Easter Special: 7 Days for the price of 5! Book a 5 night stay during April and get 2 extra days added to your stay free of charge.

Located on the island of Elbow Cay, Ruma Kami offers spectacular views of the Sea of Abaco. A taste of Bali in a private setting close to Hope Town & steps to the private community water front.

Ruma Kami Guest is a private 1 bedroom villa on the Ruma Kami estate. The villa features an over large private bedroom with king size memory foam bed and a luxurious ensuite bathroom. All linens, towels, and beach towels provided.

Additional features include a fully equipped kitchenette, separate living room with sofa that converts to a single bed and a private deck. The villa also features independent A/C, an automatic backup generator, streaming video entertainment system and full WiFi coverage throughout the property.

Ruma Kami was designed for outdoor living. The private outdoor living area features a thatched roof gazebo with sunken seating and makes a great place for relaxing with a good book or sharing sundown refreshments.

Guests are welcomed on the upper deck dining area where a continental breakfast is served every morning from 8 -10.

Our community dock features steps leading down to the sea for a swim or snorkel!

If you decide to rent a boat during your stay, you can dock at the community waterfront during the day only.

The island features many great restaurants, a dive shop, several boat rentals, deep sea fishing charters and the world’s last remaining kerosene fired, manually operated lighthouse. If you’re really nice to the light house operator, he might even let you help light the lamp with him at sundown.

Concierge services are available for whatever your island adventure dreams include and we can help you arrange your trip down to the island with charter flights from the executive jet terminal at West Palm Beach at a remarkably affordable price.

Your hosts and their chocolate lab live on the property and are available to help you get the most from your island vacation. Join them for coffee in the morning, and cocktails at sunset or you can be as private as you like, the choice is yours.

Elbow Cay is approximately 250 miles due East of West Palm Beach. Elbow Cay is a Bahamian Out Island only 5 miles long and about half a mile wide at the widest point

The neighborhood is very quiet, but close to all the attractions on the island. Our eastern and northern shores border the Atlantic Ocean and feature miles of pristine and empty white sandy beaches. The beaches offer opportunities to snorkel, surf, kayak, or kite board. There are also many bars and restaurants along the beach front.

Our western and southern shores border the tranquil bright blue Sea of Abaco and offers great diving, boating and fishing adventures as well.

The neighboring islands of Abaco are just a short boat ride away as are some of the most famous classic beach bars in the world.

Your stay at Ruma Kami includes the use of 2 bicycles, or arrangements can be made prior to your arrival for a golf cart and/or boat rental so getting around the island will be easy.

The Lucayos community dock is only for daytime use as it offers no protection from the wind. Arrangements for weekly dock space in the Hope Town Harbor can be set up for you at an extra charge.

If you want to visit the neighboring islands but aren't interested in renting a boat on your own, arrangements can be made for private boat tours, scuba and snorkel trips, and fishing charters .

Get to Ruma Kami via Marsh Harbour International Airport on the neighboring island of Abaco. Then a short taxi ride to the Hope Town ferry ( arrangements can be made for your pickup) and a 30 minute ferry ride to Hope Town where your hosts will be waiting for you.

AMAZING!!!

  • 5 of 5

All the previous reviews are spot on. Wonderful out-island (Elbow Cay), wonderful accommodations and Amazing Hosts. The owners Neil & Phyllis were there for us to meet whatever need or question we had. They met us upon arrival and helped us shove off when it was time to leave. The accommodations are best suited for one couple. Our morning breakfast prepared by Phyllis (who is a gourmet chef) changed each day, made from scratch, healthy with many different options to choose from morning. The Drori's were amazingly accommodating yet they gave us our space. The property layout allows abundant quite spaces to relax after a day of boating, snorkeling or just visiting the island. Power throughout the island (as all out-islands) tends to go down a few hours at a time. Not at Ruma Kami as they have a generator that made sure we always had power and a/c. Thank you Neil and Phyllis for your hospitality and simply put . . . for just being you. The Greens.

Great hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, clean and quiet. We had issues with finding a boat and golf cart (due to the summer months, everything was booked). Neil(the owner) called around for us and put his name on a waiting list and the day we arrived he was able to get us a boat and golf cart. The island is only 7 miles so If you are worried about location everything is 5-10 minutes on the golf cart. I thought location wise would be a big deal but it doesn't matter what end of the island you stay on. Phyllis is a great cook and always had a smorgasbord of yummy home cooked food on the table in the morning. There is a dock 200 feet from the villa that we went snorkeling around and it has lots of cool fish and starfish. They are great about giving you tips and suggestions for places to eat and things to do but they give you privacy. We are a younger couple with a baby and they did everything that they could to accommodate us!

Neil and Phyllis are wonderful hosts. Every morning we were greeted with enthusiasm and a delicious breakfast . We are considering purchasing property on the island so Neil and Phyllis were extremely helpful informing us of all the ins and the outs of island life. The guest house was super comfy and cozy. It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary.

Unique in Style, Unique as sole B & B HOPE TOWN !

  • 5 of 5

Ruma Kami stands alone in dramatic

archetype, everything the pictures show and a great deal more. The cottage feels romantically secluded yet your hosts Neil and Phyllis are but steps away.

It's up to you schedule your delicious morning buffet created by Phyllis, a celebrated Cook who published a wonderful pictorial of her nutritious recipes. Scrumptious granola with fresh kiwi or strawberries mangoes ,her bagels and muffins. Smoked fish, many cheeses with homemade crackers hot cereal and divine coffee. They've worked hard to grow their own fruits and vegetables not an easy job on the islands rocky soil.

Please ask any questions or suggestions, this why love what.they do..personable and caring , you're in capable hands

The guess house is lovely with a memory foam mattress ,a large striking bathroom and huge shower

And if you're missing a little home comfort at night, Niel has installed the finest state of the art, streaming TV Video and music intertainment center. There's a galley kitchen with 2 burners mini fridge.coffee pot and toaster oven. I doubt few would need more with the great island fare so close by.

Believe me you will wonder if you're not much further that the Abacos.

The people, the spectacular home and setting and certainly the gastronomical delight of Phyillis" cooking rate a thumbs up ☆☆☆☆☆

So Much More Than Expected!

  • 5 of 5

If you're enchanted by the beauty and character of this lovely villa- multiply your expectations ten-fold and you won't be disappointed! The King bedroom is much larger than it appears- as is the gorgeous Master Bath and Living Area. The lovely hardwood flooring lends to the flow and spaciousness felt throughout the Villa. Although there is also a cool-in-the-afternoon-breeze deck attached, we were also encouraged to use the HUGE deck sitting a story and a half higher, overlooking the Sea of Abaco...breathtaking! If you want another option, a few steps down is an octoganol seating area with cushions and candles in the open air for reading, conversation or just relaxing. If you want your toes in the sea, or a swim- just walk a few steps to the dock and enjoy!

Everyone has mentioned Phyllis's delicious and healthy culinary expertise- again, whatever you're expecting, you will still be incredulous! Her Breakfast Banquet (which we coined her morning meal) was simply out of this world. Use the bikes, don't rent a golf cart so you are able to partake in her amazing creations without regret. Creative, fresh, delectable, delicious and generous are her amazing offerings.

Neil handled all of our arrangements on point, including step by step detailed instructions from airport to Hope Town and was waiting for us w/ his golf cart as our water taxi arrived. He was more than happy to get us to dinner after dark, and made sure we were well taken care of. Neil and Phyllis are an amazing and gregarious couple who have traveled the world, including living a number of years on their boat. We never tired of hearing about their adventures and escapades, and mentally added to our "must do" travel agendas. They are clearly a family-first couple, and we appreciated that quality in them immensely.

The Drori's have lived in Hope Town many years, if you'd like recommendations, they will gladly help you decide between options. They never steered us wrong.

We would be remiss if we neglected to mention sweet Sabra, their 13 year old Chocolate Lab. She is the grand mistress of Ruma Kami- the gentlest of souls who will most definitely ease you into complete and utter island mode.

We so enjoyed our stay, and so will you- obviously, without hesitation, we highly recommend Ruma Kami Villa.

About Neil or Phyllis Drori

We grew up in Canada, lived in Vermont for almost 20 years and then moved on to a 40 foot sailboat where we lived full time for 7 years.

We got to Hope Town by accident! Our plan was to go south from Miami but the wind didn't co-operate and we ended up in Abaco instead, fell in love with the place and never left!

Neil is a seasoned road warrior and teaches computer science to the kids at the local grade school. Phyllis is a published gourmet cook and a Yoga teacher. She runs regular classes for both locals and visitors during the winter season and also teaches Yoga to the kids at the island grade school. She practices every day and if Yoga is your thing she would be happy to practice with you.

Neil or Phyllis Drori purchased this villa in 2014
