The house is located in the parish of St. Thomas, on an elevation that overlooks the south and west coasts of the island. This is clearly visible as you drive into the area and from the 2nd floor of the house where the owner lives
We are in a Cul-de-Sac and remote from the bustling highways, shopping centres and beaches overflowing with tourists. It is known to be quiet, great for sleeping-in and relaxation. The property is situated about 5.4 KM or 9 mins drive uphill from Holetown, St. James.
The Guest House is a large comfortable space on the bottom floor, of the 2-storey structure. The Guest House was furnished and equipped with long-staying visitors in mind - thoughtfully put together for comfort, a home away from home.
A recent visitor had this to say:
"The villa is real charming, in a very quiet place , surrounded by a spectacular nature. It is equipped with everything you can need, even more! Extremely clean, it is equipped everywhere with mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Very fresh both during days and nights, air conditioned is not necessary. And what to say about Yolande and Bentley? They have been so kind and friendly with us, ready to help if necessary. They also picked us up at the airport on our arrival in the evening (the house is not so easy to be find without Tom Tom), patiently waited for our car rental and change money, and then accompanied and waited for us while we bought something to eat in a supermarket."
Regarding the layout of the guest house, you have your own entrances front and back. The floors are not connected on the inside. The house is surrounded by garden beds of beautiful flowers, shrubs and fruit trees all maintained by the owners.
Driving to our home for the first time can prove difficult as the Maps of the island are incomplete. Some maps eg. Google list the area as "Dukes" and others as "Endeavour". Do not lose any sleep over that. Google St.Thomas, Barbados and you should find us easily at 13.1775027,-59.5928232,

Affordable. We are meticulous about our service quality. Offering - clean, neat, functional, quiet, private, large and for a relatively low price.
Offers another experience to the Beaches of Barbados. Be Bajan - live among them, talk to them, meet ordinary bajans, eat bajan food, start friendships. Relax and unwind. Remote location away from the hustle and bustle of the large heavily populated beach properties. Your piece of paradise.
Just back from a fabulous stay in Yolande's and Bentley's lovely apartment.
They met us with wonderful smiles at the airport, despite our 3 hour delay, and took us back to the spotlessly clean and super well equipped apartment, with super comfortable new bed. In the morning we were able to appreciate the calm rural location, lovely tropical garden, and met their friendly little dog Socks.
Hire car needed to access the nearest beach, about 10 mins away, but wonderful to drive back to the cool breezes and peace on the hill at Endevour at the end of the day. Spent the holiday exploring this wonderful island and it's many attractions.
Would return in a heartbeat!
One of the sweetest couple you will meet in Barbados . They meet us at the airport made sure or rental car was ready for us ,made sure we got something to eat and escorted us home . This apartment is ideal if your looking for a quiet getaway in a convenient location. Very clean and peaceful and you will not find a better price if you do not mind been away from the night life. Yolande and Bentley made sure there was nothing needed ,they provided everything they could think of ,even a cell phone to make sure we could not get lost or we could commutate with them if needed.
The property is centrally located to many of the attractions , great if you are an out door person who likes hiking ,biking or walking and driving distance away from beaches .
Making arrangements for this apartment went smoothly, Yolanda is very easy to communicate with. We looked forward to seeing the monkeys on our drive to the apartment . Overall great owners right there above you, clean and cozy and a GREAT price ,we will return! Thanks again guys !!
I highly recommend this property to everyone. Whether vacationing or on business, this property will suit you well. Yolande is a great host who provides excellent privacy and spacious living. You will feel as if you are home. If you need to conduct private business meetings you will be pleased. If you are on a honeymoon or anniversary vacation you will feel the intimacy of your accommodations. If you need a family vacation, the place will provide all the living and sleeping space while making your daily excursions. Yolande's Guest House is centrally located on the island, so all the inland and coastal attractions are a short distance away without all the traffic and congestion of Bridgetown or St. Michael's Parrish. One of the greatest perks is that the best coastal seafood restaurants are in reasonable driving distance to the guest house. You can save alot of money in a clean, cozy, and comfortable house, and still enjoy 4 and 5 star restaurants. Excellent cable and internet service is provided at same reasonable cost. Stay one time and you will return. My family stayed 3 times last year alone.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Yolande's Guest House. Yolande and her husband Bentley are the consummate hosts, very friendly, allow you privacy, but always available if you need anything.
They are very helpful, meeting us at the airport, showing us the way to their house, providing us with the use of a cell phone, and providing us with maps and information on Barbados.
Yolande's Guest House is a spacious, immaculate, downstairs apartment unit offering everything you need including large kitchen with stove, refrigerator, and dining room table, large living room, large bathroom with shower, and a bedroom with ceiling fan, and plenty of closet and drawer space. The guest house was perfect for us because it is away from the touristy areas, yet is easily accessible from the highways, and is a close drive to the cities. It helped us in accomplishing our desire of immersing ourselves in the local culture instead of living like a tourist.
The guest house was immaculate and very clean. Yolande provides all of the little touches to make your stay very enjoyable and comfortable. We were made to fell just as comfortable as though we were living at home. As an added bonus, we enjoyed playing with their adorable dog, Socks, and also enjoyed waking up in the morning to the crowing of roosters and bleating of lambs next door.
This is the best of both worlds as it offered wonderful countryside Barbados living, yet with easy access to everywhere you want to go, living with the people of Barbados, at a fraction of the price of the touristy hotels. We are looking forward to staying at Yolande's Guest House again on our next visit to Barbados.
Very Clean and Neat. Amenities were provided and host were very gracious. Owners provided a cell for local calls. A list of the main attractions on the island. Important numbers including emergency numbers were provided. Host provided bananas and gave us a tour of their herb and fruit garden. House temperature was very pleasant without air-conditioning. Value exceptional considering the inflationary rates of Barbados.
These only negative things: They need good directions to location as well as address markings. Internet was extremely slow and could not stream at all. A bed covering on the very comfortable bed is necessary if plastic is going to be left on the bed. Towels need upgrade due to the humidity.
The owners again were gracious hosts who gave excellent tips on restaurants and attractions. They genuinely cared for our comfort. The best restaurant on the island is the Tide in Holetown.
If you like beach activities, but do not have to, or want to stay on the beach this is the place. If you like hills and abby's this is most certainly the place.
Centrally located for the entire Island.
I went to Yolande's place and it was just perfect! Beautiful room, large kitchen and great looking livingroom. Beautiful back yard garden with tons of fresh fruit and herbs ready to use and BBQ easy to use. Really charming and welcoming. About 10 minutes from beaches, restaurants and stores. If your looking for a remote and quiet place on the island far from tourist.. this is it! She help us finding a great deal on a rental car. She gave us all the maps and all information we needed to know about Barbados. I recommand Yolande's guess house 100% to anyone who wants to explore the island and enjoy the quietness off Barbados.
