Romantic Villa Don Camillo lies in a residential housing development called Vizcondado de Cabanyes near Calonge, in a fully enclosed 1000 m² plot with parking at only 5 min. by car from St Antoni and Palamos beaches - 3 terraces one of which is roof terrace with superb views - 3 bedrooms all with airco - Master bedroom with dressing and private balcony - 2 bathrooms - dining room with fire place - separate lounge with airco, fire place and double leather sofa's - nice large swimming pool 12.5 x 4,5 m with outside solar heated shower - fabulous views of mountains and sea incl. port of Palamos. Villa Don Camillo has received major enhancements between 2004 and today (more details on our web pages). The villa has FREE INTERNET & WIFI, HD satelite with ASTRA channels and 37' SHARP HD LCD TV-set. We do have 4 different outside seating are's of which 2 are covered and we also have 2 seperate BBQ's at your disposal. No pets allowed please. We do have a specialized web site so please ask for details.

We have also installed a new dual LNB HD satelite rceiver with a full HD 37' SHARP LCD flat screen TV. During winter 2004-2005 we have executed a number of important enhancements to the villa. Inside the house we have installed a completely new kitchen (floor to ceiling) including a dish washer (requested by some of you), a full height wardrobe in the entry hall and a completely new shower room (floor to ceiling). At the outside, we have redone the exterior paintwork of the house and we have re-designed the garden with rock terraces so as to keep the ground from washing away with rainfall. We have also installed a special area at the bottom of the new garden to play the 'petanque'. Finally, we have constructed a second fixed BBQ-fireplace next to the large covered terrace in order to extend the pleasure of those long summer evenings.

In winter 2007-2008 we have further extended the master bedroom and lounge and installed airco in both these rooms. During winter 2010 we have enhanced the surroundings of the pool and we have installed airco in the 2 other bedrooms. The villa has also received a complete outside paint job. Other goodies ...: Ample garden furniture on site as well as 2 garden B-B-Q's. 'Integral' sun bathing possible on large roof terrace.


Guests ...: The villa is well equipped for 6 persons but is not suitable for persons with physical handicap due to construction on hill side, hence the staircases.

She is constructed on 3 levels with entry hall, kitchen,small terrace and dining room on lower level, one double and one twin bedrooms, both bathrooms and air conditioned lounge on intermediate level and master bedroom with dressing, airco and private terrace on top level. Twin bedroom can easily be converted to queen size double bed. WC's are installed in each bathroom. One of the bath rooms has been completely redone this winter.

The main terrace at the back of the house has ample sitting area for 8 people, has its own BBQ, has lighting and windows and is ideal for long summer night dinners.

Why Julien Anno chose Calonge

Whe purchased this property back in 2001 because of the views, the different relaxing area's and the fact that alongside the pool there is a space which is always in the shade, a rare luxury on those (very) hot summer days. We are using the house ourselves at least during 5 to 6 weeks and we are planning longer stays in early spring and late automn.

In 2001 we looked around in many area's on the 'Baix Emporda' (or mid Costa Brava) but we found Calonge to still have this cool, lazy, cosy and very mediteranian feeling which was not present in many other area's such as Palamos or Platje d'Aro. We found that Calonge never really gave up its 'village'-identity which is very tangible in the village center.

We loved the master bedroom and spent a lot of evenings on the private balcony with its superb view over Palamos bay (Marcel - 2003) Thankyou for allowing us to stay at your villa , it was just what we wanted when its getting cold and wet in the UK. The villa was excellent and we did use the pool a lot. (Grant -2004) - The kids had a wonderfull time while Peter and I have enjoyed the siëstas. Very nice and roomy house, magnificent views and very well secured. Calm area yet very close to the beach and the action (Marlene - 2004). Perfect stay!

We (Familiy with 2 Kids age 8 + 10) had a very beautiful and pleasant stay at Julien's house. The Villa is big, offers every comfort, the pool is fantastic, all the places to sit in and around the house are nice and cosy. For every special time of the day we had a special corner to sit and relax. It is quiet, the villa is very clean, everything there you need and the communication was friendly and hosting. We recommend the Villa 100%!

Have a look for the pictures, they show the Villa, the garden and the pool-area just as they look like in real. Not to mention the pool boy showing up every 2 or 3 days.

Thanks a lot - we sure will return and spend another holiday there.

We have been with 4 people in Villa Don Camillo.

We enjoyed our stay!!!

The Villa is big enough for some more people. WLAN is great. Due to the wind at the end of October ist was too cold to use the pool, but next time we'll try.

The bathrooms are very clean and the beds have been very comfortable. The kitchen is very good equipped and we felt very homely.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for this review. We'd love to have you back next year since this winter we'll bring a couple of extra enhancements to the house espcially designed to improve the confort in spring and late automn. In fact we shall equip the small terrace near the living room with sliding windows and door so that it can be fully enclosed or opened when needed. The living room will be enlarged with some 9m² in doing so. Sitting on that terrace at night will enable guests to have the confort of the living room while having the outside views to the village 200m below.

Our Family Experience

This is a beautifully situated Villa with stunning views of the surrounding area. The Pool area has sun throughout the day with small areas of shade for those less tolerant.

My family and I have stayed at this Villa twice and always found it clean and tidy. The recent installation of Air Conditioning throughout the property has improved things during the really hot nights.

As a family of five we found this Villa to be very spacious and have already agreed to return in 2010. The owner has always been very accommodating and friendly to us during our conversations.

This Villa is Ideal for those who want to get away to a quite retreat, however, its just a short car journey to the local village which has a large selection of Restaurants and of the ones we dined at of a reasonable standard.

I would highly recommend this Villa.

Sehr gepflegtes Haus, aber mit Baustelle

Die Villa Don Camillo ist ein sehr gepflegtes Haus. Der Vermieter kümmert sich gut um die Anlage, so wird der Pool beispielsweise regelmäßig gereinigt und die Außenanlagen werden von einer automatischen Bewässerungsanlage grün gehalten.

Wie in der Beschreibung steht gibt es relativ schnelles Internet, das WLAN reicht allerdings nicht überall hin, so hat man im Wohnzimmer oder auf der Grillterrasse keinen Empfang mehr.

Obwohl das Haus in einem guten Zustand war vergeben wir nur 3 von 5 Sternen. Direkt nebenan war eine Baustelle. Dort wurde während unseres Aufenthalts mit schwerem Gerät gearbeitet. Aus diesem Grund konnten wir kaum draußen sitzen und haben meistens auch die Fenster geschlossen halten müssen. Wir haben den Vermieter darauf hingewiesen und leider nicht mal eine Entschuldigung erhalten. Selbst wenn der Eigentümer nicht direkt in der Umgebung wohnt, können wir uns nicht vorstellen, dass dieser nicht von diesem Bauvorhaben gewusst hat. Lieber Vermieter, so etwas gehört sich nicht!

Owner's Response: Our personal and property specific website clearly mentions that this house is located in a vacation urbanisation. Many plots in this urbanisation are not yet build upon. Furthermore, our rental agreement clearly specifies that building projects may happen from time to time in the (direct) neighbourhood of the property and that we have no possibility whatsoever to know and/or interfere with such projects, hence the fact that we can not be held resposible. Furthermore, is it completely false to claim that we did not even give an appology! In fact we offered this client (by email) a completely FREE week (all expenses included) in 2017 as a compensation for the encountered troubles. By the way folks, this building project is terminated in the meatime.

Wir waren vom 12.09. bis 24.09.09 mit unseren Kindern (2+5) in der Villa Anno zu Gast und können das Ferienhaus einschließlich Vermieter nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Vertragsabwicklung war hervorragend, das Haus in einem Top Zustand, tolle Lage, einfach ideal für einen erholsamen Familienurlaub. Vielen Dank und 5 ***** aus Deutschland!

Calonge is 35 km's from Girona, 90 from Barcelona and only a few minutes from the well known towns of Platja D' Aro and Palamos. Its a Catalan village pure style in a calm and residential area yet very near to the beaches. The villa was constructed in 1986 and substantial enlargements were done in 1996 with the construction of the top floor and swimming pool. Don Camillo is build on the slopes of a mountain ridge just outside the village of Calonge at an altitude of about 250m and overlooking the beautiful bay of Palamos. The coastline is very rough yet has lots of nice sandy beaches which are well maintained by the local tourist authorities. Platja d'Aro has a magnificent yacht harbour and is the place to be for long friday and saturday evenings and nights. Its main street is filled with restaurants, bars and disco's and most of the shops are open till 23.00h in high season. Calonge itself has a huge walking area along the beach that reaches till Palamos at the far end.

Golf: There are about 5 golf courses within a range of 10 km's from Calonge amongst which the famous Mas Nou championship Golf in Platja d'Aro.
