Nice week in a nice home

  • 5 of 5

It's really a home where you are happy to return after a day of exploring a lot of beautiful places. The house is perfectly equiped, clean and comfortable, near some supermarkets where you can find everything you need for the daily courses. We recommend this property without any doubt, and if we return to Portsmouth in a future, it's sure that this will be our first option!

Perfect base to discover Portsmouth

  • 5 of 5

Bigger than expected, lovely, clean and airy. Mike and Valarie gave us a great welcome and showed us around the house. Everything you need and more. well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area over looking the garden. We like walking so we left our car parked for the 4 days of our stay. Weather was amazing so had breakfast outside in a lovely back garden everyday. Our son is in the Navy and is a great base and will return as excellent value for money.

Can't fault it

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend, a lovely house, full of everything you could possibly need and more. Beautiful decor, a cosy feel and a real home from home. The wine and biscuits were a fab touch. We will definitely be back again.

Harcourt House Portsmouth

  • 5 of 5

Having lived in Portsmouth as a child before I moved to Sydney Australia, I was looking for a place to stay that I could take my 9 month old daughter to and show her the sights.

I was so pleased with my choice of Harcourt House. It's location made sure we could visit all the main attractions in and around Portsmouth with ease, and it's end of terrace position in a quiet street made sure we could get a good nights sleep.

It has a real home charm, with everything you could want to make a stay enjoyable and relaxing. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have ever used, and the bedrooms comfortable and clean. The garden and dining area at the back of the house were a great place to entertain family and friends who came to see their granddaughter.

The owners Mike and Valerie were just a call away and made sure we had everything we needed.

The pub at the end of the road was exceptionally friendly, and the local store just around the corner had everything you could want, along with Jimmy's Chip shop for that great British fish and chip experience.

I would not hesitate to recommend staying at Harcourt House, it beats noisy Hotels hands down with its "home away from home" feel. I will definitely be booking again when I next return to the UK.

Excellent accommodation in Portsmouth

  • 5 of 5

This was a last minute booking, and owners were very helpful in arranging 2 weeks accommodation for us. House was as described, and it was like moving into a home rather than a letting. Owners taste in decor, music and films (of which there were lots to chose from) were very similar to ours, and kitchen was well stocked in terms of utensils and many of my choice in cook books.

Easy access to motorway in the mornings, and location was very good with local pubs, indian takeaways, and a handy coop 2 minutes walk away.

Property was very clean and tidy. Wifi was a bonus to keep my girls happy in the evenings.

Very pleased to have found this place, and would recommend it to anybody wanting a place to stay in Portsmouth.

Lovely, well maintained and quite holiday home

  • 5 of 5

We found a well mainatined and clean holiday home, perfect situated to be in Town center, but nice quite such that the lovely private garden could be enjoyed.

Everything needed was provided, also a perfect working Broadband internet connection. As everything was within walking distance not even a car would be needed. We visited Isle of Wight by ferry and car, but also London by public bus. As the weather was perfect and warm for mid of May we spent hours at the nice and clean beach, Our yonger daughter used to swim in the Sea. We definitely recommend this house.
