About Sara Davenport

I came out to montenegro for a weekend in 2007 and was amazed by how unspoilt and charming the country was - like Europe used to be 40 years ago... Amazing mountains, lovely sea and small walled cities of cobbled streets and old venetian houses... I fell in love and decided to buy something to make sure I could keep on going back!

Sara Davenport purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Sara Davenport chose Prčanj

Its right on the sea in a small village thats still only 10 minutes from the busier Kotor town and marina. Its the top two floors of an old stone house and has the most incredible terrace with extraordinary views for miles around... 3 beds with beams - a great base for exploring the whole country...

What makes this apartment unique

The terrace again - and the sea right outside... also has a large watertank, so no watershortages in the summer when the municipal system gets overloaded!

Best terrace in Montenegro...

  • 5 of 5

The views from the terrace are incredible! 6 of us stayed here last summer for a week and the terrace was the high point - we ate, sunbathed and barbecued on it, only disappearing downstairs to plunge straight into the sea and return! Only a 10 minute drive to Kotor, we hired a boat and actually hardly used the car. Convenient minimarket next door and also local restaurants. The apartment is bright and sunny and newly done up - comfortable and quiet. We had a great time...

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was perfect for our week's holiday with three teenagers. The apartment is clean, modern, and has everything we needed. The drive from Dubrovnik was really easy, if a little hot!

Being able to walk straight down and dive into the water on arrival was just what we needed.

The mini market below was great for basics, and there was a great little bakery nearby and a cafe where we had morning coffee each morning. Laterna below was great for a quick beer too.

Sara's recommendations for nearby beaches were perfect - we really enjoyed Plôce, Marista and Forta Rose (wonderful restaurant at the latter).

Prcanj itself is peaceful and a perfect place to base ourselves for trips into Kotor and elsewhere.

Would definitely stay again - thank you Sara!

Graet apartment. Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment in a stunning location.

The apartment is very well appointed, clean and modern. There is good wifi which made facetiming the family at home great fun. The 3 bedrooms had air con ( but unfortunately one was not working very well, if at all) But as we only used 2 this did not bother us. The stairs to the 2 upper bedrooms are quite steep so a bit of care is needed but this was no problem for us. The terrace is large and the views from it are spectacular. You will never get bored of the view.

There a number of good bars/ restaurants within close walking distance of the apartment. Plenty more are within kotor, which is the old town about 10 mins drive away. The bay and the sea are literally just out of the apartment so a refreshing swim was lovely and easy.

The apartment manageress was very helpful and sorted the necessary tourist tax and documents for us.

Montenegro, kotor bay, and the apartment location was great. We were 2 couples. A car is needed and so recommended.

Overall we were very impressed and happy with the apartment and would therefore highly recommend it and the area to anyone.

Reykjavik and Berlin

perfect apartment in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

All descriptions were accurate. The apartment is a jewel, the location is magnificient, and the local restaurants on the water surprised us with high quality and low prices. The owner provided good services and the manager, Sandra, gracefully met all our needs. The town of Kotor is overwhelmed daily by thousands of tourists from cruise ships but Prcanj, a short distance from Kotor, is a wonderful secret, a peaceful haven.

Quaint little gem overlooking the best of Kotor

  • 4 of 5

Impressive terrace overlooking the bay of kotor. Here you will have unobstructed views of the bay at every angle. The apartment looks newly furbished and was very well maintained. We had minor glitches with hot water supply and with the loose shower head but the care taker (Sandra) responded to our concerns right away and all's fixed within the same afternoon. We traveled with our 1yr old baby, Sara (the owner) was kind enough to provide a baby cot and even a high chair. Baby was super happy throughout the stay ( and so did the parents too!) the staircase leading to the 2 bedrooms upstairs is a bit steep, we travelled with an elderly mom in law, it was not easy for her to descend from the staircase though. But not a big issue at all, you just need to go super slow. It was a super relaxing stay, powerful wifi throughout the property, a mini market just downstairs and 2 great restaurants within a few steps' away. We prefer the Boka Bay restaurant more than the one which shares the same building as the apartment. We spent most of our time outdoor at the terrace. There are deck chairs with cushions, a large table which we used for most of our meals and also a large parasol. In the evening you may get some Mosquitos (I think it's seasonal) and they're all over Kotor. You can easily buy electric repellents or all sorts of repellents from the mini market downstairs. Parking is right behind the apartment and it was also very easy for us to navigate and find this apartment with the directions provided by Sara. We drove from Dubrovnik. In this apartment, you can enjoy amazing views from the moment you wake up until sunset. You'll be surprised to see massive cruiseliners sailing through the fiords so close to the apartment. All in all,it's really the perfect apartment for a quiet family holiday. What makes it so pleasant is the hospitable services given by the owner Sara and her assistant Sandra. They've taken the time to promptly respond to our queries and needs. Will highly recommend this place to our friends.

Prcanj is a small stone village on the waterfront, just a ten minute drive from the charming medieval walled city of Kotor, with its marina, cafes, restaurants, nightlife and open air market...Prcanj is where Lord Byron stayed when he described Montenegro as 'The Pearl of the Adriatic' and the village is dominated by a magnificent Catholic church. It has a village shop which sells fresh bread and basics and various small restaurants. There are hillside walks and ruined churches up the mountainside and the clear clean sea right on your doorstep... Local people are helpful and friendly and it is possible to rent a boat and sail from the small stone punta outside the house. The excellent restaurant and swimming pool at the Splendido hotel are a 5 minute walk away, and the historic island church and Unesco protected village of Perast 10 minutes across the bay in a boat.
