Casa Angel was designed by Miguel Valverde, a well known Mexican Architect whose work has been featured in Houses of the Pacific Coast. It is so lovely and graceful with a fantastic setting! The expansive ocean view includes a long stretch rugged coastline, the palm-lined beach, as well as the lagoon where the fishermen of Sayulita moor their boats. On the land side, Casa Angel sits directly beside a wild and completely undeveloped jungle canyon. The ocean breezes are nearly constant, and you can fall to sleep to the gentle sound of waves breaking on the shore. At night, the lights of Sayulita glitter below. The sunsets are magnificent, and in every room are large wooden doors and windows, which fold open to create an airy indoor/outdoor lifestyle perfect for the tropics.
Surrounding Casa Angel is an extensive, flower-filled garden, and a lush level lawn. Beyond the lawn is a gracefully curved salt water pool, not a dipping pool, but one that is large enough to swim laps. And it is all yours. Since there are no casitas or other units on the property, once you close the garden gate behind you, no one will enter except at your invitation. Lounge in the sunshine or take a night swim in the sparkling lighted pool.
Casa Angel features three totally separate, private bedrooms with adjoining baths. The upstairs Master Bedroom is ringed with a flower box filled with yellow, pink, and purple blooms. The upstairs bedroom has an outstanding water view. The downstairs Lilac bedroom opens directly onto the patio and pool, and not only has a gorgeous ocean view, but looks out as well into the wild jungle canyon. The house can sleep six people in style, and if needed, there are blow up mattresses for an extra child or two.
The breathtaking natural surroundings, combined with an exceptional attention to detail, literally surround you with beauty. Ringing the floors of each of the round rooms, as well as in the pool, patio, and paths you will find delicate inlaid stone vines and flowers by talented artisan Lupe Ascencia. And from her place in the garden, an exquisite hand carved stone angel watches over the house.
Casa Angel offers luxury furninghings throughout. In the Verde Bedroom you will find fine hardwood furniture from Malaysia, the Azul bedroom has local Mexican furnishing and in the Lila Bedroom, a beautiful white four poster bed with a canopy. Curvy wrought iron outdoor chairs and a marble table allow you to eat outdoors in style, while chaise lounges and chairs imported from the United States make you comfortable around the pool. The kitchen counters and the patio are crafted of a beautiful mango colored local rock called Tekul. An elegant wicker sofa sectional and tribal rug grace the living room area, and the round dining table and chairs were custom made by an artisan who works in a small village outside Guadalajara.
Carmina our maid will clean three days a week except Sunday (unless this is not wanted.) Our local English and Spanish speaking house manager, Eric will be available to handle any problems or questions which arise. Air conditioning is available in all three bedrooms during the summer months, and is not needed at other times because of the almost constant ocean breezes. The walk down to the beach is only about five minutes, but because the house sits high on a hill, if you are disabled or out of shape for walking, you may wish to bring a car, which you can park in the palapa covered carport just beyond the garden gate. The house is located on a good cobblestone road. Town is a ten minute walk and the beach is a 5 minute walk.

About Property Manager
We're the Simpson family from Vermont. We are avid snowboarders and skiers and enjoy surfing, paddle boarding, golf and yoga. We fell in love with Sayulita from the start and hope you will enjoy the many shops, dining and sport activities it has to offer. Sayulita is a perfect blend of an authentic Mexican pueblo and a modern bohemian village.

Awesome home, great location!
Casa Angel is every bit as beautiful as the pictures. The location, in Sayulita's North End provides beautiful views of the town and the main beach but still feels close to everything. Eric was very responsive and helpful upon our arrival and Carmina was so sweet. We hired her to cook two meals for us which were delicious. We can't wait to return to this vibrant and beautiful place!
Thank you Kevin for your lovely review. I will pass on all this information to Eric and Carmina, they will be so happy to hear such nice compliments. You are welcome back anytime! Happy 2018
WAY past fabulous!!!
As wonderful as the pictures of Casa Angel are, they fall short of showing how special a property this is.
My husband and I were planning our honeymoon and read the wonderful reviews of this home. We realized that it was too large for just two of us but we were enchanted with Casa Angel and sent a deposit.
We have rented many homes and have had some great experiences. But our visit to Casa Angel in Sayulita was our favorite ever.
The owner (Sally) and property manager (Eric) went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect.
They saved us a bunch of time and aggravation by giving us the inside edge on transportation, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
The home was equipped with everything we could have ever wanted or needed.
A wonderful local woman (Carmina) came every other day to clean. She doesn’t speak English but her 1000 watt smile is easy to translate. So beautiful. And what a nice treat to come home from the beach to a clean home!!
Sayulita is a very special place and one that we look forward to returning to...soon.
Thank you Kerry! Eric and Carmina enjoyed meeting both of you and hope you'll visit Sayulita and Casa Angel again! It's a special place! Stay warm up north!
The house lived up to my expectations; Eric, the property manager, was awesome!
A beautiful house, overlooking the ocean; it looks just as pictured on the website. The property manager, Eric, was awesome! He made reservations, on our first night, for a taxi and for dinner at a fabulous restaurant. He also made a recommendation/reservation for a fun whale watching Catamaran excursion. I would definitely go with anything he recommends. The housekeeper, Carmina, was sweet and efficient. We hired her to make 2 meals; a traditional Mexican breakfast and an authentic dinner. Both were quite delicious. She made one of the best Chile Rellenos I have ever eaten. In addition, as it was my birthday, I asked her to make a dessert for the dinner. She made me a fabulous cake; moist, light and delectable. I would definitely recommend hiring her to cook some meals. The roads leading from downtown and beaches, to the house, are VERY steep. We rented a golf cart, and were glad. A golf cart made it easier to carry the beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrella (all provided at the house) to the beach. And the cart made it easy to get to the center of town and back home. I hope to come back to this house, someday, with my grown children.
Eric had just been saying that our guest this season have been so nice and fun. Thank you for the wonderful review and we hope that you do visit Sayulita and Casa Angel again with your grown kids! Best, Sally
Best vacation ever
I stayed at Casa Angel with my wife and four of my children. We had a great time. The house gave us plenty of room, was nicely furnished and comfortable. The pool was awesome and private. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the pool and admiring the wonderful view.
Having the alarm gave me peace of mind, as I was concerned that some of our little ones might try to visit the pool without us.
The whole team that looked after the house from the manager to the cleaners and gardeners were very nice.
We hired a golf cart and with young children I think that it made our lives much easier.
We love Sayulita. Thanks to the team at Casa Angel for being a part of the best vacation that I have had to date.
Thank you Tex, Eric and Carmina raved about how nice you were. You are welcome back anytime to Casa Angel, safe travels home and come and visit us soon again. Sally
I have been trying to rent this property for a long time and finally it was open! The photos do not do it justice. The living room and kitchen area are wonderful and open with views to the pool and beyond. The pool is heated and was the perfect temp for dips morning, noon and night. The hill is quite a climb but not as bad as it looks at first. Beware however, that even in this remote location, sound carries. Our first night we slept with the doors wide open, but the noise from the bars, even in the low season, kept up. The house is tucked away on the hill, but an easy walk downtown to all the shops and restaurants. The manager Eric was very helpful and responsive.
Hi, thank you for your review and for staying with us at Casa Angel. Sayulita is a lively town, even in the summer months. We try to recommend closing the windows at night and turning on the air for white noise if you are early to bed. Glad you enjoyed our home, come and visit again! Sally
We really enjoyed the view from the house. We will be back.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our home. We so happy you enjoyed your stay with us, come back again! Sally
Sayulita is an active surfing and fishing town. Stand up Paddle has become a major attraction on the town beach. Lots of restaurants and boutique shopping within walking distance.
