About Bruce and Renee Boling
Our names are Bruce and Renee Boling. We were high school sweethearts and have been married 42 years. We have two sons, daughter -in-law, one grandson, and a dog named Adam. Bruce is an auto body technician and I am a jack of all trades and a master of none. We work well together at everything we do and have lived in Ohio all our lives. As a matter of fact we live right next to our vacation rental home. We have lived here in Geneva for 41 years and have worked hard for everything we have because we love the area!
Bruce and Renee Boling purchased this House in 2014
Why Bruce and Renee Boling chose Geneva
When we moved to Geneva, Ohio we thought it was a great area with a nice quiet neighborhood. After a couple days, I met our new neighbor, Hazel Jeppe. She lived on the left side of us and was around 85 years old. She invited me into her "Florida room" or "Sun room", which was at the back of the house. This is where she would spend most of her time to sit and relax. I can see why! Ever since then I wanted to buy it ,but couldn't because for one thing we didn't have the money and someone else bought which was my old landlord: Who would of thought ! Years later the mother died and I always told the son I would like to buy it, but he died in May of 2014. I never thought I would have a chance, so I asked his sister to buy it, but she had already sold to the city for flipper houses. But I continue on my quest to buy it. A lot of obstacles got in the way, but I was for sure this house was going to be ours. No matter what happen and I am happy to say it is ours. We have worked long hard hrs. to make the way it is now. A lot of people were skeptical, but I knew God would get us through it . We keep updating little things to make it more comfortable.
What makes this House unique
Nice neighbors, quiet neighborhood, it is a very cozy home that when you come in you don't want to leave. The views of the house are great because in each room you can see a view of the neighborhood and the yard. We kept everything in the house ,but up dated some of the areas. to make it look a updated from the 60's. We keep the birds fed in the back yard . When you come to the house you do not real have to do any thing .Except bring your own food, cook and cleanup and relax.

Very clean, great location, good people...a little noisy for us.
The positives... The house was very clean and well kept. It was also well supplied with bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, etc. It was a real bonus having a fenced in yard. There was also a nice welcome basket and numerous pamphlets about area attractions. During the day it was very quiet and relaxing. It is in a great location, only minutes away from Lake Erie, and state parks. If you enjoy wineries, there could not be a better location. There are many within 15-20 min away...some only blocks away! Bruce and Renee were very responsive as hosts and had a wealth of information on things to do in the area.
The Negatives...only two come to mind and one is completely out of their control. The barking from the neighbors dogs, who are kept in an enclosure next to the driveway(which is right outside the bedrooms) was a constant irritation. Many times we were woken up a@5:45 am with their barking and one evening the barking started at 1:00 am and continued to 3:45 am, until the police were finally called to contact the owners. Not sure that Bruce and Renee can do anything about this, but felt a need to be honest with future travelers. Lastly, the bed in rear bedroom was fairy uncomfortable until we added a pillow top covering and still was noisy when shifting around in bed or getting in and out.
Thank you for the positive and negative feedback. It is always helpful when you hear from our renters. You are right about the noise ,and I'am glad you did addressed it. Although we only had a few complaints about the dogs.. we can't do anything about it, but a call to the police and make complaints, will hopefully make the owners keep them quiet. As for the bed we keep a mattress protector, to keep it clean, and it does move when someone sleeps on it .
The house was super clean, easy to find, well maintained and far superior to staying in a hotel!
The owners was wonderful! She met us to help us check in and even had gifts waiting for us. I would definetly stay here again!! 😊
So glad you like our home, and it was what you thought it would be and your liking. Your family was delightful. We hope you come back and see us
Very odd.house itself fine, definitely not for 11 adults. description should read 6 ad.,4 kids
Always being watched by the owners who lived next door. Feral cats screaming all night, becsuse the family across the street feeds them all.a dog barking all night then a skunk chased us inside
Just not a good situation. I wouldn't rent there again, just uncomfortable like we were always being watched & lists of rules everywhere.
Thank you for your review! The descriptions of our sleeping accommodations are listed on VRBO for your viewing prior to your booking.Regarding your complaints of the outside noise to the wild life, I have no control of the types of situations . As to the concern of your privacy, yes, I do live next door, and, yes
, the backyards are adjacent to one another. Respectfully Renee
Pet friendly and convenient
Renee and Bruce have a lovely rental in Geneva on the lake. The house is well taken care of and we had everything we needed. Renee provided doughnuts and a bottle of wine for us upon arrival. A big PLUS for us is that we could bring our dogs. The house is close to all the attractions of Geneva on the lake. We had a really nice time!
