Apartment Maestrale is on two floors. On the ground floor it has its private entrance and living areas whilst the two bedrooms both with en suite shower rooms are on the first floor. The lounge is very well furnished in traditional style and has a large settee and two armchairs in front of a traditional wood burning fireplace. It is separated by a low wall from the well fitted kitchen and dining room. All the rooms have traditional beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. They are well furnished with colourful rugs, pretty curtains and lots of pictures on the walls giving the apartment a very warm atmosphere. The apartment has its own area in the garden with table and chairs and sun umbrella.
Podere Il Giurato
The ancient farmhouse which is almost 100 years old was renovated in 1983 and lovingly restored in the traditional rustic style, in total harmony with the surrounding countryside: the main building is also home to the owners.
The apartments are surrounded by beautiful tendered grounds and a pleasant swimming pool which is open from May to October.
Also available for guests, a wood oven, and children's play area, barbecue and covered parking for each apartment.
Hi Paola & Stefano
Thank you so much for your generosity and for providing us with very comfortable and well located accommodation.
We had a great holiday. The apartment was just what we needed and your gardens were delightful.
We will certainly be recommending you to our friends.
Have a good summer
Thank you for such a warm welcome and making us feel at
I stayed at Podere il Giurato with my husband, sister and brother in law. We had a fantastic time and loved our accommodation and the surrounds. Our hosts were friendly and made us feel most welcome. I would recommend this place most highly and will be going again. Everything was perfect.
Just back from a fabulous week staying at Apartment Maestrale at Podere Il Giurato, a beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse in gorgeous grounds in easy reach of Pisa, Livorno, Florence, Lucca and other gems.
The accommodation was comfortable and well appointed with a huge pool, BBQ, even a pizza oven and a friendly baker who called each morning. Just down the road Fauglia is a pretty village with some nice shops and restaurants.
But what really made it special was our host, Paola Mancini, for whom nothing was too much trouble - she met us at the airport to guide us in the dark, recommended places to go, restaurants and even lent us her iPad to use as a sat nav which was an absolute godsend.
My sisters and I stayed here in June 2013, and everything about the apartment and the owners were absolutely brilliant. Paola was so extremely welcoming and friendly.
She offered to drive to the airport when we arrived and waited while we sorted out our hire car, so we could follow her to the apartment, rather than risk getting lost. It was my first time driving 'on the other side of the road' and took so much pressure off me!
As it was quite late when we arrived, she had very kindly left out home-made pizza for us, which was a welcome and tasty treat after all our travelling.
The accommodation was first class. It was very well-equipped and had everything, and more, than we expected.
There was a lovely BBQ area and terrace to sit and relax. In the evening it was lovely to look out for and listen to hundreds of fireflies, or take a dip in the pool, which was beautifully lit up in the evening.
It was one of the most relaxing holidays we've had and will definitely be back in the future!
We are a family of 6 (three boys and a girl) and the grounds around the apartment made for the best "backyard" a kid could ask for. We took day trips each day (Florence, Siena, Pisa, Cinque Terre, the beach) but loved to come back "home" to our little slice of heaven. We had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. We enjoyed the ping-pong table, the foosball table, the pool and the beautiful weather. The grounds around the apartment are great for playing soccer and we were able to save money cooking our own food though we did enjoy some of the local cuisine. Paola was the perfect host and extremely helpful. She showed us where to park in Florence, helped us get tickets to the Uffizi, and even helped me get the bar-b-q lit! This was my first time booking through HomeAway but I'm sold! This was a vacation we will never forget due in large part to our wonderful accommodations and our gracious host! Next time we're bringing family and friends!
We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 girls of 11 and 9) and had an absolutely wonderful 10 days in the Maestrale apartment in late October. The apartment is clean, spacious, well furnished and cosy with a real rustic charm. The kitchen is so well equipped that we actually spent most evenings in cooking our own food. It is part of the Podere Il Giurato complex and is set in lovely farmland with horses in the fields and an extensive garden around the apartments which the children loved. They also loved playing with the owners' dogs and cat. We even saw a family of wild boar cross the track in front of us when we were driving back to the apartment one evening!
The best think about the apartment and our holiday was the friendship and hospitality of our hosts, Paola and Stefano. They made us feel at home from the start and were so relaxed and helpful that everything ran like clockwork and the atmosphere was perfect. We would definitely recommend staying at Paola's to anyone else and we are thinking of a return trip ourselves.
Although in a rural setting you are within striking distance of the lovely village of Fauglia at the top of the hill. You can get your morning croissant from here and it is a 4km walk or drive from the apartment. Do try the amazing restaurant of La Gattaiola in Fauglia. The owner is a real character and serves the most amazing pasta dishes in an atmoshperic setting.
The apartment is also a good base from which to explore the rest of Tuscany. You are only three of four kilometres away from the main FILIPI (Firenze-Livorno-Pisa) motorway that takes you to most of the major cities and Chianti wine region.
Thanks again Paola and Stefano for a wonderful time.
It was wonderful time. Paola is very friendly and helpfully. The apartment, pool and surroundings were very nice. I think that next holidays we will spend in this excellent place. Ciao Paola !!!
