Wallingford Lake House is the perfect place for a family get-away. It is on a quiet street in one Seattle's most walkable, popular, and family-friendly neighborhoods.
This main-floor duplex with private front-porch entrance is located in a charming turn-of-the-century home with tall ceilings, and hardwood floors. We offer 2-3 bedrooms (read on to learn more) and 1.5 bathrooms. The home boasts cozy and carefully selected furnishings, a large and fully stocked kitchen, and all of the comforts of home.
The living area has seating for 6, dining for 6, a shelf with toys, a number of board games, and a large flat-panel Smart TV with cable, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, and a web browser.
A half bath is located in a nook off of the living room, near the entry area. A hallway leads to three bedrooms and a full bathroom with washer/dryer.
The master bedroom in the back of the house features a queen bed, 2 nightstands, above-bed reading lights for 2, a large lighted reach-in closet, and a dresser. It also has a French door to the small, fully fenced side yard.
Adjacent to the master bedroom is a second bedroom with a wooden bunk bed that can safely hold three average-size adults and is popular in local fire stations for the firefighters. The top is a twin mattress and the bottom is a full-sized futon that can be made into a bed or a sofa as desired. The ladder to the top bunk can be stored on the top bunk to prevent access and climbing.
The third bedroom is a "tiny bedroom" featuring a built-in twin sized loft bed that is accessed by climbing up a steel swim ladder. It, too, is sturdy enough for an adult, as it is a fully built-in loft. We do not advise allowing under the age of 6 or extremely active children to use this loft. To prevent access to the loft, you have two options: you can remove the swimming ladder and store it above in the loft, or you can lock the doorknob from the inside and close the door to prevent access to the room. We keep a key in the unit in case this happens unintentionally :).
The living room also has a queen sized pull-out sofa which is a very comfortable foam mattress.
Wallingford Terrace Garden provides sleeping accommodations for up to 8 guests, but note that our top bunk and loft beds are not meant for children under 6 (as is the case with all bunk and loft beds everywhere).
If you are not already familiar with Wallingford, you are in for a treat. The house is located within 6 blocks of some of the best restaurants, coffee shops, storefronts, parks, and sights that Seattle has to offer. Walk to Lake Union, Gasworks Park, the Burke-Gilman Trail, Fremont, the University of Washington and more.
We are a 2-minute drive to 99 (Aurora), 5 minutes to I-5, and 5-10 minutes to the 520 bridge. This provides the perfect commute to locations throughout Seattle and the East side. We have residentially zoned parking on our street, which guarantees easy parking right in front of the house. We have never had issues. We provide a parking permit for the duration of your stay. If you need more than one, just let us know in advance and we are happy to arrange for you to have additional ones at no extra cost.
This is a first floor unit, but it does require walking up porch steps to enter, and it is elevated above the ground level.
