We are transplants from California, and moved to Boston for the weather... seriously! We love the seasons, the history, the architecture and the people of Boston.
Amanda purchased this Townhome in 2011
Why Amanda chose Thompson Square / Bunker Hill
We bought this home 7 years ago out of an estate. The former owners had lovingly cared for it, with 4 generations of their family having lived in it. It had not been updated since 1969, and as a professional interior designer I was looking for a restoration project. 7 years (and complete gut-renovation later) we'd like to take a bit of a break and travel the country, offering this home as a rental.
What makes this Townhome unique
Our home lives on Monument Ave and the Revolutionary War's Breed's Hill (aka Bunker Hill) in the neighborhood of Charlestown. This street is host to the annual Bunker Hill parade in June as well as the Halloween Children's parade. The Charlestown neighborhood is the family-friendly neighborhood to live in as it's only a 5-7 minute bus ride downtown (or 15 minute walk) yet it's removed from the hustle and bustle of the city.

What a lovely property with so many personal touches. My 3 generations of family enjoyed gathering in the cozy living/dining space to plan our day and then retiring to our quiet bedrooms each night after a fun day of sightseeing. The location is fantastic and the neighborhood is the perfectly located for walking to local restaurants and for a delicious cup of coffee! Our stay was too short and we can’t wait to return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience both with the house and the Charlestown/Boston area. Terrific neighborhood with many amenities within a short walking distance. The home was clean and beautiful and we had a wonderful family vacation.
Grand children visit to Beantown
This property fit our needs excellently. We were within walking distance or the "T" to all historical sights. Access was easy, efficient and we were able to show the new Boston to all. Thank you, Amanda and Jeff
A wonderful family gathering in a beautiful home
Amanda's home could not be more warm and inviting. It was sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, and perfectly located! Amanda responded to small questions by text within minutes. I could not have found a more perfect place to have gathered with my family to celebrate a milestone in our lives.
Thank you again Amanda!!!
! Unbelievable !
Amanda’s 3-story brownstone was historical on the outside, built in 1855. But on the inside this $1.9 million dollar property shined with all the modern amenities. The kitchen and Butler’s pantry is the coolest I’ve ever seen and was a great meeting place for my wife, 2 daughters, and our 2 son-in-laws each morning. Each night one daughter would play the piano, we would all play dominoes at the dining room table, and it was a great place for the 6 of us to begin and end each day (including one entire afternoon, haha). What a joy and how relaxing to make the short trek to/from Boston each day to the cobblestone and gas lamps that line the quiet Charlestown streets. Always safe ... a lot of young moms/dads/nannies out with toddlers at all times in the day. AND there are not enough words to describe the comfort of the master suite ... especially the bed and pillows ...WOW!!! The only thing better than the property was the interaction with Amanda. THANKS SO MUCH FOR AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!
This place is just as advertised. Amanda has thought of everything for her guests. Super easy check in, place was clean and looks exactly like the photos. Location was great for ease of access to explore anywhere in Boston.
Amanda was available to address any questions we had but everything was described in detail in the renters manual she has prepared.
Excellent place would definitely stay again.
Home is located off of Boston's Historic Freedom Trail path, and on the hill that leads up to the Bunker Hill Monument on Breed's Hill
