Toby or Roy Panting purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Toby or Roy Panting chose Cape Porpoise
Toby and I purchased the cottage in 2016 and spent over a year performing extensive renovations. We knew the cottage had the possibility to be a classic location that would give the impression of classic coastal Maine. Today it includes all the high tech amenities like the internet, smart TV's, and blue tooth speakers while still maintaining the feel of a small cottage. What makes this cottage unique is the location, amenities and attention to details. The furnishings were purchased with both comfort and style in mind.
What makes this Cottage unique
This cottage can offer some of your best memories of the season. The rear deck is a fabulous place to enjoy a dinner made on the grill or to sit and relax while enjoying the Maine evening breezes. This is a great place to enjoy a cold beverage or just read a book.

Prelude Weekend Visit
We had a wonderful weekend stay at this beautiful, well equipped, and comfortable home.
Although it was a rainy weekend, we were able to enjoy the festivities of Prelude and then come back and thoroughly relax at “home,” which is a short walk to Cape Porpoise stores and restaurants and a quick drive to Kennebunkport.
Roy and Toby are wonderful hosts and I would highly recommend staying in their home.
We stayed in the home for prelude weekend and had a fantastic time! Toby was proactive in communicating check in details and provided a thoughtful welcome basket including a printed itinerary of weekend events. The house is charming and cozy, and was the perfect place for our group of friends to enjoy a weekend away. We also very much appreciated some of the seemingly smaller details that made our stay so comfortable - a carton of half & half in the fridge and tote bags for us to carry our towels and toiletries to the bathroom. We hope to be back some day soon!
Exceptional in every way!
One of the best holiday rentals we've had the pleasure of staying in. It is in a perfect location - you can walk to Cape Porpoise and within an easy drive of great beaches etc. Very quiet and peaceful. The house has been renovated to a very high standard and the attention to detail is superb. We appreciated the quality mattresses, beautiful cotton linens and towels. It's these things that make a good rental a great one! We can't wait to get back.
Thank you again for choosing our property, and I am glad you enjoyed your time in Cape Porpoise. Also, thank you for leaving the property in such good shape.
The cottage is charming in every way and beautifully decorated. It was the perfect place for a fall retreat.
Great experience all the way around. Would definitely stay here again if in Portland!
Cleanest property I've EVER stayed in. Everything perfect. Well-thought out cottage from top to bottom, inside and out. Highly recommend!
Lovely escape from the city!
My family felt right at home at Toby and Roy’s cottage. Everything from the decor, to the proximity to town/water, to the comfortable, plush beds - it was all perfect! We hope to be back for several falls to come. Thank you!
Kennebunkport is one of Maine's most beautiful coastal towns. This is the summer residence of the former President Bush. The Bush compound is about 1.5 miles from the cottage.
The cottage has the benefit of being placed between two coastal towns. Kennebunkport is well known for the restaurants, shopping, and beautiful views.
Cape Porpoise is within walking distance. This offers some of Maine's best values - lobsters! Cape Porpoise is a working lobster port where you can see the lobster boats and observe the fishermen bringing their daily catch to market. You can buy live lobsters for your personal dinner or walk to a classic Maine lobster restaurant and enjoy what they call lobstah and buddah.
