upper pool bar. Great staff, a top memory from our trip. They will mix up specialty cocktails if you give them an ingredient or mixer you particularly like. Also gave us great tips for other local places to try out.
A great condo and renting with Helen was a breeze. Highly recommended.
The condo was great and as advertised. Newly remodeled, with well appointed kitchen and BBQ. You are steps away from a small "quiet" pool. A bit of a hike down to the larger pool (especially with a small child), but totally doable. It's also nice that the larger pool area has fridges, so you can take down snacks and drinks for the day and keep from walking back and forth. The bed in the master was comfortable, and there is a private lanai off the master which was great for us to relax on after we put our child to bed on the sofa bed in the living room. The unit had boogie boards, beach towels, snorkel equipment, sand toys, and beach chairs, all in great condition, which made traveling with a kid great. The beach is extremely close and very nice. It would be a long walk to the Wailea shops, but it's a super fast drive. There is a Safeway not far down the freeway which I thought had pretty reasonable prices for stocking up on some meals and snacks to save $$ while in Maui. The complex was very nice and well maintained. Booking online through VRBO was challenging, but Helen was super responsive to all my questions and made sure we were all booked and ready. She even let us get into the unit early, which was great after flying 5 hours with a toddler. We are already planning another trip there with extended family, this place was a great find!
Beautiful Unit Well-located and well-equipped.. We've been renting for over ten years. It's always in great shape and if anything is needed, the owners respond immediately. They are very accommodating and nice to deal with.
In short: Great place to stay. Condo was as advertised (Clean, newly refurbished, new appliances, etc.) I love bottom floor units because it means larger lanai and an easy walk to the pool and beach. The bed was super comfortable. The pull out sofa bed was a bit springy (what you would expect from a sofa bed). There was always ample parking. Living room was easy to relax in (large TV). The beach is about a 5-10 min walk downhill, depending on your pace…and it’s an awesome beach that’s good for all ages. From this unit it is a bit of a hike to the shops at Wailea, but a very short drive.
