Cannonville is located under the eastern escarpment of Bryce Canyon National Park. It is off of Scenic Byway 12, just 12 miles past Bryce Canyon. Our area is surrounded by red rock outcroppings. Kodachrome State Park is located 10 miles down our main road in town. The Bunk House includes two queen beds and a bunkbed in about 900 square feet. We include a Pack n Play for babies. The large bathroom includes tub and shower and changing area. The bathroom/dressing room is supplied with plush towels, and other amenities. The beds are comfortable with fresh pressed linens upon your arrival. The loft sleeps 3 older children. Sleeping bags preferred. (if bedding needed, please ask) There is a small kitchenette with dishes, utensils, pots and pans and a sink. The toaster/oven is convenient. A small refrigerator (no freezer) includes water and basic condiments. Fresh baked Chocolate Chip Cookies welcome guests to our Country Bunkhouse. There is an available grill if needed outside. (request before arriving) The Country Bunkhouse includes a 55 inch Television screen for TV programs and DVD's, Blue Ray/games as well as a 45” TV in the second bedroom. Several DVD's (family oriented) are included as well as board games/puzzles and children's toys. The Country Bunkhouse has large ceiling fans and a brand new Air Conditioning system. Forced air heating is very efficient. We don't have many extremely hot days and our nights are cool and beautiful. Sleeping with open windows is safe here. However, winter is cold and often snowy. Our night sky is stunning, if you have time to sit on the swing outside to enjoy it. The Grand Staircase Visitors Center is in the center of town near the town park for questions about hikes, weather and places to go. Don’t hesitate to ask us (the Scoffield’s) for any suggestions or for any items you might need.

About Cherie Scoffield
We inherited this 100 year old property and moved here in 2003. We are retired, and working locally. My husband is the Garfield County Tourism Representative around the world for our beautiful area. We raised seven children and now have 19 grandchildren. We were born and raised in Utah but lived in several other states. My husband is a Navy Captain and is very patriotic. We love yard work, hiking, the canyon, and the close knit community we live in.
Why Cherie Scoffield chose Cannonville
We go to great lengths to insure you a wonderful stay at the Country Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse sparkles and we deep clean after every guest. We respect your privacy and welcome children. A swing set is available for use and large lawn area for other games. We have a fire circle out beyond the Bunkhouse with a stage for family performances. Guest are welcome use it upon request. We will provide the wood and matches for the fires.
What makes this Cottage unique
Our home is located under the escarpment of Bryce Canyon which is 12 miles away. The drive to and from is always an enjoyable one. The views from our home feature red rock formations and the white mountains as well as the small town country setting with sheep, cows, horses etc. It is a peaceful small town of only 150-200 residents, quiet, beautiful and a place of healing from the noise and crowds and fast pace of city life.

Almost as comfortable as home
From the moment we walked in the Country Bunkhouse we felt at home. It was warm and welcoming and had some delicious pumpkin bread waiting for us. I would recommend staying at the bunkhouse to any of our family or friends visiting the area. The ride to Bryce was and easy, convenient and beautiful trip. As there were only two of us the only thing I would change is a couch in the main living area instead of a bed, although it was extremely comfortable.
Nice location to explore Bryce.
Quiet and pleasant stay. Mere minutes from Bryce and other nice hiking areas. I enjoyed the pumpkin bread provided by the host for breakfast with coffee. Only one thing was amiss. The only nonstick fry pan was unusable due to extreme wear. Fridge worked like a champ, shower felt good and beds are comfy. Highly recommend for Bryce area visit.
Great place to recoup after long days hiking!
Wonderful soft cookies on the kitchen table after a long drive from Vegas! Bed was very nice. Super clean unit overall. Everything worked great! We stayed all over in France/Italy in VRBO's last summer and this location equaled or exceeded any/all locations we stayed in overseas for those two weeks! Thank You!
THANK YOU so much! Great guests!!!
We had an incredible experience here! Cherie put so much into making our stay extra special. The unit was very clean, she left a note/surprise on the door for us, and she was very responsive. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 4 (and there’s more room for more too if needed). And you can’t beat the location! It is by SO much fun stuff! This is definitely a repeat stay and we would recommend it to anyone!
You have a sweet family. Thanks for the nice review and for choosing to stay at the Country Bunkhouse!!
We had a wonderful three night stay in Cherie’s cottage! Great communication! The place was clean, well decorated and had everything on hand that you could possibly need! We loved our stay!!!
It was great to meet you two. Thank you for the review. Hoping you will come again.
Felt right at home.
Great set up. I also enjoyed reading about the long heritage of Cherie’s family in the area.
Thank you Rick. Also thanks for the help. You were great guests.
