Clean property, terrible reservation system
The property is nice and clean. It is a fairly new property for rental. We met the owner and he is a great guy, they put a lot of thought trying to make sure guests are comfortable .
The property is actually a shared building with the owner space. Upstairs is where the owner live, this is a lower ground property. So you will hear some footsteps or running water during your stay. But it doesn't bother us and the owner is very thoughtful, they are very cautious trying not to make noise.
The dining room is spacious, it sits 6 people comfortably. The living room is quite spacious. We have a family of 7 and we sit comfortably on the sofa. The entertainment choice is amazing. They have over 700 movies and more.
The bedroom is spacious with tv in every room. The boys loves the daybed with the trundle.
Kitchen is a little small, it is hard for two people to be working in the kitchen. Kitchen is equipped only with basic necessities. 8 dinner plates, 8 bowls and 8 salad plates. Plenty of glasses. Several pots, pans, slow cooker, coffee machines, cake mixer, several corning ware and baking pan. There is dishwashing liquid but no sponge or hand soap.
The bathroom has hair dryer and little bit of hand soap.
Plenty of garbage bags of many different sizes and some toilet papers.
The only downside to this is the reservation system. We book this thru vrbo/home away. But the property manager is not responsive at all. None of our communication thru vrbo/homeaway email or calling the number shown on vrbo/homeaway got any respond back at all. It wasn't until I got reservation confirmation from Lake Junaluska property management that I finally has a direct number to call them. Even then I have to call them multiple times. They told me that in the future to not contact them thru vrbo/homeaway. The people on the phone is not very friendly. So why do they list property in vrbo/homeaway in the first place because vrbo charge me extra $100 booking thru them.
After booking the place, to my surprise we found out that the rental does not come with any linens or bath/kitchen towels at all. That is an extra $100+tax to rent the linen (bed sheets, pillow cases, kitchen towels, bath towels). Upon check out, all the linens have be taken off and beds need to be made. This is one of the strange check out list that I have ever seen.
None of the information is in vrbo/homeaway when I book the place.
Centrally located, beautiful views
All in all this was a great pick for the area and was reasonably priced. Securing our reservation was more cumbersome then I would have preferred (multiple phone calls made on our part to confirm the reservation and know what items we needed to bring/were provided.
