The farmhouse was totally renovated in 2015 and has new bathroom with a large rain head shower. The kitchen was remodeled with new appliances as well as a new water heater and new HVAC. The farmhouse has 100 year old reclaimed beams from a tobacco barn in Virginia. Although quiet and somewhat secluded, it is only a ten minute drive to downtown Franklin with all its restaurants and antique shops. It is only a 30 minute drive to Highlands and many other small towns in the area eg. Waynesville, Asheville, Dillsboro, and Dillard and Clayton, GA.

About Alex Pringle
My wife, Susan, and I live in Florida, but we have been coming to Franklin, NC, for many years because we love the location and the people are so friendly. We have been married for 28 years. I am an ex-professional soccer player born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Susan is a native Floridian and has worked as a paralegal her entire career.
Alex Pringle purchased this Farmhouse in 2014
Why Alex Pringle chose Franklin
We purchased this property primarily because of the central location and the awesome mountain views.

Wonderful August getaway!
Alex and Susan’s farmhouse is a wonderful place for a getaway. Whether you are looking just to hang out and relax or take some day trips filled with beautiful mountain scenery, hiking, kayaking or antiquing this is a great starting point. Franklin is very close and it has some nice restaurants and shopping. The home itself has everything you could need complete with amazing bird life, deer, and other woodland wildlife.
Glad you got to see our wildlife.
The perfect vacation spot!!
The "adorable farmhouse on four acres" was the perfect spot to escape the heat of the lowcountry. Alex provided everything that you could need to enjoy the mountains in July. The view was spectacular from the front porch and we also enjoyed all the birds, squirrels, butterflies, deer, and even a hedgehog. The surrounding towns were great but we were always ready to come back to the front porch and the view--especially at sunset. We would love to return in the fall or winter to experience another season. Thank-you for a wonderful vacation.
Thank you Anne for the really nice review
If you are looking for a place to just relax and unwind, this is the place. My wife and I decided to get out of the Florida heat by taking a long weekend in the mountains and found the farm house to be the perfect get away. The décor is wonderful and the accommodation are top notch. Being able to just sit on the porch and enjoy the quiet peaceful mountain surroundings was just what we were looking for. Relaxing, but not boring, as there was constant activity in the field with several deer, woodchucks, countless butterflies, hummingbirds, cardinals, yellow finches and even an eagle flying, circling over in the evening. Our dog Cash loved their dog park, not your typical dog park, this would be your dogs private dog park, a huge area for your dog to run. The pictures on the website capture the true splendor of this place but not all of it. We are looking forward to coming back next year for a longer stay. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful farmhouse with us.
Thank you Mark
Glad you enjoyed the farmhouse as much as we do.
Simply the best VRBO property! 6 stars!
Beautiful Farm House and Even Better View!
This is an amazingly charming and quaint farm house WITH air conditioning even! Hard to find up here but made our stay quite comfortable. The surrounding land is green and lovely, well cared for and the mountain views are amazing. Four deer came into the meadow each night, bird viewing was plentiful and coffee on the peaceful porch was delightful. We loved our time here and even had cell reception and internet! Thank you!
Thanks for the great review.
Joyfully Inviting! The farmhouse was that and so much more.
We have stayed in many VRBOs, cabins, and hotels in/near GSMNP area for over 30 years. This farmhouse was by far the best! It’s the perfect little house for relaxing and soakingup “nature goodies” God has provided us. We enjoyed peaceful relaxation, fresh air, blue skies, the mountains, deer, fox, bunnies, squirrels, and a variety of song birds...all from the beautiful front porch as we rocked our cares away. The owners have paid such close attention to details. We had everything we needed! It was like their house was ours. The flowers made it inviting as did the trail, the doggy area for our two chihuahuas, and the sitting areas outside. You could relax in so many neat places. We loved the windows and all the natural light as well as the farmhouse touches in decor. This was the perfect place to stay as we took day trips to Highlands, Dillard, Bryson City, NOC, Clayton, and Cherokee. Something we’ve not experienced before when staying away from home was the anticipation of arriving back to the farmhouse each day to see what surprises were to be revealed! The Pond House Farm is a hidden gem. One could make a great vacation just staying there and not traveling. Our two puppies loved it, too! We look forward to coming back in the fall! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home on VRBO!
The farmhouse is located about 10 minutes from Main Street Franklin, 20 minutes from Clayton, GA, and about 30 minutes to Highlands. We recommend the Sunset for breakfast, Gazebo for lunch, and Root and Barrel, Café Rel and Thai Paradise for dinner in Franklin. Mulligan's is a local sports pub with good food. A day trip up Highway 64 past the lakes and waterfalls to Highlands is a must see drive. If you are looking for antiques, there are several good antique shops in Franklin, Dillard and Clayton. The nearby area has a lot of great hiking trails for you to explore. You can also enjoy zip lining and sledding in the winter in Scaly Mt.
