4 bedroom detached house to sleep 8 on the Lincolnshire caost

A detached holiday home in enclosed gardens. Four minutes walk from the promenade and the lovely beach. The village shop, hotel and golf course are all within walking distance making this house much sought after in a pretty seaside village.

Situated in the quiet village of Sandilands this is an idyllic location for a get away type of holiday. The larger village of Sutton on Sea is within walking distance and provides good old fashioned hospitality.

Upstairs the accommodation comprises a main double bedded room, second bedroom with 3 beds, third single bedroom, bathroom with shower and a separate toilet

Downstairs

The attractive lounge has an open fireplace, large refractory table, TV, video and CD player. There is a ground floor double bedroom with washbasin and a separate loo.The kitchen and pantry are well equipped. There is also a small glass fronted porch an ideal place for a pre dinner drink watching the sun go down.

About Mrs Janet Dixon

I have been a regular visitor to Sandilands since the early 60's and my mother spent her summer holidays there as a child in the 20's! All our 4 children spent 6 weeks every year playing in the garden and on the beach based at Orchard Close. We are now hosting our 5 grandchildren who love the freedom that Sandilands provides and my husband and I love the peace and quiet that it offers and the golf.

We bought this property when our 2nd child was born and have never regretted it. Given a choice I would always holiday at Sandilands we love it!

What makes this house unique

We love the location. Down a private road, near the beach and the front garden facing west perfect for those summer evenings. The garden is a good size and perfect for children to play in.

Amazing Stay

My family and I have just come back from a super relaxing stay at the beautiful Orchard Close.

The house was well looked after and had brilliant facilities with absolutely everything we could have asked for. The banana loaf on arrival was such a lovely touch, and the house felt comfortable and cosy.

The location of the house was in quiet beautiful surroundings and only a stone throw away from the beach.

We are so happy we came across this house and wish we could've stayed longer. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you very much Janet.

We had a wonderful stay over the Easter holidays. We were really impressed with the size and the cleanliness of the house. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and a short drive to Mablethorpe. The homemade lemon drizzle cake on arrival was a very nice touch and went down very well! We will definitely be looking to book again. Highly recommended. Thank you!!

Clean, well maintained and comfortable

7th year on the bounce at Orchard Close and just enquired about year 8! We love it, it's the perfect spot for us, easy to get to the beach, very comfortable and clean. The Fat Seagull cafe round the corner does great breakfasts

Orchard Close is well placed for the hotel and the Fat Seagull both of which serve reasonably priced meals. A great place to relax and re charge your batteries. with plenty to keep the whole age range occupied.

Yet again a brilliant holiday at Orchard Lane. Beautifully clean, great facilities, fantastic location, looking forward to booking for next year.

If I was being extra picky the tv is very small and some of the mattresses could do with updating.

Owner's Response: I am glad that you enjoyed your holiday despite the weather! I have a rolling programme of renovation in the house and some mattresses were replaced last year and some are on the schedule for next season. This year money was spent on the beach hut which was completely re furbished on the inside, the outside is in the process of being painted, when it stops raining! Feed back from my clients is always welcome and I do try and give good value for money. Sandilands is a great place for a holiday and people return year after year.

Sandilands is an idyllic place for a holiday whether you want to lie on the beach, play golf on one of the many excellent courses in the area or just explore the Wolds and the Fens. Sutton on Sea is a mile walk along the promenade with the best fish and chips for miles around! There are a range of excellent small shops that provide everything you could want. There is also a children's playground, multi purpose activity area and paddling pool.

Mablethorpe and Skegness have good cinemas and live entertainment throughout the summer season. There are a variety of restaurants, pubs and hotels in Sutton on Sea as well as take away outlets. The Grange and Links in Sandilands does reasonably priced bar meals and has an excellent restaurant.The Fat Seagull, a new bistro near the sea front serves excellent home made food beginning with breakfast and carrying on until late. It is closed on Mondays. Attached to The Fat Seagull is a small convenience store that sells the basics as well as sandwiches, soup, coffees and ice cream, they also have a selection on home cooked meats, pies etc to take away.

Meals are also available at the golf club. Other local golf clubs include Woodhall Spa, Kenwick Park, Skegness North Shore, Seacroft, Louth and Woodthorpe.

The market town of Louth is 30 minutes drive away and historic Lincoln 50 minutes.

Golf: Sandilands has its own 18 hole links course which provides excellent hospitality. The last week in July is a popular golf week with competitions to suit everybody.

The 2 courses at Skegness (Seacroft and North Shore) are within 30minutes. Further inland there are the two championship courses at Woodhall Spa both of which are worth a visit.

There are two very different courses in Louth ( 20 minutes). Kenwick Park is a lovely parkland course set in the grounds of an old country house,with an excellent club house and fabulous food. The Louth Golf Club has some challenging holes and is set on the outskirts of this popular market town.

Further afield there are courses at Grimsby, Boston, Spalding and Lincoln making Sandilands an ideal place to explore some of the best golf courses in Lincolnshire.

Horse riding is available at the Black Cat equestrian centre on the outskirts of Sutton on Sea and there is the Radcliffe donkey sanctuary at Huttoft that is well worth a visit.

The circus comes to Mablethorpe for 6 weeks a year and there are the usual fairground rides at Mablethorpe and fantasy Island in Skegness.

If you are a keen birdwatcher or interested in nature a visit to the Nature reserve at Gibraltar Point is a must. The staff run activities for children during the holiday periods and are always on hand to answer questions whatever the time of the year.

The Seal Sanctuary at the north end of Mablethorpe is a great day out with or without children. Not only do they have seals that have been rescued from North Sea but they have a wide variety of other species from monkeys to peacocks. It is a must for my grandchildren every year.There is also a seal/wildlife attraction in Skegness.

Gas and electricity is included in the rental price. The rental is for 8 people any additional persons are charged at £50 per person

Pillows and duvets are provided. Sheets, pillowcases duvetcovers and towels are not. These can be hired at £6.95 per bed per week.

A non refundable deposit of 25% of the weekly rate secures your booking with the balance being due 4 weeks before your holiday

A beach hut is available to hire at the rate of £50 per week. It is well equipped with tables, chairs, unbreakable crockery, gas stove, and a sink. There are a limited amount of buckets and spades as well as windbreaks.
