About Suzanne Baranoski
We are a family of five who live in Charleston, SC. I grew up here in South Carolina and my husband is from Pennsylvania. We met at College of Charleston and have been married for 21 years. We have three teenage children that have grown up coming to this lake house.
Suzanne Baranoski purchased this House in 2010
Why Suzanne Baranoski chose Summerton
My family has always owned a house on Lake Marion and we are so grateful to have found this cabin to carry on this tradition for our children. We have family friends that owned the house across the canal and purchased this house after visiting them.

Great, simple cabin with plenty of parking. PERFECT tournament spot
Great little laid back cabin, with protected water to leave a boat docked. Easy access to John C Land Landing via water, and plenty of parking in the yard for trucks/boats.
Great lake house rental.
Everything was awesome. The location was perfect for our SC Bass Federation tournament. Lots of room for our trucks and boats- close to the public boat landing and real nice neighbors. The lake level was too low to use the landing at the house but the public landing was just down the road. We had a great time!!!
We had a great stay at this cozy cabin. The real highlight is the large screen porch with it's twin bed size swing where I spent most of my time between going out to Charleston and other outings. The area is quiet and we had a restful week away from our usual responsibilities. One tip is when going out for supplies or shopping, it's better to drive to Santee instead of Manning, more things to find there. If you are looking for a good place to go to dinner, try The Captains Quarters in Santee, amazing food and wonderful service.
We were impressed with this house - large room in the house as well as rear deck. Lake Marion, however, is disappointing. Neighbor said water by the house not swimmable due to low oxygen (hence bacteria). Lake itself is loaded with stumps so boating is less than enjoyable. We stayed in the larger cove.
YES YES YES Perfect family get away
3 generations with a total of 7 of us spent a week at this lovely lake house. It had everything we needed & more. The kids & grandkids used the canoe, kayaks, swam & fished. We spent hours on the screened in porch. More hours playing board games at the huge kitchen table.
The house provided TV's & DVD players but we only used it one night when the teens watched a cheesy scary movie.
Even the night it stormed we all enjoyed it on the screened porch talking, laughing, playing music & making memories.
The house is located on a quiet channel & is located close to the end so there is no boat traffic. Made fishing & kayaking safe & easy.
As 2 of the grandkids are soon out of high school this may have been our last family vacation. I am so glad we choose this house to spend it in.
The owner Susan was so quick to respond. One of the best owners to communicate with I've ever had.
I would highly recommend you give this house a try if you are looking for a place to relax. We would defiantly rent this house again.
Awwwww, thanks Terri! I am so happy you and your family had as great a time as we do when we go:-) Thanks for a lovely review and please come back again!
