Access to all of the amenities at Grand View Lodge, Minnesota’s premier golf, spa, and conference resort, makes this the perfect, year-round, family, vacation home. During the summer months we give preference to a 7 day minimum stay.
Sit by the spectacular stone fireplace on a chilly winter night, or catch some sun at the beach on a warm summer day. Outdoor recreation opportunities abound in the Brainerd Lakes Area, whatever the season. This log sided guest home has access to a fabulous sand beach and partial view of Gull Lake.

We stayed at Fred's cabin this summer with three families-total of 10 people and the space worked out very well! Plenty of room for six adults and four children! This is not on the water, but close access to the lake! This actually worked out better for us so that we didn't have to worry about the kids running freely around the property! A simple walk to the Grand View Lodge! The kids loved the facilities such as the pool on their down time and we made smores in the firepit one night! Playground also available and games! We decided to rent our own boat for three days and Fred let us use his boat dock so that was awesome that we could come and go as we wanted! We went tubing...being from Texas the water in August was extremely cold but the kids got used to it:) Saw the bears up in Orr (4 hours away)..a true Minnesota experience! Fred was wonderful! We even had family from all areas of MN come down on our last day for a small family reunion. About 30 people total! My kids and nephews cant stop talking about our trip to MN as their favorite so far! And trust me my children have been to some of the most beautiful beaches...yet this was there favorite and one of mine too!:)
We just returned from a week in Fred and Mary's guest cabin and couldn't have had a better vacation! The cabin is spacious, clean, well-appointed and the layout is terrific. Three and a half baths (2 showers and 1 tub) and 4 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen with a bunk bed, and two rooms with 2 twins in each) were perfect for our multi-family group. There is plenty of parking for when guests visit and the walk to Grandview, by beach or road, is only a few minutes. The beach area and dock were wonderful, though the lift did not accommodate our tri-toon, so we had to beach it. Having access to the amenities of Grandview was wonderful as well. We can't wait to come back next year!
We could not have been happier, this was exactly what we had been in search of for a lake home with resort amenities. The home was wonderful, clean and accommodated our large family and relatives perfectly. It was very well equipped and a fabulous location. We spent our mornings on the docks and then would enjoy all the wonderful amenities that Grand View Lodge had to offer - there were great restaurants, planned activities from tubing to fishing to bingo in the evening and roasting marshmallows - we utilized the kids club a few nights to have an adult dinner and our child loved it - my husband is an avid golfer and loved both the preserve & pines and he said the 9 hole course was perfect to play with our 8 year old. The home has a wonderful North Gull Lake location with grocery, town shopping & dining within minutes from the resort. Must do the Turtle races if you have children. Mary and Fred could not have been greater people to rent from!!! We truly loved the home, loved Gull Lake, love the resort - cannot wait to go back next year!!!
Spacious and accommodating! Lots of rooms and bathrooms for multiple family gathering. Nice dock, garage, deck, plus everything you could need including plentiful towels, bedding, toys, and well-stocked kitchen. Great location, just 5-10 minute walk to Grandview Lodge, so just far enough away for a little quiet privacy. Old timey cabiny decor. Only complaint is small, and few TVs for the people who like that sorta thing. Wheelchair accessible to bottom floor bedroom, but not to main living space.
We ALL loved Fred and Mary 's Gull lake Home!! Want to return again! Place was lovely, clean, great accommodations for our girls group get away from Gustavus!
