amazing time

  • 5 of 5

avel about 3 times a year to Paris for business. Convenience is my

priority. This is my first time at the Xavier Privas, I find it to be

perfect. Last year, I rented at the 5th Arrondissement around rue Mouffetard

but it was just too far. From the Xavier Privas, I can walk everywhere. It

is safe walking around the area, unlike sine of the other neighborhoods. The

studio was meticulously clean. Samy was so polite, always answering by "yes

sir" & "no sir", a kind of courtesy that we are unaccustomed to in the US.

Fantastic Studio!

  • 5 of 5

This studio was right in the middle of everything, it was so easy to walk everywhere or hop on the metro. I felt very safe and lots of great food choices. I would definitely stay here again!

Cute Studio, Great Location, but Small

  • 4 of 5

The studio itself is quite adequate for a stay in Paris, bed was comfortable and the location is quite convenient to Notre Dame and transportation. The Latin Quarter surroundings offer a wide variety of food choices, although the carnival-barker like restauranteurs trying to get you to sample their restaurants gets old really fast.

As others have stated, the small hot water heater requires a little bit of planning, but we did not find it to be a problem. The stairs up to the studio are quite small and narrow, we had two carry-on size suitcases that were somewhat difficult to maneuver up to the studio.

There is no air conditioning, but there is a fan that made it at least bearable during the hottest day of the summer (just our luck). We did not use the television provided, nor microwave. Having a fridge was nice, and the short walk to Monoprix store saved a lot of Euros.

We enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again, but probably not during the hottest part of the summer.

Perfect Location

  • 3 of 5

This historic building is definitely historic. It is situated in a VERY convenient location to Blvd St Michel and St Germain. Restaurants and bars are steps away. Monoprix and Starbucks are also nearby. This is a Studio and is described as such.

Definitely a place for young people willing to deal with stairs and small places. This is not for the mature couple who may not have the energy or patience to stay in a small room for a few days.

We are backpackers and we spent most of the day sightseeing so the studio was perfect at the end of a long day, despite the right stairwell.

Very quiet and with all the commotion going on in Paris in June/2016, we felt safe enough.

Some of the cons:

-not enough towels

-hot water did not work in the morning for some reason. Orange light was on from 6:00 am till 8:00 am.

-cleaning the place before you check-out was a strange feeling, but this was communicated in advance so not a shock.

Not what I was expecting but OK

  • 3 of 5

The pictures are accurate at the decoration etc but not in the actual size of the apartment. Very small. We don't stay in there accept to sleep so worked out fine. The area around the apartment feels a bit sketchy, meaning not the nicest area of town. Again we didn't feel unsafe but cautious. Price does not include community costs so therefore the price was about the same as other areas of Paris. Overall stay was fine.

A unique, historic experience!

  • 4 of 5

The Latin quarter is a truly historic part of Paris to stay. You're surrounded by lots of life, plus walking distance to so many places. Notre Dame and the Seine a stroll away, the Louvre, d'Orsay and many other museums a nice walk. My daughter and I had the best time. Be forewarned...the studio is small. Smaller than it appears in the photos, but it is clean, comfortable, quiet and the bed is really nice. Why pay for extra square footage when you will be out in Paris enjoying the city? I would go back!

Claude supplied us with lots of information and suggestions. He was very prompt in replies. We went to a restaurant that we probably would not have found if not for him. We had the best time and will hopefully return there, as well!
