The farmhouse was totally renovated in 2015 and has new bathroom with a large rain head shower. The kitchen was remodeled with new appliances as well as a new water heater and new HVAC. The farmhouse has 100 year old reclaimed beams from a tobacco barn in Virginia. Although quiet and somewhat secluded, it is only a ten minute drive to downtown Franklin with all its restaurants and antique shops. It is only a 30 minute drive to Highlands and many other small towns in the area eg. Waynesville, Asheville, Dillsboro, and Dillard and Clayton, GA.

About Alex Pringle
My wife, Susan, and I live in Florida, but we have been coming to Franklin, NC, for many years because we love the location and the people are so friendly. We have been married for 28 years. I am an ex-professional soccer player born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Susan is a native Floridian and has worked as a paralegal her entire career.
Alex Pringle purchased this Farmhouse in 2014
Why Alex Pringle chose Franklin
We purchased this property primarily because of the central location and the awesome mountain views.

Beautiful, serene farmhouse stay
Alex and Susan were amazing. They communicate prior to and during the trip to ensure I had an amazing stay. The farmhouse is everything pictured and more. It is cozy and beautifully rustic. It is located minutes from Franklin, NC and there are nice hiking trails around. It rained for part of my stay and I enjoyed staying indoors and reading in front of the fireplace. I highly recommend this place!
Beautiful and comfy home, perfect for a nice getaway
We had such a wonderful time at this wonderful little farmhouse. It was great to have such a comfy place to come back to to rest and warm up after exploring outside in the middle of winter! I was amazed at how great the heating was, even without lighting the fireplace! The yard was huge and had much to explore in itself! There’s a cute little trail just behind the home that leads to an amazing view. The view from inside the living room and bedroom alone made me never want to leave! If it weren’t so cold and wet outside, I would’ve loved to have spent more time on the porch or by the outdoor fire pit and picnic table. This place was wonderful and perfect to recharge. We’ll be back!
Well-appointed, cozy farmhouse was perfect in every way!
I’ve rented on VRBO quite a few times and all experiences were enjoyable with little to no complaints. But, this property is exceptional! We rested well because the bed and bedding were comfortable and the rooms warm due to excellent heating. Not to mention the great fireplace! The view was beautiful and the land surrounding the farmhouse was just perfect to allow privacy and provide interest with deer in the yard every day and birds in the feeder. Geographically, not far from whatever you need. We enjoyed it immensely and will look forward to returning for another peaceful and relaxing getaway.
An experience out of a Tolkien novel
A wonderful Farmhouse within a milieu of mountains. A majestic view hinged with a magazine worthy humble abode is a reality that seems almost too good to be true, yet it is. This place is a must for any sojourner. The fog in the mornings during the fall with shadows of deer roaming about add to the splendor along with the Blue Jays and Cardinals battling for food with the squirrels. It would be a disservice to never return. The Farmhouse displays the beauty of Creation and we were overjoyed to have been given the opportunity to be apart of the audience.
Absolutely beautiful! The house and surroundings were amazing!
We had a great stay! The house was well kept and served all of our needs.
The farmhouse is located about 10 minutes from Main Street Franklin, 20 minutes from Clayton, GA, and about 30 minutes to Highlands. We recommend the Sunset for breakfast, Gazebo for lunch, and Root and Barrel, Café Rel and Thai Paradise for dinner in Franklin. Mulligan's is a local sports pub with good food. A day trip up Highway 64 past the lakes and waterfalls to Highlands is a must see drive. If you are looking for antiques, there are several good antique shops in Franklin, Dillard and Clayton. The nearby area has a lot of great hiking trails for you to explore. You can also enjoy zip lining and sledding in the winter in Scaly Mt.
