My kids were born on Kodiak island in 2002 and 2004. We moved to Anchorage after living remotely for nearly 20 years. The change has been great and the family has enjoyed all that Anchorage and the road system has to offer. We are a pretty adventurous bunch, so if you are wondering what to see or do, chances are we have done it! If you are trying to plan a fun filled few days or few weeks and need some tips, just give me a call anytime.
Julie Briles purchased this condo in 2005
Anchorage is the main hub for the entire state. After staying in hotels with the kids when I came to 'town' for shopping or business, I decided there had to be a better way! Staying in a hotel just didn't work for us any more, and we knew other families would appreciate an alternative. We enjoy all Anchorage has to offer! It is an amazing city where you can go to the theater, enjoy 5 star dining, and see a moose on the way home!
The location is wonderful for shopping, restaurants, the airport, hospitals and activities. You can come back home after a day sightseeing, take a nap and go out to dinner just blocks away....or stay in, pop a cork on some wine and cozy up to the fireplace and toss a steak on your personal grill on the balcony.
Each one of my units has baby gear! You will find a high chair, porta-crib, and umbrella stroller in the coat closet to make you stay with the little guy so much easier.
No going to the laundromat to do your laundry either. These units have washer/dryers in the units for your exclusive use.
Julie, this was fantastic! The directions with the grocery store stop-over advice were great. We stopped and got juice and snacks, but on the way in, I realized I did'nt get coffee. When I arrived & found coffee with all the fixins, I was ecstatic. So in the morning I sat with a great cup of coffee to start my day, thanks!
I want to commend your decor. Your rich Alaska themes are wonderful, even down to the towels and sheets!
The rental was as advertised, clean and easily accessible.
Overall this rental was great and served our family's needs. The unit was tastefully decorated, and beds were comfortable. We liked the extra towels in the bathroom and the stocked kitchen. The neighborhood was a bit busy with cars and people, and not as private as we wanted, but it did provide quick access to the highway. A good pick for families and those who want to travel around the Anchorage area.
This condo was in the perfect location for us. It was close to family we were visiting in Anchorage and it was conveniently located near routes to area attractions. The condo had a well stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes, pans, etc. for us to cook meals and there were plenty of towels. This alone made us very happy as we've stayed in other rentals which had bare necessities. The neighborhood was quiet and the condo's two parking spots were appreciated when family came to visit. If it's available, we will definitely try to rent this property again on our next trip to Anchorage.
We stayed on the 4th floor for the first night. It was yucky. The hall smelled like the bottom of an ashtray. The room however was clean and had no cigarette smell.
We were then moved to the 3rd floor and that was pleasant. I enjoyed the stay in that room. The customer service was great. I like the restraint nearby. The kids enjoyed the pool. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay in this 2 bedroom property! The location was very central to traveling North, South and East for our day hikes and outings. The property was clean and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed. By our 3rd day, we were referring to the condo as "home" which I think is the best compliment. We especially appreciated having a washer and dryer while vacationing! The home owner was very prompt in all communication and made this process perfectly delightful. We would highly recommend staying here while in Anchorage! Thank you, Julie!
We are from Soldotna needing a place for a few days and this was perfect. The location was convenient for us. The house was clean and has a variety of household goods in the kitchen that help while cooking and preparing food. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean.
We were very pleased with this rental and would recommend it to anyone needing a place that feels like a home and not a hotel.
The Books Family from Soldotna
Our location is just perfect for day trips around Anchorage and attractions within the city. Must see's are The Native Cultural Center to learn about Alaska's indigenous peoples, The Anchorage Museum, The Alaska Zoo, Alaska Railroad Depot...I strongly suggest a train trip for breathtaking scenery and viewing wildlife, Hike Flat Top Mountain, Walk or bike The Coastal Trails, Potters Marsh for bird and wildlife viewing, Portage Glacier, Alyeska Ski Chalet in summer for tram rides to the top or world class skiing in winter, Crow Creek Mine in Girdwood for some fun panning for gold, and lets not forget The Double Musky Inn for a 5 star dinner in a log cabin! Dress casual and bring your appetite
