Great find and very comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

We were impressed with the cottage, its location and the facilities provided. It was very comfortable and warm (once we had worked out the heating which is probably very straightforward but we found it a bit temperamental for the first two days (it was switched off at the boiler when we arrived and we were advised not to touch boiler controls so that threw us a bit). All else was fine and we would have no hesitation in returning to this property in Pittenweem which is a lovely working fishing village that has an interesting layout and all the usual shops/cafes etc.

Overall, South Gable was well appointed and a great rental price.

Great property for a family break in lovely location.

  • 5 of 5

Spent week here with our three kids. Great property; comfortable, warm, and well equipped (probably the best equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a rental!). TV's been updated since the photos were taken too. Friendly welcome on arrival day. Pittenweem's a charming place and a great base from which to explore Fife. Thanks!

Perfect holiday setting for any season!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this bright and comfortable home in the charming village of Pittenweem. Attractive decor, lovely view, comfortable furniture, very well equipped with top of the line appliances and anything you might wish for in the kitchen. Great heating system and lots of hot water. Excellent WiFi. Cellphone coverage in this part of Fife is weak, so come prepared to use WiFi-based communications (Skype, etc.) Perfect location for golfers and walkers. We hated to leave, and hope to return soon!

Great cottage in Pittenweem

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a second great holiday in South Gable Cottage. Over the years we have had many holidays in Fife & this is certainly one of the very best places we have stayed in. It is so relaxing sitting in the lovely light & airy lounge watching the changing seas & skies from the French windows. Walking along the coastal path to the East Pier Smokery St. Monans to eat fresh lobster was our favourite day out. We hope to return next year. Thank you.

Average townhouse

  • 3 of 5

I try to rate based on my previous experiences and this place is average in most respects. That doesn't mean that I consider it bad, it's just not "very good" or excellent. The place is not on the water and did not come with any amenities such as soap or shampoo. The shower drains slowly but I'm sure they can fix that. The heat situation is a little weird and is not easy to control. We didn't bother with the tv since it seemed hopeless. The price was reasonable but I would personally look for something a little more expensive/nicer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. As part of our 'Meet and Greet' service we try to help with getting to 'know' the cottage. When arriving from overseas the gas central heating controls and television/satellie controls can seem somewhat confusing but we are always available to help in these situations and are only a phone call away. We hope you had a lovely holiday in Scotland.

Great holiday situated in a kingdom of Fife.

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a well appointed base, very easy to get to and find. It is a well kept house with every thing you need down to the toilet roll. We would recommend stopping there to any one. If you a bit unsteady on your feet the stair case could be a bit of a challenge, and getting used to going downstairs to bed. There are great views out of the lounge window, facing out to the Firth of Forth, and the Isle of May. Great stay.
