Awesome venue for a big family gathering.
We had a family gathering of 16 people. This place prioritizes the fun over the cosmetics, which is exactly what we wanted. We made great memories in the pool, with the fire pit, playing games, etc. The furniture is a little dated but the beds are comfortable and everyone had plenty of space. Great bass fishing in the nearby pond and the views are awesome. Thanks to Connie for great communication up to and during the trip.
Perfect large family escape
This was one of my best rental experiences, Connie and Paul were the most hospitable hosts. I have a family of 12, including 5 children ages 1 to 17 plus the family pet- we needed a rental where the kids had room to play, be entertained, and be safe. This house had more than enough bedrooms for everyone to have privacy, and also large enough common areas with plenty of furniture for everyone to fit comfortably in the same room together. The pool was amazing, we used it every day. The other reviews mentioned the place was outdated, but we were not bothered by this at all- the furniture was comfortable, clean, and durable- held up to a bunch of rambunctious toddlers for a full week. The paths around the property were expansive, beautiful, and also a great substitute activity for the kids who weren't big enough to go on the Shenandoah hikes the adults went on. The indoor pool house with a sauna was very posh and a just a short walk away for a couple of the adults to escape from the kids for a while. Will definitely be coming back here!
Great extended family get-together
My family and I enjoyed staying in Castleton Farms very much. The large pool was a big hit on the hot summer days and the ping-pong table was in constant use. There was lots to keep our 5 grandchildren (inculding 4 teenagers) busy. It was also nice to have th tennis courts nearby. Donna was great to work with and alwys very repsponsive to any requests. Since it is in a very remote location, you should check with her for directions as our GPS took us on some real back-roads and she suggested better routes for our return trip. My only surprise was that with the price of the rental, I didn't expect that the house had not been updated since built in the 80's. It certainly didn't keep us from havivng a wonderful vacation, but with upgrdes, I would have given it a 5-star rating.
Connie was a great host! The property was clean, fun, and had everything we needed. Would definitely rent this property again!
Absolutely beautiful property. Fit our groups needs perfectly.
Good for family or corporate events
We liked the house, it was clean and equipped with all the necessities. Thank you Connie for your hospitality!
Thank you Talgat for the great review. We hope you can come back soon for another visit.
