A three bedroomed, modern bungalow, well-equipped for all your holiday needs. Mallards sleeps up to 4 people in one double and two single rooms. Also features a patio area accessed through the French windows, ideal for a sunny evening drink and/or barbeque. Reserved parking space immediately next to the back door.

Situated in a small wooded valley at the foot of Bodmin Moor, this is an ideal place to 'relax and get away from it all'. Geese are seen flying over daily en-route to the local lakes and owls are often heard at night. You are surrounded by typical Cornish countryside, yet within easy reach of many attractions. Pub and restaurant nearby and many other eating places in the area.

'Mallards' has three bedrooms, one double and two singles, a spacious lounge/diner, a very well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom, with shower. Immediately outside the back door is an allocated space for one car. At the front of the bungalow is a patio with garden furniture, ideal for those ’al-fresco’ meals and drinks.

Entry through the side door, immediately next to the allocated parking space, brings you into the kitchen/diner area, pictured below. The kitchen is well -equipped with a four-ring cooker, oven and grill, a microwave oven, toaster and a refrigerator with a small freezer compartment. The dining table comfortably seats four people. A wide range of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery makes self-catering easy for you. A cupboard next to the kitchen houses the hot water tank and some useful shelving space.

The comfortable lounge area benefits from the 'french windows', having a southerly aspect and letting in lots of light.

Summer visitors will no doubt, be tempted to open up these windows, allowing access to the patio area, ideal for soaking up the sun and enjoying a relaxing drink, or even a barbeque. The lounge has seating for four people, a coffee table, a television with 'freeview' box and free access to WiFi.

An efficient night-storage heater in the short corridor between the kitchen and the bedrooms, is well situated to spread warmth around the bungalow on chilly mornings.

The main bedroom has a double bed, a dressing table and a built-in wardrobe. The second bedroom has a single bed, a wash-basin, bedside cabinet, a chest of drawers and a built-in wardrobe. The third bedroom has a single bed, a chest of drawers and a free standing wardrobe.

The bathroom includes the toilet, a wash-basin and a bath with an electric shower over. There is also a shaver point and a heated towel rail.

Why Mr Andy Kent chose South East Cornwall

Many of our visitors tell us how Rosecraddoc is a great base from which to discover Cornwall and West Devon, now connected by good roads. The bungalow is off the beaten track though, nestled in a wooded valley at the foot of Bodmin Moor. It's very quiet and peaceful here, save for the sound of the little stream and the geese flying overhead. Mallards is a cosy little bungalow with everything you need for a self-catering break.

Rosecraddoc Lodge "Mallards"

I just wanted a quiet few days. Having stayed on this site before, five or so years ago, it was just what I was looking for. Nothing has changed: it is just as peaceful and lovely as it was before. The property was clean and cosy with welcoming tea and biscuits! And very well equipped throughout. I have not stayed here in the summer season, it will obviously be busier. But with no night clubs or swimming pools, it would probably be almost as peaceful then!

Our stay, in the early part of 2011, coincided with poor and cold weather but MALLARDS soon warmed up and proved to be a comfortable, cosy bungalow. We, obviously, went out as much as possible but, on the occasions we decided to stay in, we were able to listen to the radio, play videos or watch television or, pleasingly, play any number of board games all of which were available.

We were able to bath or shower, the water heating reasonably quickly.The walk out of the park, whichever way we chose to go, was delightful although on a warm day you could be forgiven for putting up your deck chair and lazing alongside the beautifully clear stream that rune the length of the park. We would recommend MALLARDS to all. We had stayed before and if we don't like somewhere we don't return. The description was accurate, the bungalow being clean and tidy. We were met on arrival and any 'might-be problems' ironed out without fuss. [There weren't any, incidentally]

It's position is perfect, being close to Liskeard but, more importantly, central for just about all the main places of interest e.g; Padstow, Bodmin Steam Railway, Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Charlestown, Fowey etcetera as well as numerous other not so well known but equally interesting destinations.

All in all, an excellent base for what should be a lovely break or holiday.

Cornwall holiday

Rosecraddock is an excellent place to explore Cornwall in all directions but it also has beautiful rural surroundings with a lot to see and to do.

The holiday bungalow is furnished in a cosy and comfortable way and equipped to a very high standard. It is well cared for by the owners. Shopping is within easy reach ( Liskeard ),

Although Mallards is a wonderful place to ‘get away from it all’ and to spend time in a peaceful and relaxing environment, they are also well situated as a ‘centre’ from which to visit some of the many attractions in South-East Cornwall and South-West Devon.

The fishing villages of Looe, Polperro and Mevagissey are a short drive away. Golitha Falls are just a five minute drive from Mallards. Sibleyback and Colliford Lakes, both within 20 minutes, offer fishing and watersports as well as nature walks.

The Sterts Outdoor Theatre is just 5 minutes away, offering a full and varied programme throughout the summer. Some daytime shows are specifically aimed at children.

Ramblers have the expanse of Bodmin Moor, and even Dartmoor, given a short car trip.

Garden lovers and National Trust members are spoilt for choice in Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydroc, Boconnoc, Cothele and many more.

Children can be entertained at many of the attractions, including the local Leisure Centre (5 minutes away), Trethorne Leisure Farm (30 minutes away), the Monkey Sanctuary near Looe (15 minutes away), the Donkey Sanctuary at Gunnislake (20 minutes away), or any of the numerous beaches on the North or South coasts of Cornwall.

Of course, many of our visitors take the 40 minute trip to the famous 'Eden Project' to experience the Mediterranean and Rain Forest biomes.
