Up for grabs is a private room in a 2-bedroom apartment in Jersey City, across the Hudson River from Manhattan. The room comes with a brand new bed, and an HDTV with Apple TV for your private use. The apartment is a 15 minute walk from the subway.
My apartment is spacious (1000 sq ft) and features wi-fi, HD cable and a landline phone which I will of course make available to you. I further employ a remarkable cleaning lady who comes by the apartment once/month.
**If you can find a private room within 5 miles of mine for a lower price, I will match the price.**
You will have full access to my entire apartment except for my office and the kitchen's main refrigerator.
I work from home on a semi-regular basis and come home nightly on the days I do not. Further, I'm always available via e-mail and text to answer questions.
I am a recent Harvard graduate and young professional who is happy to show you around the City; I will even take you to the Harvard Club of New York upon request. However, I am employed and cannot be your sidekick for your entire stay.
My neighborhood is definitely safe as I have come home at odd hours numerous times and have never had a problem, even while dressed professionally. There is a 24-hour Walgreens 3 blocks from my apartment that can provide you with most things you'd need, as well as a McDonalds, 7-Eleven, White Castle and Subway next to the PATH stop that operate on a 24-hour basis.
The PATH train is a 15-minute walk from my apartment and as mentioned, will get you to/from Manhattan on a 24/7 basis. The cost is $2.75/person/ride. Further, there are multiple buses that run from the PATH station to my apartment, though most guests find that the walk is short enough that these buses are not needed.
