Beautiful rental for a couple or family. All comforts and essentials
About Cherie Scoffield
We inherited this 100 year old property and moved here in 2003. We are retired, and working locally. My husband is the Garfield County Tourism Representative around the world for our beautiful area. We raised seven children and now have 19 grandchildren. We were born and raised in Utah but lived in several other states. My husband is a Navy Captain and is very patriotic. We love yard work, hiking, the canyon, and the close knit community we live in.
Why Cherie Scoffield chose Cannonville
We go to great lengths to insure you a wonderful stay at the Country Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse sparkles and we deep clean after every guest. We respect your privacy and welcome children. A swing set is available for use and large lawn area for other games. We have a fire circle out beyond the Bunkhouse with a stage for family performances. Guest are welcome to use it upon request. We will provide the wood and matches for the fires.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our home is located under the escarpment of Bryce Canyon which is 12 miles away. The drive to and from is always an enjoyable one. The views from our home feature red rock formations and the white mountains as well as the small town country setting with sheep, cows, horses etc. It is a peaceful small town of only 150-200 residents, quiet, beautiful and a place of healing from the noise and crowds and fast pace of city life.

Great Location and Great Hosts
Located between Bryce Canyon and Escalante Monument, this property is in the quiet town of Cannonville, UT. Property was accurately described, fairly appointed, and with kind and generous hosts. We stayed for 5 nights. The property is located about 25 min from Bryce Canyon NP and about 30 min from the town of Escalante (the border of Escalante NM reaches quite close to Cannonville). Cannonville is along the most beautiful Rt 12 (has to rank among the most scenic roads in America). We typically spent the day out hiking (leaving early to escape the heat) and returned in the late afternoon. Sunrise and sunsets are magnificent. Cherrie, our host provided all the nice necessities to make our stay comfortable, from bathing materials to towels. Wireless was fine.
Very nice accomodation
My wife and I recently spent four nights at the Country Bunkhouse and really enjoyed it. The accommodations were very clean with a very ample supply of linens. There's a swing in the front yard that we sat in each evening. It is right underneath a shade tree and was an excellent way of decompressing after a full day on the trails. At check-in, we had some homemade cookies waiting for us. I very highly recommend this property.
Loved having you!! Tremendous hikers. Good luck as you continue looking for more trails to tackle. Thank you for reviewing. So kind.
Homey getaway in beautiful area
This property was perfect for us - clean, comfortable, beautiful area. We were greeted by delicious cookies and the owner checked to see if we needed anything. She was very gracious and sweet, and has a welcome book which includes additional suggestions for things to do in the area. We were super happy with our choice to stay in this home.
Loved having you here. Best of luck in your travels. Thank you for coming our way!!
Clean and comfortable, plenty of room for our family of five. Great location for visiting Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Staircase Escalante. We hiked Queens Garden Trail, Lower Calf Creek Falls, and Devil's Garden, all spectacular. Also fished at Aspen Mirror Lake, stocked with rainbow trouts that are easy to catch. Got some butter from Cherie and grill the fish we caught. No cell signal in the area with AT&T but wifi at the house worked great. Highly recommended.
You should be a tour guide here! Your trip sounds fantastic!!! Loved your review. Thank you so much. Come again!!!
Bunkhouse close to Bryce Canyon
We had a wonderful stay at the Cannonville Bunkhouse. The owners were very responsive, and helpful making our stay there very nice. The location is pretty close to Bryce Canyon NP, which was our primary reason for staying there. Luckily for us they were available to give us park advice, which answered all our questions.
The house is pretty small, which we knew going in. We're two adults and two teens, which worked out fine, but having six people there would be very tight, unless all you did was sleep there.
Overall, our experience was great! We'd definitely recommend the property, and would stay there again.
So kind o of you to take time to write a review. Thank you very much. It was nice to have you here.
Nice, clean cottage
Our family stayed for 3 nights. It is close to Bryce. The property is on the owners lot, but it is private. Bathroom is large, cottage is clean and the beds and sheets are very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
You are a very nice family. Thanks for the review and for choosing the Country Bunkhouse. Come again!!!
