|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Few places in Greece, have this kind of view, the tiny picturesque fishing harbour to the left, and then across the straits of Toukmakia to the purple hills of Turkey. Just open the door and walk straight out on to the beach at magical Scala Mystegna. And what a beach it is - the beautiful white pebbles, truly crystal blue waters of the Aegean, without the crowds. These stylish new two storey villa-apartments have a touch of luxury and have been decorated with care. The Kyparissis Beach Houses offer a special kind of seclusion - It's as if the beach is your own.
Testimonials: June/July 06: It can be risky booking a holiday on the internet and may not live up to expectation.
Our stay here has exceeded expectation – the beautiful house, so tastefully and thoughtfully renovated with absolutely everything provided, to a very high standard;
The fantastic position just metres from the sea; the peace and quiet; the friendliness of the locals.
It has been just perfect - Sue and Nikolas Tsoukala - U.K.
12-9 -2006: A wonderful authentically Greek holiday with all the perfect ingredients; beach on the doorstep, solitude if you desire it, and luxury apartment, splendid tavernas to choose from and sheep, goats and even donkeys wandering free. It’s good to live amongst the local people here and be so warmly welcomed by them. We’ll be back for sure - Bryan and Shirley.
Mytilene (the capital of the island): You are also only twenty minutes drive from Mytilene, where is the seaport and Airport is, and a sophisticated city with lots to do, day and night, outstanding sight-seeing, cultural attractions (castles, museums, kafeneon), shopping or night life (hot bars or authentic traditional bouzoukia). From the seaport of Mytilene there are daily boat trips to Turkey.
Thermal springs: Only ten minutes drive from the Kyparissis Beach Houses is Thermi one of the unique locations of thermal springs on the island (open mainly for the summer season). The waters are hot, mineral laden and said to have extensive therapeutic qualities, especially for those suffering from bone or muscle problems.
A slightly more sophisticated thermal bath house (or hamam) is located at Therma, located on the Gulf of Gera (approximately20 minutes by car). Here, not only can you soak away your aches and pains in the thermal pool, but also partake in relaxing therapeutic activities (including mud baths) by a registered masseuse specializing in holistic massage and Reiki, Thai massage and aromatherapy. (open all year round)
The property is accessed directly from the unspoilt pebble beach. The main entrance leads into a spacious open plan living/dinning area, tastefully decorated in a simplistic Hellenic style with a smooth cool stone floor. Double balcony doors open onto a terrace, giving direct access onto the beach. The fireplace takes care of any early/late/ out of season chills and air conditioning cools the summer heat. Adjoining is the Kitchen where all the 21st Century Kitchen conveniences are carefully placed so as not to detract from the overall traditional simplicity of the design. It has everything you require for self catering and more, and that wonderful view of the Aegean just beyond the window sill.
I am Australian even though i feel Greek because I have been here most of my life.
My mother visited Molyvos and met a Greek fisherman and married him. What was so amazing all those years ago what that Giogios (my step father) married a divorced women who had children. Ever seen the Shirley Valentine movie well that was my mother before the movie was even made.
My mother Jenifer married Giogios the Greek fisherman (which he was, just retired) and we moved to Greece in1972 .We have been visiting since 1968.. (Maybe i shouldn’t write dates as this shows my age)
I was brought up in Athens and Molyvos. Molyvos because it was my step fathers village which we all love and spent every holiday here.
I have worked with tourism all my life and feel that what is missing is quality accommodation for people who love Greece and want to experience the real Greek life and stay in self catering houses that are comfortable and affordable.
I am happily married with 3 children, there is much more to the story but if you want more details you will just have to come and visit us.
I feel unique as i know of many Greeks that have gone to Australia and other countries but i don’t know of any Australians that have been brought up in Greece.
Melinda Mcrostie purchased this house in 2002
Kyprassis beach houses are names after my great grand father. My Greek family were brought up here and there are many fond memories which we have been told about
The houses are right on the beach and the fact that you can walk out of your bedroom/ living room directly on to the beach and jump into the sea and this makes these houses rare.
We feel very close to these beach houses as they are something near to our hearts.
Waking up in the morning to a beautiful day with the soft sound of waves. The relaxing view. Spending the day swimming and unwinding watching the small fishing boats. Evening sunset across the bay. Lying in bed at night and falling asleep to the calming swish of waves.
We visited the Kyparissis beach house this summer and it was our second stay in this wonderful location (we have never staid twice in any other place). We work hard during the year so what we most enjoyed was the tranquility of the place. The house is situated beside an olive orchard, on a small private beach, mixed sand and pebbles, where you can easily walk barefoot and it is only a few steps from the door to the sea. The entrance to the water is not steep and so it is ideal for the children who can play in the water. Further in the water you can enjoy snorkeling as the water is extremely clean. The beach is an ideal place to sunbathe and relax under the tamarisk tree during the day. The house itself is quite new, very well equipped with all the applances you might need when you like to cook and furnished in a simple but very tasteful style and extremely clean (the cleaning lady comes twice a week). As there are three bedrooms, every member of the family can enjoy their own privacy, especially on the first floor where the bedroom has its own balcony with a wonderful view of the turqoise sea and turkish coast. The lower bedroom´s door opens straight to the beach so you can hear the sounds of the waves when you are falling asleep. Although the village is quiet and safe so you do not have to be afraid to let your children run around and play all over, it has three very good restaurants that prepare fresh fish and sea-food and delicious greek cuisine and two very good cafes.
The island offers many occasions to go for a trip with lots of monasteries, churches and the capital offers supermarkets, local markets and shops, cafes and lively nightlife. This time we brought our friends with us who staid in the other house and all of us will come again.
This place was absolutely perfect in every way imaginable. The property itself is perfectly placed and has everything you will require for an extended or short stay. It is clean and well maintained. We are a young Australian family of 5 with the youngest child 2 years old. The property owner Melinda went out of her way to ensure we could accommodate our youngest and was very flexible. This was our second visit and will definitely not be our last. The Village is also great, all the people are very warm and welcoming. Even when our child got a temperature and was not feeling well, the whole town went out of its way to assisted us. They were also very happy to entertain my children by showing them the local donkey and there farm animals. It is the most authentic of true Greek experiences!
The house was very clean. Everything needed is included; washer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, a decent cooker,tv, dvd, cuttlery, crockery etc. Melinda and Theo answered all our questions. Kyparissis Bay is small and very friendly and we enjoyed the nearby restaurants. We had a great time and it was like paradise. Next year we come again.

Looking for a wonderful place to be ? Then it is here..........
Sun, sea, a quiet beach (a view locals only) and a good house where you can
relax ! Two bifg bedrooms and two bathrooms with toilets. Everything you need
is present. The house is clean and everything works. Little restaurants in the
neighbourhood. The restaurant in the miuddle is the best; excellent food, friendly
people and a beautiful view at the sea. A car to make trips is needed.
We will be back soon !

We are a couple with 3 small children of 5, 3 and a baby a few months old. We were originally going to Lesvos for a wedding and found the Kyparisis Beach house on line and thought it was ideally located for reaching the wedding. In the end the wedding was cancelled, but we decided to keep the holiday for the family, as we had never visited Lesvos before (we lived in Greece for 4 years in the early 2000s and vistied 13 other islands).
In the end, we were extremely happy with our visit and with the facilities at Kyparissis. The location is generally good for getting to Mytilline if needed or just getting on the road to sight see. The little beach side village of Skala Mystegna is low key and great for a family with young kids. There are plenty of tavernas, a kafeneio etc all a short stroll away and the atmosphere is very "Greek", with most of the holiday makers being Greek families, or locals using the beach. The sea was just outside the door and the water wonderful.
The house is well set up with living dining downstairs and two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (shower) upstairs. All the usual appliances etc were there...we did not find anything lacking or missing that we needed. It was nice to be right on the beach so you were never too far away from needing to run back to the house for something....expecially with small kids.
We visited Molyvos and had dinner at The Captian's Table. Mellinda came out to meet us and we recieved excellent hospitality. Overall Melinda and Theo were very helpful when we had a question.
I think my only comment would be that the small bit of yard between the house and the beach could be "tidied-up" a bit...I am not sure if it is actually a part of the property, but it just needed to be cleaned up a bit and could potentially be a really nice space for more planting or a sitting area etc.
Overall a very nice place for a small family.
We stayed in beach house number 1 for a week, and wished we had booked for the remaining time we had on Lesbos. The property is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with cutlery, utensils and crockery. There is also a brand new microwave, dishawasher, washer, fridge freezer and cooker. Plenty of room too. Someone has obviously put a lot of thought into what people need whilst holidaying! There's loads of space and nice high traditional ceilings to keep the rooms nice and airy. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and downstairs also helps. Skala Mystenga is very quiet, but we loved it. The beach is clean and the sea was calm and crystal clear, it was so hard to pull yourself away from this. It was just so ideal. There's only three tavernas and a cafe, but they are all of an extremely high standard. There is fresh fish every night and it was always excellently cooked. We did manage to get to see Melinda at Molyvos and she was the perfect hostess. I would certainly recommend this house, and the adjoining beach house to anyone who likes their Greek holidays quiet and peaceful. For our next visit we are hoping to stay here for three weeks. Perfect, doesn't really do it justice. Simply wonderful!
This idyllic holiday destination is perfect for those seeking peace and seclusion, or 'to get away from it all'. Even in high season the beach remains low key and sparsely populated. there are three tavernas and one cafenion close by, (at least one of these establishments is guaranteed to be open year around).
Scala Mystegna is in a perfect position for those wanting to see the island
