Wonderful stay highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from long weekend stay at this beautiful log cabin. 1st class accommodation, lovely views. Went with my partner and our 3 children and had a wonderful time. The owner was great very nice and very helpful. In the log cabin there is everything that you need. It is beautifully decorated and finished to a high standard. Highly recommend staying here and we look forward to returning very soon

Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Very clean and quiet. Great location for visiting family and friends. Better than staying in a hotel. Nice touch, Canadian flag up when we arrived. And the welcome was greatly appreciated. Would highly recommend and use again when visiting the UK.

Brilliant Place

  • 5 of 5

Myself,( 43 yrs !!) my two boys ( 9yrs and 6yrs ) and my mum ( 81 yrs!!!! ) had a lovely time staying at this lodge. The lodge is, immaculate, clean, has everything and more as required kitchen equipment. In fact I enjoyed the Tassimo coffee machine so much,( Walter and Alsion even provided coffee for it ) came home and bought myself on. Also provided was a lovely welcome pack, tea, coffee , milk, bread, butter, juice and jam. The beds are extremely comfortable and all linen provided. The bathrooms are clean and the boys especially enjoyed the sunken bath and the extra " squirty bits " on the shower. The lodge is in a lovely location surrounded by fields and the boys enjoyed the trampoline and swings. Walter and Alison are brilliants hosts, they are there if you need them but leave you to your own devices. My family in the area loved coming to see us at the lodge and all the kids had fun on the outdoor equipment. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked for 2 weeks in the summer. Darlington may not be in itself a tourist hotspot but it is the " gateway " to so many places. The north yorks moors, York, Durham, and so much more. This lodge is so good I almost do not want to tell people about it so it stays as a " hidden gem " and so is available to book when I require it .
