The recently renovated cottage is located on the West side of Cayuga Lake just 30 minutes north of Ithaca. A quiet section of Rt. 89 in the Hamlet of East Varick, it sits just across the road from 90' of lake front; including, a grassy area for picnicking and a 120' dock equipt with a boat lift. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and picturesque sunsets from end of the dock or while floating in one of our kayaks.
Cute little cottage and very affordable. Owner was very friendly and answered all questions we had. House was clean and had everything we needed. We went there with our daughter and grandson and our 3 dogs. Lake was across the street, but no big deal- road wasn't very busy. Several wineries are within a 5 mile radius. We are looking forward to coming back. Thanks for a great weekend.
We had a great weekend getaway in the fall last year with our dog! The house was very clean and comfortable. The big love seat was relaxing after bon fire evenings on the beach. We used the kayaks for an afternoon which was awesome, but it was difficult to launch them. At first, we were hesitant about the beach being across a street, but it turned out to not be a big deal since the road is fairly quiet. This place was a great value, and we would DEFINITELY stay again or recommend it to friends. Thanks Carris family!
The cottage is not fancy but clean and comfortable and a very good value. The pictures are accurate. It had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The location was convenient for visiting the many wineries. Hannah met us at the cottage for check in to go over details and answer questions. We enjoyed spending time in the evenings on the lake around the fire pit. We had a great week.
My family and I had a great time. We loved going to the docks for swimming, fishing, boating, kiaking and spending time around the fire. It was a great time loved it would stay again.!
Our stay at the cottage was very positive. The owners were extremely helpful with our boat and trailer and the boat lift was perfect to protect our boat from the waves. We had a camp fire every night, enjoyed kayaking and using the paddle boat. The fishing was fair but the lake was beautiful. Our dog had a fantastic week of chasing the toads and playing frisbee in the large back yard and swimming for hours in the lake. The cottage location was close enough to drive to 2 state parks and enjoy the waterfalls and hiking, a wildlife refuge and the Corning glass museum. Of course the wineries are everywhere. The owners put together a very helpful welcome book that included brochures and directions to sightseeing activities, grocery stores and wineries. It was a lovely week, enjoyed by all.
We had a great long weekend at the cottage on Cayuga. The house was updated and very clean. The upstairs had two bedrooms with the master facing the main road. This was not a problem since there was very little traffic. Across the street is a great grassy area with a dock, which was great for drinking coffee in the morning. We took a trip in the paddleboat and fished off the dock.
I'd suggest adding an iron to the amenities, but there was a washer and dryer, and the dryer took most wrinkles out. Overall, it was super cute and we would definitely stay here again.
