Our stay in Manuel Antonio was just amazing! The accommodations were incredible with a full sized pool steps from your door. Clean, airy and with a full washer and dryer. Always a plus. The owners of the rental were a great source of information and ensured we did it all!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Thumbs up to our stay!!😎

Terrific place with special guests

  • 5 of 5

Annie and Barry were excellent hosts. Barry picked us up at our shuttle drop off and took us back when we left 2 weeks later.

The apartment is very spacious and nicely furnished.

Great kitchen, lots of counter space, gas stove, large fridge, microwave, and a blender (very important).

Two air conditioners, dehumidifier and a full laundry. Very good shower, lots of hot water.

The pool was a blessing. The weather was hot and humid and we were done most days by 2:30 so the pool was a lifesaver.

The pool was attended by a very friendly iguana, and on several occasions squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys.

Many birds, small lizards, and NO mosquitoes.

We did not have a car and used the local bus to get to Quepos or Manuel Antonio. Very inexpensive. The walk to the bus is about 10 minutes.

Barry helped us with some tours which were all first rate. The one at Kids Saving the Rainforest, where Annie volunteers was excellent.

Villa Vista Verde is a real rain forest retreat.

Great place to stay

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We found the place comfortable and well equipped and our children particularly enjoyed the pool. Barry and his wife were friendly and accommodating hosts. We would recommend this property.

Convenient, yet private

  • 5 of 5

This home is very private and located in the midst of a rainforest. It is hot exploring nearby and the pool is a perfect place to cool off. There is an iguana that always seems to be hanging out on the pool deck. Monkeys arrive swinging from the trees and take a little drink out of the pool. Barry is very helpful with nearby things to do. I recommend the William Mangrove Tours which he can arrange. You can walk to the main road and catch the bus to Manuel Antonio or easily drive and spend $4.00 to park all day and have access to your car. If you go to Manuel Antonio Nat'l Park, be prepared for the lovely beach at the end of the walk. There are changing rooms there, complete with iguanas watching you change! But have someone watch your stuff, monkeys have been known to swipe items. The home is very well equipped, everything you could need. One exception is a hairdryer. There are even items for beach/pool use, including a small cooler.

Relaxing Stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed everything about the place, from the monkeys swinging through the trees in the morning, to the iguana sunning himself on the patio in the afternoon. The pool was the perfect temperature for cooling off in the heat, and big enough to swim a few laps. Our hosts left us completely alone, but always said hello as they were coming and going, and answered any questions we had. There were a few days just spent relaxing by the pool, and there was always a show. We had 6 monkeys come to the pool one day to cool off, and believe me, it is hot. There were butterflies and many different species of birds, including a Tucan on our second last day. Overall, a great place, and an excellent value.

Beautiful, tranquil, private, jungle-facing, fully-equipped apartment with terrific hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Sometimes you just want to chill out, totally and completely. Villa Vista Verde is a great place to do that. On the up-hill side of the road to Manuel Antonio National Park, this well-equipped apartment in right on the edge of the rainforest jungle. Look out the window in the bedroom, and you can imagine that you are in a canopy tree house. But step just outside the front door and enjoy the sparkling private swimming pool. This is really the best of both worlds... fully private and secluded but also connected, with WiFi and international television programming. Inside, you'll find a fully equipped (as in North American-style) kitchen, comfortable furnishings, a huge shower in the bathroom and very comfortable bed. Want to enjoy a trip to the beach? Villa Vista Verde has you covered, with a rack full of pool and beach sports equipment for your use. Did I mention that you'll find that equipment in the laundry room, with the washer and dryer?

The listing precisely represented the rental unit. The apartment was immaculately clean and equipped with niceties that make all the difference in the world (like plenty of paper towels, condiments in the fridge, and frozen bottles of water in the freezer, which are far more important than you can imagine!!!). The owners, who live in the upstairs unit of this lovely duplex, are terrific hosts. They never intruded, but were always available for sound tips and insights. They always graciously checked in to see how I was doing and to ask if I needed anything whenever I bumped into them coming and going, and when they found out that I missed my pup who was stateside they were happy to introduce me to their delightful little furballs.

I've rented villas in Manuel Antonio with exceptional views of the Pacific, and there's a lot to be said for having a view to greet you in the AM. However, Villa Vista Verde delivers a rich and rewarding rainforest experience that gives a high perch a run for its money. Here on the edge of the jungle you are rewarded with flora and fauna literally in your face. From the iguana couple that hang out at the pool just outside your door to the birds and mammals surrounding you on all sides, you'll be delighted to head to Ronny's or GAIA, both very nearby, for great sunset views, cocktails and meals, then head home to your private rainforest paradise.

As remote as the villa is, it's just an easy walk down to the bus stop at the main road. Driving? Park right in front of the villa.
