Why George Johnson, Jr. or Debbie Johnson chose Bailey Island
Just as with another seasonal 5 bedroom cottage which they own and rent, and as with the house they live in, this house offers tenants access to Little Harbor; summer playground to multiple generations of the Johnson family. Located towards the end of Hugh Avenue, the Lil' Harbor Guest House sits above and away from Hugh Avenue, offering ocean views and sunrises. Modern in its design and concept, Debbie and George view this cute little house as a potential single-story retirement home for themselves. The home is easily suited for 3 season living, and can be operated throughout the year. In the meantime, before they "retire" they will operate it as a rental.
What makes this House unique
The lovely ocean breeze, sunrises, sunsets, and the constantly changing views of the ocean that surround us on Bailey Island are unique gifts, particularly in the summertime. Having access to the ocean from a nearby residence is simply amazing. The relaxed, family friendly lifestyle on the island is a bonus too!

Perfect cozy little cottage
We come to Maine pretty often as we love the state and in particular bailey island. This house was amazing as it is brand new and really clean. It has everything you could need (even AC) and nice channel selection on the tv. The bed was comfortable. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of waves was definitely one of the highlights. We will definitely be back and can recommend this house to everyone!
Thank you for your great review, & we look forward to welcoming you on your next stay with us on Bailey Island at the Little Harbor Guest House!

Beautiful and relaxing
A wonderful place to relax and unwind. Extremely clean and comfortable. Huge front deck with amazing ocean views. We will definitely visit again.
The house was great! Loved all the decor and the overall relaxing feel of the house. The deck was amazing. We wish we had more time to enjoy our time out on it. The view is gorgeous and the sound of the ocean is surreal. I'd never get tired of those views and that sound. The only thing we had a little bit of an issue with, would be the drive way. It had rained a few days we were there and with the driveway being gravel and so steep, it was difficult getting up it. We had to reverse a few times and try again. Truly though, it was wonderful!
So glad you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again in the future! We are looking into a different surface for the driveway in hopes that will solve any issues for your future visits.
Peaceful cottage on a hill
My daughter and I had a wonderful few days exploring Bailey Island. The house was clean, neat and well appointed with everything we needed. We found Giants Stairs Park and sailed the bay on the Schooner Alert. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck after walking to the island art museum and browsing a curio shop. Lobster for every meal - so what's not to like!
Super quiet and quaint cottage with a beautiful water view!
The accommodations were charming, new and stylish! We stayed very last minute after dropping my son off to college at Bowdoin. The stay was relaxing and the scenery and sunsets are spectacular! We can't wait to come back!
Thank you for review. We are so glad your time here was everything you hoped for. George and I wish you and your new college student every success and hope that they settle in quickly and make Midcoast Maine there second home.
Have a great start to your school year, as well.

A perfect little get away
Far from home (Chicago) but not far from Boston, we traveled to the Guest House on Bailey Island hoping to relax. We loved it and did not want to leave. The guest house is just how the pictures look. Brand new and beautifully decorated with everything we needed. There was room for the three of us with the folding futon for a 2nd bed. The large front deck has nice wood chairs for relaxing and a picnic table with umbrella for when it rained. We enjoyed coffee and a book on the deck every morning as we looked out over the water. We walked the path to the little harbor and looked out to the open ocean. We climbed the Giant's Stairs nearby, went on many hikes and climbed many rocks along the ocean. We hope to be back someday! Thank you George and Debbie.
Traffic does not drive directly in front of this cottage, nor turn around in the driveway. This cottage site is above Hugh Avenue and set back about 90 feet away from that road. The main road, Harpswell Islands Road is not visible from either side of the cottage.
