This home was my father's vision. He toiled long and hard at clearing the land and having the cabin loving built in just the right spot for the best views. He lived here for many years enjoying his accomplishment. After his passing we decided to share the beauty of his place with others. We hope that you will enjoy your stay at Ray's Rustic Retreat.
If you would like to get away from it all, this is the spot for you. Only 2 miles from town but you feel a world away from the hustle and bustle. So private and yet close to everything you might need. You will never tire of the view from the wrap around porch. Country at its best.
We came up for a beautiful weekend! From the wide open land, the boats on the lake to the wonderful and beautiful cabin, we had an A plus stay! This is 100 times better than a 5 star hotel.
This place was perfect. We had 3 families meet here for the holidays. There was plenty of space for everyone, the decorations were amazing, and the downstairs was an extra bonus.
The view of the pond and trees really made us feel comfortable and one with nature.
We definitely we be back and probably during summer months next time!
We had a wonderful stay here for the weekend of our daughter,s wedding. Close to Clinton and the reception. Plenty of room for family to stay and not be on top of each other. All the amenities were excellent.
We spent a wonderful four day weekend at this marvelous home located in one of the most peaceful settings you can imagine. Everything from the amenities to the furnishings is A+. We had a number of family members and friends stop by and everyone was amazed that a place like this was available. As we sat on the porch watching the deer roam around, we started making plans to stay again in the near future. Thanks to Maureen and Jim for offering such an outstanding rental in a picturesque area. There is not one negative and no one can go wrong in staying here.
This is our second time renting this home and as we drove up the drive we felt welcomed, felt like we were re-visiting an old friend. This home is so comfortable and there is enough space indoor and outdoor to accommodate small and large families. Everything you need is right there, you only need to grab groceries and libations. Maureen and Jim leave a welcome gift that is a hit with all ages! The furniture is high quality, a fireplace was added since our first visit and we cannot wait to use it on our next visit! There is so much to do! We got into game championships! We cannot wait to return! Thank you Maureen and Jim for sharing this wonderful space with all of us. Marla Bennett and Family.
Just a perfect place for a weekend away.
Had some friends from Albany & Syracuse areas that neededto get together for a reunion weekend - this place was not only perfect geographically speaking, it was just what we needed in every respect.
The wrap-around porch was where we spent most of our time - the views were great - the quiet setting - perfect.
We enjoyed the kayaks on the pond - the place was just above our expectations!
We would definitely stay here again.

A host of aunts, uncles, kids, etc., stayed at this beautiful house for nearly a week in June. The house was spotless and exactly as described. Nicely equipped kitchen sufficient to cook a dinner for 18, which we ate together on the patio downstairs. We played badminton, used the paddleboat and the kayak, and spent hours on the gorgeous wrap-around porch reading and chatting. We would return in a heartbeat.
