Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 5 Sleeps

We love to travel, but we always come home thinking how lucky we are to live so close to the Rocky Mountains. We needed a base camp for our adventures in the Rocky Mountains. With the convenience of being able to walk downtown to several choices in restaurants and pubs after a hard day out adventuring in the Rockies, this condo was an obvious choice. If you are looking for a place with limitless outdoor activity in the Rocky Mountains where the locals go, Canmore is the place you want to go.

Our condo (or cabin as we like to call it) is located in the final phase of the Lodges at Canmore. It has two bedrooms - one on the main floor and the other on the second floor in the loft. The view from the balcony is an amazing view looking down the Bow River Valley, perfect spot for BBQ'ing up world famous Alberta steak while sipping on a glass of red wine.

The best amenity of the Lodges at Canmore is the heated pool, it is kept open until -20 deg Celsius. If you don't want to try the pool at that temperature you can always warm up in the hot tubs. There are also two hot tubs that you will have access to, one by the pool and a more intimate one that only those in our phase can access.

We've tried to stock the condo with all the amenities of home. We vacation at the condo too as much as we possibly can and have tried to make it as comfortable as possible.

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Immaculate, charming and comfortable! And what I didn't know before we stayed here for a week was all the little extras that are included, sugar, tea, spices, drying rack, paper towels, extra toilet paper, olive oil, 2 hair dryers, extra towels, dishwasher soap, washer soap, full size washer/dryer and the list goes on. Included are all those little things you usually have to go out and buy. We enjoyed every minute!

Fantastic location for visiting the local area

  • 4 of 5

Lovely well maintained apartment, just 20 min walk into Canmore town centre. 10 min drive to Banff & great location for visiting the vast activities the area has to offer. Apartment has everything you could possibly need & the view of the mountains from the balcony is beautiful. Only downside is there was no air conditioning which made it uncomfortable to sleep at night. This is my fault though for not spotting this on the details.

Beautiful location, very convenient, great amenities - but a little warm at night

  • 4 of 5

The property is very easy to find, convenient to the Trans-Canada highway, and an easy drive from Calgary airport. Canmore is a wonderful town with lots of restaurants and shops, and this property is a great "base of operations" for day trips out to Banff, Lake Louise, Calgary, and beyond. It's close enough to the centre of town that a 20-minute walk will get you there (or a very quick drive).

The property is well-kept, with everything we needed: kitchen, laundry, BBQ grill on the balcony. Views of the mountains are lovely, and there is abundant parking in the underground garage. We didn't use the hot tubs or pool, but they seemed popular. There is an exercise room which we would have used, but it doesn't open until 8:00 AM and we would have liked to have been down there earlier.

The only thing I'd caution about is that this unit is not air conditioned (apparently not unusual in Alberta). We stayed over the July 1 weekend and it was uncomfortably warm some nights, even with the ceiling and floor fans running and windows open. I can imagine this would be a snug resort in cooler months (and perfect for a ski trip), but for the height of summer, it would benefit from a lot more fans.

What a gem!

  • 5 of 5

We can't thank you enough for offering up your gorgeous cabin to us. We had a wonderful four night stay and were so sad saying goodbye! The apartment was spotlessly clean, had lots of character and we really appreciated all the little touches to help make it a home away from home.

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub - our toddler in particular became obsessed with the pool! The balcony - wow - what a view! With baby tucked up in bed, our evenings were spent watching the sun set in the mountains with a glass of wine....ahhh, bliss! Plus your position gets the afternoon / evening sun, perfect!

Canmore itself was a great base for our Rockies adventure and it was nice to be able to take the short trail walk in from the Lodges. If we ever get the pleasure of returning to the Rockies, we'd want it to be at the Cabin! Thank you x

Brilliant Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home. Canmore is a beautiful, friendly town; an ideal spot from which to tour our beloved Rockies and from which to see so many wild animals.

Terry & Alison. Edmonton. AB

We completely concur with the above comments by Terry and Alison, with whom we shared this delightful condo.

Sorry to leave - but Heathrow beckons!

Wow incredible!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What an incredible 5 days we had there. From the moment opened the condo door to the moment we left it, we were amazed by this place and the surroundings.

This condo is very well equiped, clean, confortable, everything we needed and even more was at our disposal.

We were able to enjoy the great outdoors in this area; Banff, Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Minnewanka Lake and also a part of the Wildlife Road down in the Spray Lake Provincial Park. We had numerous wildlife encounters, beautiful picnics and memories we will remember for a long time!

We more then emjoyed the awesome view from the balcony every night when the baby was asleep with great snack on the BBQ and good wines!

Carrie and Jason: Thank you so much!

We really hope to be able to comeback soon and would never hesitate to recommend your place to anyone!

Andréik, Caroline and baby Maxym.
