2 bedroom apartment with additional double bed settee in living room

Primrose is situated on a converted Cyder Farm that now consists of a number of high quality privately owned cottages and apartments(with indoor pool). The complex Stancombe Manor is approximately 5 minutes from Kingsbridge and is close to many beautiful, quiet beaches and quaint seaside villages. It is set in an open valley with orchards to one side and open fields to the other side.

The abundance of activities available enhance the rustic and rural character of this medieval farmstead. All ages have the choice of total relaxation, or the ability to indulge in the many facilities available on site - from swimming in the indoor heated pool to playing tennis or pitch & putt.

Facilities at Stancombe. Stancombe itself has many facilities on site to suit all ages including: indoor heated pool measuring 6 metres wide by 13 metres long, newly refurbished to include a sauna and new changing rooms.

Tennis court. Snooker room with a full sized snooker table. Games room incorporating table tennis and pool table. Small pitch and putt. Outside play area. Most of the leisure facilities are open for use 24 hours every day.

"We loved Primrose! The flat was great, exactly as advertised and really felt like home. Everything we needed was there plus a few extras. It's so nice to get to a holiday let and find a few basics already there (like cooking oil, toilet paper and salt), as so often this isn't the case. We were amazed to also find a buggy, buckets and spades, a fan, an extra heater, tennis raquets, golf clubs (outside) and lots of other really thoughtful additions. The facilities were all really good quality and no extra to pay for any of them. The kids spent ages playing pool, table tennis, table football and tennis on the outdoor courts but most of all swimming. We really loved the pool - it was a good size, the perfect temperature and we often had it to ourselves. Luxury! The surroundings were also lovely, lots of little lanes for cycling, plus we went to Slapton Sands, Blackpool Sands and Mill bay all of which were lovely. We really enjoyed Kingsbridge too, pretty with a great little cinema if the weather is iffy and good shops. David and Elaine (the owners) were really friendly and went out of their way to help with the booking process. Thanks so much!" Emma Ascot

Truly wonderful property with fabulous facilities

We were totally wowed by our stay at Primrose. A really beautiful apartment in a wonderfully idyllic setting. The apartment was spacious, incredibly well equipment - everything thought of and more - and beautifully clean. Many holiday apartments are just somewhere to put your head down after a day out and about, but this apartment was a real joy to stay in. I highly recommend it. The surrounding countryside was gorgeous and the nearest town of Kingsbridge was far enough away, but close enough too for easy accessibility for shopping necessities and fuel top ups. The facilities at Stancombe Manor were wonderful too. We loved the swimming pool which is beautifully kept, warm and more like a little spa with its sauna room. There's lots to do here for the grown ups and the kids as well as the swimming pool - games room, golf course, tennis courts and play park area. Absolutely brilliant! Couldn't wish for more.

So great, we've already booked for next year!

Primrose was on the first floor, but that didn't present any problems for us, even with a dog and as the title suggests, though we could have booked for a different property, we felt we'd prefer to go back to the same accommodation exactly so that we knew we'd be comfortable and have all of the furnishings/fittings that we needed. The flat was very comfortable and clean and very spacious - the photos didn't do it justice. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped - I've never stayed somewhere that actually managed to have everything I needed in the kitchen! Shower/bathroom was great - hot water with a good pressure. We loved the fact that the play room was on the same level as our flat so it wasn't a problem for the boys to go and enjoy some pool/table tennis while I was cooking, knowing we could pop across and get them very quickly. The whole environment felt very cosy and friendly. Thought there are quite a few properties on site, it never felt crowded and we felt like we did get away from it all. The swimming pool was a massive plus - 2.7m deep, so none of that crouching to keep your shoulders under the water! Also - we very rarely had to share it with other guests, but when we did, there was more than enough room for everyone. All in all - big thumbs up for Primrose and the whole of the complex. Plenty do to in good or bad weather and we particularly enjoyed having a proper tennis court this year. Excellent :-)

Easter Holiday at Primrose 2015

We highly recommend staying at Primrose. We went down to Devon for Easter with the children and 2 border collies. The apartment was lovely, everything was clean and tidy and it is in my opinion much bigger than the pictures do it justice. We were very impressed with the facilities and how much thought and effort the owners had gone to with the apartments entertainment. Loads of DVD's and children's games and books. The girls spent an hour of everyday in the heated indoor swimming pool which was never over crowded. The apartment is close to many of the beaches and our dogs had a lovely time running around on them. Devon is definitely a dog friendly paradise. We are already planning our next holiday down there.

Owner's Response: So glad that you enjoyed the holiday, the pool is heated all year round so, we have found, is great for children, parents and grandparents at any time. Most of the beaches are dog friendly all year so there is always somewhere to walk the dogs on the coast, even in the Summer.

Relaxing, peaceful break.

We stayed at Primrose Cottage at Stancombe for 6 nights after Christmas and over the new year. Myself and husband and 2 of our children aged 9 and 13 had a very comfortable stay. It was clean, always warm and cozy and had thoughtfully put together detailed instructions provided of all equipment like satelite TV and such and good info re. places to visit and restaurants and pubs etc. A very detailed guest book was also helpful from satisfied past visitors. The cottage has everything you would need on holiday like a washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV, huge DVD collection, BT broadband, games room with full size snooker table, table tennis, pool, table football, well maintained tennis courts (rackets provided) and an indoor heated swimming pool with sauna. The cottage is situated in a beautifully quiet valley close to the village of Frogmore and 10 mins drive from Kingsbridge. The beautiful beaches of Salcombe, Mill Bay, Lanacombe and Slapton are all within a few minutes drive. We enjoyed walking the coast from Lanacombe to Start Point and visited the lighthouse at Start Point. Delicious meals at the Church House Inn at Stokenham and the best fish and chips at the Start Bay Inn. You can't book there but its worth the wait. Also visited Totnes which is about 30 mins drive away. We highly recommend this cottage and will definitely stay there again with the whole family. Great consideration of everything you need by the owners has been taken into consideration. Youonly need to bring your own towels. Best of all - we could take our well behaved dog too who had the time of his life on the beaches going in and out of the sea!

Wonderful cottage in a great place

This cottage is a great base to explore the area. The cottage itself is everything you could want, it's cosy, clean and equipped to a high standard. We all loved the extra facilities especially the swimming pool. Couldn't have had a better holiday in this beautiful part of the world. We will recommend to friends and family
