The apartment is on the second (top) floor of a new block situated on the edge of the small village of Chirles in the mountains West of Benidorm which is 20min away by car. It is South-facing with lovely country and mountain views plus a distant sea-view. The village has a distinctly Spanish flavour and three good restaurants and a small super-market. Parking for 2 cars is available in the basement car-park. There is no lift. The area is ideal for people who want relaxation, peace and quiet.
Enjoy the peace and tranquility away from the madding crowd in this lovely apartment in the hills of Spain. Go walking or climbing in the mountains to your heart's content. Relax with a glass of cava on the South-facing balcony before strolling to one of the fine retaurants in the village for a menu del dia with wine for about €15.
If you want the beach or some night-life, take the 20-minute drive to Benidorm. Nature and theme parks are a 15-minute drive away.
We are a retired British couple living in Moraira which is about 40 minutes away by car from our apartment so we are easily accessible to resolve any problems that may arise.

The area of Chirles/Polop is very rural with wonderful mountain views and appealed to us as a get-away area to relax, go walking, etc. after the busier urban environment where we live.
The apartment was bought off-plan after a friend introduced us to the area. The village has a unique Spanish character in the hills West of the coast yet only 20 mins by car from Benidorm, even closer to several theme parks to satisfy our children & grand-children. We were not disappointed by the quality of the construction and use the apartment ourselves for several weeks through the winter.

We booked this apartment at relatively short notice, after deciding on the basis of the dismal weather forecast for the UK to exchange Scottish winter walking for some hiking and scrambling in the Spanish sunshine. The owners were helpfulness itself in sorting out the arrangements for our stay, and kind enough to wait in the apartment an extra hour to let us in when our flight out was delayed. Our security deposit was refunded rapidly once we were home.
The property itself was clean and simply though adequately furnished. We we able to have a few breakfasts on the balcony enjoying the views across to El Ponoch. The cooking utensils and pans weren't in the best of conditions, so perhaps not a kitchen in which to attempt gourmet cooking but we were able to manage fine, and whilst most of the restaurants in Xirles itself seemed to be closed during the off season there was plenty of choice in nearby Polop (within easy walking distance). Being able to use a washing machine was an additional bonus for us. There is garage parking underneath the apartment building , but we didn't actually use this as there was plenty of space on the street.
The location was perfect for us, giving easy access to the surrounding mountains for hiking/scrambling/via ferrata yet being within easy reach of the larger towns on the coast for shopping and a short drive from Alicante airport.
In short, this was an excellent place to stay for what proved a very enjoyable break and we plan to return next Winter.

For us we honestly couldn't ask for more and found the location at the foot of echo valley is extremely handy when wanting a later start to the day.
Xirles is a quiet town with little in the way of amenities but you are only a very short drive away if somewhere more substantial is required.
Overall, the property was in great condition and clean, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or repeat book for a return visit.
My daughter and I booked this apartment for a weeks climbing holiday.
It was ideal for our needs, comfortable, clean and hot water for showers/baths.
It was also in a very good location for the climbing we wanted to do in the area.
A clean and well maintained apartment with all you need for a comfortable stay. Xiries is an excellent location if you are in the area for climbing or walking with all the main areas within easy driving distance. There's a great view up Echo valley from the south east facing balcony - a great spot for a sunny breakfast.
We stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks in September and had a fantastic time. We were well situated for what we wanted to do, which was walking. It was still fairly hot for big altitude walks but went down to coast on hot, no-breeze days. It's perfectly situated between sea and mountain, hence our choice of location. You can actually see the Med from the balcony and also, in the other direction, Monte Ponoch ('El Leon Dormido' the sleeping lion) which I sat looking at each evening with my well-earned pint. There is a well-serviced selection of bolted rock climbs up there which, as an ex-rock climber, looked impressive (if only I could still do it). Highly recommended.
The apartment is in the small village of Chirles (Xirles) about 1.5 km from Polop off the road to Guadalest. There are views of the Bernia and Monte Ponoch mountains and a distant view of the sea. The area is very rural and away from the bustle of Benidorm though it is accessible in 20 minutes. The hill-top towns of Polop and La Nucia have a distinctly Spanish flavour with regular fiestas and weekly markets.
It is also conveniently placed for the theme parks of Terra Mitica, MundoMar and Aqualandia which are about 15 mins away by car.
The South-facing apartment overlooks a valley of orange and lemon groves and a small farm.
Guadalest is about 20 minutes away by car and has a convent which is flood-lit at night and built on top of a cliff with lovely views of a lake and surrounding country.
