It is the ideal Base Camp to explore the mountains, the trails as well as Asheville and the Biltmore Estate twenty minutes away. In the summer you can fly fish, mountain bike and hike in Pisgah National Forest or hear classical music at Brevard Music Center. Try the brews at Sierra Nevada Brewery or Oskar Blues.
A three night minimum stay is required.
This four bedroom two bath cottage is nestled in the deep woods at an elevation of 2900 feet. A well-maintained gravel road leads to the house. It sleeps eight comfortably - more if you use a sofa bed. The main level includes a living room, kitchen, shared bathroom, two bedrooms, den and porch.
The two master suite are downstairs and each features a king-sized bed. A small room at the base of the stairs could be just right for a card game. The washer and dryer are located on the lower level.
Enjoy your meals inside at a table seating four or dine outside at a large table on the fabulous 55 x 15 foot covered porch. Twinkle lights along the railing makes for a magical dinner party.
No wifi but there is basic cable. There is plenty of parking space for cars, bikes and gear. Feel free to use the portable fire pit outside to roast marshmallows. Owner has a supply of firewood and starter logs for you to use.
The owners live in Miami.

Great place to spend time with family and friends, felt like home
The pictures don't do this home justice. It was more spacious than we had expected. The steep gravel drive way up to the house was a little intimidating when we arrived in the dark, and might be tough to navigate if there was significant rain without 4wheel drive. It feels very quite and secluded which was nice.
Owner was very quick to respond! Also seemed to be extremely nice. House was very clean and deck was beautiful! Wish we could have spent more time there.
Our family vacation to the Asheville area was fantastic at this quiet Mills River location. This house is a four bedroom, two bath cottage with a great view of the mountains from it.. There were 7 of us in all and there was more then enough space for everyone. The property had a lot of acreage for the kids to run and explore.
The kitchen was nice and it was stocked with everything that we needed for help with making our meals. All the rooms are very well maintained and very clean.
There was also a really nice bench on the second floor outside the kitchen to sit and have your meals outside looking at the woods and the mountains. We did this for practically every meal and was very relaxing and peaceful.
In addition, the owner was very responsive to questions that we had about the property. We highly recommend this property to those who want to visit the mountains and get away from it all. We can't wait till we can go back again!
Beautiful spacious home, classic southern charm. Great location between Asheville and Brevard; only a short drive to the Davidson River.
Thank you for a wonderful family get away at Base Camp. It truly was a base camp for our family to enjoy Asheville and the Biltmore House. We also enjoyed some family time on the back deck. The house was perfect.
