My husband and I have lived in Abufeira for 46 years., coming to Albufeira in 1969, having our own hotel until 1984 when we moved on to run the Quinta da Saudade restaurant for 22 years. We live next door to the Vale Santa Maria apartments and know the area very well, so able to offer information on transport, sightseeing, local attractions, doctors, dentists etc. We love Albufeira and surrounding areas, paricularly this side of Albufeira.
Mrs Louise Hodgson purchased this apartment in 2005
Apartments are spacious, very comfortably furnished, not noisy. Poolside has attractive small pool bar serving drinks and homemade snacks. Ten minute walk to beach and the Old Town, where there is very ambient atmosphere day and night, plenty of bars and restaurants. The marina is fifteen minutes walk and offers boat trips, jet ski, deep sea fishhing..

Not sure if i want to reveal how fantastic this apartment is! Everything in apartment is great,it,s immaculate. Comfy sofa, gorgeous patio, sun all day.pool is 10 steps away and the apartment is the biggest i have stayed in for a one bed although you could sleep 4 no problem.has seating for dining and patio for 6 or more. .5-10 mins walk in to old town which is magical, taxi back if you can't be bothered with the walk back is 4 euro. Louise was very welcoming and apartment is extremely well equipped, well secluded but minutes from the town.the mattress on the beds were fantastic!!! Had some disasters previously.weather was brill. In mid 20's all week.all in all a wonderful week. Didn't want to leave and am looking at flights back and only got off the plane 2 hrs ago. Dont miss this gem but don't book when i want to!!! Thanks louise x
Really lovely apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Louise was especially helpful. Beach is a short walk down the hill and the supermarket is approx 10 min walk away. Would highly recommend it.
Albufeira is at the centre of the Algarve, with the Capital Faro 30 Km to the east and the Spanish border only 60 Km away. Portimao, which has large fishing port and Marina lies 25km to the west. A further 30Kms. brings you to Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, the most westerly point in Europe, where turning up the West Coast the sea is perfect for surfing. Moving inland to Silves, which was originally the Capital of the Algarve, there are steep narrow roads leading to a Moorish ruined castle. Traveling on North about 20Km brings you to the Monchique hills which separate the Algarve from the Alentejo, (a large farming area) Lisbon and the North of Portugal. From the top of Monchique there are spectacular views across the Algarve. There are several water slide parks and Zoomarine, the nearest being fifteen minutes by car. Taxis or local buses are very reasonably priced.
