Darla & Kevin,
Thanks so much!! Great Cabin with all the essentials (even if the grilling utensils were in the "secret stove drawer")
We canoed, rented a boat, hit the beach, sat around fires every night & mostly just relaxed.
We had a blast and will recommend staying here to others
Darla was a dream to work with. We had a busy summer leading up to the trip so I was pretty scattered. Darla was so patient and understanding! She left a little s'mores care package that was so thoughtful we paid it forward for the next guest!
I can't state enough how clean it was!!! I felt like we were the first people to stay there. My grandmother has a very small cottage on Higgins so when we run out of room at her place we've stayed in many different places around the lake. This is the first place I'd recommend to any of our friends and family and the first place that felt just as cozy as my grandma'a cottage. I thought I would miss being right on the lake but it's so close to the state park and in such a beautiful location, I didn't miss being right on the water at all. It was also very kid friendly and had plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 kiddos. I can't wait to go back!
Just a great place!
This cottage is set up well. The kitchen is well furnished. We really enjoyed the Internet, Netflix, and AC at night. We spent most of the day hours at Higgins Lake and like how close the cottage is to the North side of the lake. We have a family reunion in the area this time of year. Few cottages have two queen sized beds like this one does.
We had a great time. The Chalet was very clean and well equipped for an up north vacation!
We had a fantastic time at the cute little cabin in the woods, well not too little... perfect for family of 6. There were only 4 in our party, my Father, sister, husband and myself. The decor was so perfectly done, outside quiet and peaceful, enjoyed a bonfire in front from sitting around it or even enjoying it from the beautiful deck. My husband even stumbled across a new baby dear when looking for twigs in the woods next to the cabin. We were very close to the county park for swimming, as well as the North higgins lake state park...both places were very clean! We enjoyed Pine Pantry on Higgins Rd for a home cooked breakfast in a small cabin restaurant, very good food. Then all you can eat Prime Rib buffet and more homemade food at Matt's in Roscommon, only a few minutes away. We were close enough to buy swimming toys at Dollar General in Roscommon and had the rafts blown up at the gas station by our cabin, and enjoy Dairy Queen for a ice cream treat before heading back to relax. The wifi was great, strong signal and able to check in with home or watch Hulu when we kicked back. We played cards in the nicely lit kitchen. I would recommend this cabin to ANYONE, the owners were so friendly, helpful and wonderful. They have a journal in the cabin for guests to write it, it was fun to read the good times others had shared and what restaurants they visited. We will be back! Thank you, hope you enjoy it as well. Nelson & Borch family. June 2016!
Although I wasn"t able to rent this cottage as we wanted to, due to a change in our plans, the owners were very nice, responded to all of my emails promptly and were very organized with regards to the rental. I hope we will get to stay here another time. Thanks so much!
