A stay in any of our three traditional Mani homes offers our guests a unique experience in holiday home rental. As a result of our own extensive travel experiences we have made every effort to furnish our houses as if they were homes, rather than a rental facility.
Villa Leftkron lies on 950 sqm of landscaped grounds enclosed by a stone wall. It is oriented to take advantage of the refreshing sea breezes, and views of Stoupa Bay, the Taygetos mountains, and the olive groves below.
The ground floor has a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, stairs leading up to a loft and two tall French doors facing the sea. Separated by an archway, is the spacious fully-equipped kitchen. Two patios, off from the kitchen and living room, are ideal for al fresco dining. The ground floor also has a full-sized bathroom.
Upstairs, leading off from the loft, are two bedrooms, each with a balcony, overlooking the mountains, olive-groves and coastline. There is another bathroom off the loft.
STOUPA VILLAGE: The three beaches of Stoupa are all very close to Villa Lefktron. Two of the beaches have very fine sand. The third beach, Halikoura, has small pebbles and is an ideal place for snorkeling. All three are child friendly because of the shallow waters near the shore. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rental at daily or weekly rates. There are some cafes just off the beaches that offer cold drinks and light meals for lunch. Kayaks and pedaloes can be rented from either Stoupa or Kalogria beach. Small motor boats are also available for rental on Stoupa beach. Because Stoupa is a small village, everything is within an easy walk. In addition to the cafes, you will find numerous restaurants, fine gift shops, a rental shop where you can rent anything from fans to bicycles, and a pharmacy. For more adventurous souls, cars, bicycles, and motor scooters can also be rented in the village.
EXCURSIONS: Stoupa is in the middle of a very beautiful area. Along the coast, there are several other charming villages to visit, (Kardamili, Agios Nikolaos, Agios Dimitrios, and Trachila). Each is unique and all are well worth a visit. There is a paved path along the coastline between Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos. It is specifically for either pedestrian or bicycle use, and is about 2 km in length. It offers wonderful sea views with a mountain background.
In a distance from 4-18 km. from Stoupa, there are lovely mountain villages to explore that take you back in time to 50 years ago. Most of them have a small taverna or two where you can stop and enjoy dishes prepared with local products. There are two separate loops that can be driven. Each of them passes through several villages and you can take anywhere from one hour to all day to complete your journey.
OTHER ACTIVITIES: The area is rich in wild flowers almost all year round. During the spring and autumn, there are various interesting walks in the area. There are local books available that describe the most popular walks. In Kardamili, there is a mountaineering shop that offers guided mountain tours and bicycle tours. Scuba diving is also centered in Kardamili.

Excellant location and very helpful hosts
The villa is large and has all necessary amenities. The owners were readily available and the very minor problems we had were sorted immediately. It is wonderfully located within a comfortable walk to Stoupa beachfront and the many great tavernas and bars as well as a magnificent safe and clean beach. Close by are Kardamili and Aghhios Nikolaus, very attractive fishing villages. The mountains very dramatic come down clos to the sea. There are many attractive walks and May is a lovely month for flowers. The villa is set among olive trees. We are returning next year. That's how good the place is!
We are always pleased to welcome new guests who are already familiar with what our beautiful area has to offer. It was a pleasure to host them and we look forward to their return next year.
Beautifull and simply designed, with amenities to keep us cool and bug free! Fab sea & mtn views
Supportive landlords, well equipped premises, general feeling of comfort. Ideal for families wanting the choice of staying in or going out to local eateries, with safe beach nearby. Wish we'd hit the mountains!
It is always comforting to hear from our guests that both the house and the Mani area met their holiday requirements. We understand the importance of a family holiday and are pleased when our guests leave with a good feeling about their stay.
The listing description was acurate in all respects and the house is located in a supperb position
The house was clean and is clearly well l maintained, with everything you could possibly require provided. The owners provided all the additional information and are extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the house is fantastic: it is in a very quiet and lovely position just up the hill and a short walk away from the village. There are several restaurants close to the house, and a number of attractions nearby. Walking on the hills is a very enjoyable activity particularly during the months when the temperature is not too high. The beach is close and within walking distance, and so are the shops. We would recommend the house and will return.
We really enjoy meeting guests who appreciate the beauty of our area and take advantage of what the Mani and Stoupa have to offer. It will be our pleasure to see these guests again.

A rented house that feels like home
We have just returned from our holiday in Stoupa, in Villa Lefktron. We are a family of four and spent eight wonderful days in this beautiful part of Messinia. The house offered to us all we needed and more. Its location is excellent, near the Stoupa centre and the beaches but also slightly off-centred so that we could enjoy more the peaceful countryside and the sounds of nature. The house is extremely well equipped, very clean and comfortable, ideal for a family holiday. The Wi-Fi connection provided was fast and very stable, a fact that makes the house ideal for everyone who needs Internet, either for work or leisure. The owners are lovely people, eager to provide tips and assistance. The nearby beaches are awesome. We particularly recommend the beaches "Kalogria" and "Foneas". Don't miss going to beautiful Kardamyli and the old part of the village to see the Mourtzinoi Tower. If you look for good local cuisine by the seaside, Lela's Taverna in Kardamyli is unbeatable. If you have a car, drive south for some sightseeing, at least till Areopolis, the Diros Caves and the port of Limeni. Mani is yet another stunning place to be in Greece. We had a great time!!! Thank you!
It always gratifies us to know that our house is appreciated. Since we have been traveling all our lives, we have gone to great efforts to provide a comfortable and lovely setting for a family holiday. We also appreciate the additional tips that our guests have given to help potential guests learn about the opportunities that are available in our area. It is truly a lovely place.

GREAT OFF-SEASON HIDEAWAY
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Lefktron cottage in November 2012.
The Mani weather is surprisingly summery even at that time of year. I went swimming almost every day – the water temps were still in the 70s (F) at the end of the month.
The owner-provided pictures on this site are accurate. The cottage is stylish and comfortable, and has a nice view over Stoupa/Lefktron to the sea.
The patio and garden area has orange, lemon, pomegranate and olive trees – even a banana plant, which is a good indicator of the mildness of the climate.
The neighborhood is quiet. Walking down to the beach or the market is easy and pleasant; the view is of traditional-type stone houses, the dramatic Taygetos mountains, the Messenian gulf, ever-blue skies, and of course olive trees.
The cottage is well equipped and has an efficient wood-burning stove for cold nights, although I never needed it. Hot water comes from passive solar heating in the sunnier months, and an electric storage heater in Dec-Jan.
The tap water is pure mountain spring water – can’t beat that.
One thing that I valued especially – as a writer on a working holiday – was the internet connection, which had enough bandwidth for clear Skype calls and was very reliable. The local Cosmote cell service also had an excellent signal at the cottage. One can buy a Cosmote SIM card at the local grocery store, and pop it into any unlocked smartphone, to get cellphone and even web access if needed.
I should not neglect to mention that the owners, Takis and Tracy, were extremely hospitable and helpful – really the perfect hosts.
I hope to stay at the Lefktron cottage again, when my travels take me back to Mani.
Villa Lefktron was absolutely wonderful. It was our best self-catering to date. The home is lovely, built in a traditional Mani stone and timber style. We felt comfortable the moment we walked in. Everything you could possibly want was included in the well-stocked home. The hosts went that extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. They were approachable and helpful without being intrusive in any way. There is so much to see and do in this area, the beach is beautiful, walking and villages great. I would highly recommend Villa Lefktron.
Takis and I were very happy to host this lovely Canadian family during the Christmas season. Having lived abroad ourselves, we understand the importance of being in home-like surroundings, especially during the holidays. We were also pleased to share with them the beauty of our area during the winter months, and to give them the opportunity to pick olives!
Lefktron village is located on the foothills above Stoupa. It overlooks the olive groves, the bay of Stoupa, and is an easy stroll to the sandy beaches. It offers very beautiful views, especially of the evening sunsets. Until the 1970s, it was mostly an abandoned village. Then, the first visitors came and fell in love with the area. They bought most of the houses and restored them to a high standard. The Greek owners soon followed suit. The newer houses that were built afterward followed the traditional Mani style as well. Today, Lefktron is a very picturesque village with a mixture of owners and visitors from all over the world. Other Activities: Area rich in flowers all year round. Local guide books describe many popular walks. In Kardamili, there is a mountaineering shop offering guided tours Golf: Costa Navarino is a very high quality golf complex which is located within a 2 hour drive from Stoupa.
