This side by side two unit home is ideal for larger parties visiting Portland and Southern Maine. This home was completely renovated in the winter of 2014. It has two side by side apartments with a shared front porch and a large shared backyard. Each townhouse has 3 bedrooms (queen, queen, two twins) and one full bath. The house is situated on a quiet residential street close to Bug Light, Willard Beach and Willard Square, which includes Scratch Bakery and Willard Scoops ice cream. The house is centrally located 3 miles from Portland's Old Port and close to local beaches and attractions of Southern Maine. Each apartment has brand new kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures, refinished hardwood floors, tile, new beds and decor. with a nautical flair. There is off street parking for four cars total. I shot a movie in Portland and this was our home base for 5 weeks. Rented both sides from Chris and we couldn't've been happier. Since we were the first renters, there were a few things kitchen-wise that had been overlooked (a drying rack, etc.), but after a simple call to Chris, the items were left outside the door within hours. Great neighborhood, centrally located to everything (like the popular bakery at Willard Square) At some point, I'd love to return when I'm not working and just sit on the back porch sipping wine. Great rental and great value in South Portland. Chris, the owner, was wonderful; totally accommodating and flexible. The house is in a great neighborhood, just over the bridge from Portland and close to several beaches in South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, and Scarborough. Nine members of my family rented both units for my July wedding. They loved it! The two units are arranged very well. They share a porch and a sizable back yard for grilling and hanging out but also offer a bit of extra privacy with separate units with their own bedrooms and bathrooms (which is great for two families coming together). Highly recommended!

* Ride the ferry to Peaks Island, rent a bike and explore.
* Play at one of our local beaches.

* Beach, beach, beach!.
* Ride bikes to Fort Williams State Park.
* Grab a morning bagel or sweet treat from Scratch Bakery.
* Ride a ferry to one of the islands in Casco Bay.
* Finish your day with an ice cream treat from Willard Scoops.
Willard Beach is situated on the edge of Casco Bay at the entrance to Portland Harbor. It is a relaxing place with calm water and an incredibly picturesque view of the bay and its many islands. There is a snack bar, restrooms, a playground for the kids, and dogs are allowed in the early morning and evening hours. Within walking distance to the house, you will find an ice cream shop, a couple of convenience stores, an outstanding artisanal bakery, and several local eateries which range from pizza and sandwiches to fine dining. There is even a local playhouse in the neighborhood.
Also, a very short bike ride or drive gets you to Fort Williams State Park (home to the famous Portland Head Light), several sandy beaches (Crescent, Higgins and Scarborough) as well as downtown Portland. In Portland's historic Old Port District you can shop in locally owned boutiques, dine at nationally acclaimed restaurants, buy fresh seafood on one of the country's last surviving working waterfronts, or take a sightseeing cruise out of Portland Harbor. This is a great place for a family vacation!
